I like your style and agree that there is a lot of nonsense spoken to make trainers appear clever. I recently read a comment on a Facebook forum where the trainer suggested ‘using an aversive’ to resolve a behaviour? I had to ask someone what that meant because it sounded like English but didn’t make sense in the context it was being used. 🤷♂️

I think what you’re forgetting is that these days everyone needs a label and this includes dogs. I like your keep it commonsense method of training. Makes perfect sense.

Charly again an item addressed that I am struggling with making my dogowners realise to act more simpler. Last week I had a German in a Dutch training group talking English to his German Shorthair Pointer, he want the dog to send for a blind.🤯🤬. I learned KISS 35 years ago . Still using it. Looking forward to this podcast.

Do you guys implement shock collars?

I found you listening to james sinclair and as I have a litter of old english bulldogs and I'm keeping one I really wanted to put in the effort in training well. But sometimes see to many different ways to do it so have no consistency. I love your videos I have seen so far but would love to see even a playlist on your channel with the puppy training videos in some sort of order. Or even better from a business view an online platform for even basic traininging for puppys. I don't think it will take anything away from your premium 121 services as those clients will always pay for 121 level with you and your team.

Yes I agree that we need an online Charlie training platform 😀

Hello! Got a red fox lab - she’s 6 months and training going really well. We are slowly introducing her to more distractions as been doing in garden and quieter fields. However whenever other dogs she can’t help but want to go to them. What is the best way to introduce her to more distractions and in particular spaces with other dogs

I feel overwhelmed. Don’t use aversive tools says one person. Use a slip lead says another. Try an e collar, suggests someone else. Only use treats and be positive at all times, is someone else’s mantra. Be calm around your dog but also be fun and exciting…… So much conflicting advice. It’s a bit like diet. One expert tells you to not eat something, while another sings its praises. It’s easy to feel a little bit lost with it all. Hoping to find some sensible, simple middle ground. I want my dog to be well mannered around dogs and people and to recall reliably around distractions. I’m prepared to put in the time and effort. Just want to work to some sort of straight forward advice. Have you ever thought of launching an online training course? I’d definitely join.

Overthinker here 🙃. I definitely had to learn to talk less and make more sense to my dogs. I maybe have five commands and it’s enough really. I do think that the whole over complicating things regarding dog behaviour is something many dog trainers do as well. While it makes sense for them (and may be correct), a lot gets lost in translation to many dog owners that simply want to know what to do about behaviour.

Many so called dog trainers have to make it seem super complicated, so their customers need to keep coming back for more training.

Hi Charlie, Myself and my partner have just welcomed home a 12 week old springer spaniel around 2 weeks ago. We can see she is willing to learn, smart snd eager to please. What is the top 3 pieces of advice you’d give us? Thanks in advance!!

1. Socialisation, socialisation, socialisation. 2. Let your puppy be a puppy. 3. Charge your signals with dynamite!

TLDR: don't bother with jargon. Looking forward to the long-form video though (love jargon me...)!
