I found out the hard way that dried dogwood roots are the hardest wood I have ever turned. But it all turned ok great. I think I went thru 4 or 5 carbides. Enjoy

Exceptional work Larry! What a beautiful bowl. I love how it turned out. You are a wonderful woodworker. Please don't stop at 300. Keep on going. I love watching your wood working skills. Nor being a turner I am fascinated by all the different techniques that are used. Thank you for sharing your amazing work with all of turners and non-turners. ❤🙃

Another beautiful project Larry! I realize it took alot of time and hard work. But my oh my, im SO glad you didnt give up. As for retiring from making videos, im sure gonna miss you if you do, but, I will understand. All the filming and editing must be a tedious, time consuming job. I personally want to say a big THANK YOU for showing your approach to turning wood and resin. 👍👍👍👍👍

That was just like being there.I loved how it turned out.I have plenty of stupid questions that I will spare you from. (figure I can watch some of your previous videos and I'll be able to figure them out) Maybe after you reach #300 the sponsors can make it worth your while for you to do another 10 or 20! What you are creating is more than Art. Inspiration a is priceless gift. Thank you for sharing.

I really liked the intro. Nice looking bowl. I bet the dulling of your carbide is from sand that gets trapped in the roots when the tree grows. Love your videos!

This is for people that like shine, what a beauty Larry. I am g oing to mention this video on todays kit giveaways. Now I have 2 great videos, lately we have been overwhelmed with questions on what else to use with our pastes and our answer is always the same, Nothing, so this will make a good point for the resin/wood, thank you Larry. Retiring, NOOOOOOOO:))

@@TheWoodWhirler The challenge of this project, working in a cold shop, mixing epoxy without pressure pot, wood so hard it dulls carbide tips, keeping hands & head out of camera view, sharpening said carbide tips, having to go out day after day and deal with same project, etc, etc. Happy to see you meeting and overcoming these distractions to produce an amazing bowl.. Hope that helps clear up the comment. Keep on whirling..

Nice one, Grandpa Larry!!!👍👍 I had a dog wood tree cut down about 8 years ago. The wood is too hard for me to turn and I gave up on it. The stuff isn’t even good for the fireplace.

Good day to you Larry I want you to know I have watched everyone of your wood turning videos in the year 2021. When I got my lathes a year and a half ago I went looking on KZbin for instructions and I relied on you greatly. You will be greatly missed on the KZbin channels. Maybe you can talk to your grandson in to be in the craftsman in the editor and you just be his mentor in the background. You take care and I’ll cherish the next 32 videos . God bless you

Thank you very much. My Grandsons haven't been around much lately, in fact, no one has been around much lately. Their whole family had covid. They are all fine now. My wife is a cancer patient, so everyone is afraid to come around with her low immunity and such. So it's just this old man and his dog. Hope everything will get back to normal soon. I sure miss my boys. Oh well, I am just venting. Take care, Larry
