My biggest mistake in flying in this game is treating each spacecraft like a fighter jet when I should be treating them like a helicopter.

They are more like helicopters in terms of aerodynamics take for example a ship like the cutter, a blood brick that can fly at hundreds of kilometers per second, these ships reply on their engines and do not use the physics of lift to bevy them

Putting power to your weapons gives you more shots so very much yes you want to have the power in them when you're firing or your weapons will run out of shots sooner. Shields don't recharge when under fire so putting power there while in a furball wont help. You need 5 seconds of no damage to recharge. Power to weapons when fighting, engines to boost away, shields to recharge, weapons to engage

I have a C2 that I want to use for doing bounties to get those weevil eggs. But I'm starting from zero rep-wise. I also have a Cutty Black. Should I just take that out for the first few missions to get bearings, or should I just use the C2 from the start so I'm used to fighting in it?

I'm referring this to my friends. Can I ask that you add chapters to this that way it's easier to navigate each part of the content? I'd reccomend A1's videos, but for the newcomer to the combat scene, it's sometimes too much to reccomend a top-tier dogfighter to someone who's just learning. Your breakdown bridges that gap nicely, and I'd love to see it improved with in game visual representations of the specific manuvers you're speaking on, and possible text transitions such as "Power Managment" when switching to speak to anothe topic. I personally understand the concepts ~ but if you really want to get this video to pop in the algorithm, and further, pop in regards to being shared around the community, a little elbow grease in editing can go a very long way in not only getting your points across while offering information, but bolstering your content's signal by simply being even more compartmentalized and digestable. This is a constructive effort to help you improve this video's flow, while also teaching new people the ropes. This style of content is in very high demand, and I hope to see you grow as a voice on the topics as you further improve as a pilot. o7

I once fought in my Titan Avenger with three panther repeaters, with all power to shields, and the guns' capacitors drained almost immediately and refused to recharge. I found better results if I leave full power to guns, then intermittently run away and put full power to shields. I don't know if I get different results if I upgrade to Gladius ?

One question I have is regards to keybinds. Do you use the mouse wheel to control your throttle or do you have keybinds set up to instantly switch it to a percentage? I'm also guessing that you are controlling your power triangle with keybinds too?

I find using the power triangle to be quite laborious. Do you use Gameglass to shift your power fast?

There are keys for shifting power 100% to one system. F5 is weapons. F6 is engines. F7 shields. F8 reset in the middle.

4:28 don't you enlarge the magazines of energie weapons by putting power to weapons? haven't played a while but when I did I used to do this, because you shield can't regen while taking dmg, so you better enlarge your weapon mag for more chanse to kill in a good burst.

Yeah slightly increases. But you take reduced damage when you have power to shields. The reality is you don't end up having time to have power on weapons for more then just recharge if your are using boost right and recharging shields

i've been watching A1's videos, but sometimes they are too complicated. This is just nice. Also loved the part when you talk about ships and compare them a bit. There are a plenty of ship reviews, but nothing like this (comparison of ships in combat, their advantages and disadvantages). It would be really good to have a series of videos that would break down advantages and disadvantages of different ships in combat and possible tactics against some other ships)

im new to the channel and i felt it was a bit complicated and too detailed honestly. As a beginner, most of the stuff he talked about was just simply not things we can know. Most of it was just knowledge you pick up once you're familiar with each ship. It would have been better to focus more on controls and functionality within the game that we might not be aware of... turning decoupled on and off etc.

Please correct me if I’m wrong but according to Erkul, putting full power to shields SIGNIFICANTLY lowers your weapons DPS. Putting full power to shields only helps the recharge rate. So this logic doesn’t make sense to me. What you should be doing is having full power to guns at all times until your shields get low or go down. At which point you need to get out of there and then switch full power to shields to charge them back up. The only thing that changes with shields while having full power to guns is the recharge rate. When you have full power to guns not only do you get more shots but you also recharge your guns faster and increase your DPS. But like I said this is all according to Erkul. Go and mess with the power triangle in Erkul and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

Hey Ardvark, great video and you earned a sub! So I have a question, I really love 3 fighters and they all seem to be mediocre at best since the last time Avenger_One reviewed them. Where would you put the Banu, Tana and Hawk? If you could rate these 3 in terms of viability overall and between each other, I would really love it, as I am having a tough time choosing. The Hawk isn't really good because, of the big "Front it has" or lemme say it different the overall area where the enemy can hit you is quit big for the hawk

Same goes to the Tana and Defender- but overall you don't need Meta ships for PVP only if you fight Good pilots. Otherwise it doesn't matter that much you can even win plenty of fights with a prowler which is a terrible ship for pvp

i ran pretty okay on an i5 7600k with a 1070 and 16gig of mid ram. never stopped my enjoyment. the biggest boost to the game was definitely installing on ssd. other than that, it doesnt run leaps and bounds better with the massively upgraded setup, just about 10-15 more fps. also had a 4k monitor with the 1070 and 1440p with this monitor so the framerate increase is partly due to that as well. i definitely say give it a shot with those specs

It happens a lot that the enemy crash with me, almost sounds they are doing suicide runs against me :D but maybe I'm the one to blame because I tend to leave my cursor where they are heading to fire at them and it will eventually lead to a collision xD

Yes it would be if the game followed logic lol. But in this game pitching at a 45 degree angle is actually faster. because you are using up and down thrust to pitch in addition to side to side thrusters, the game counts it as a cumulative thrust and it becomes additive.

I guess that means they are currently balancing the ships they need for the single player, and once that is done, they need to get all other ships in line. As I believe they want to release it for all ships at once. I hope we will be able to test it soon, but I guess it's 6+ months out.

SCM modes are the worst part of ED aside from all of Odyssey. The thing that would fix is properly Ballance ship armour and weapons giving fighter the ability to heras large targets and retreat and large targets the ability to completely ignore solitary or small groups of fighters. Turret turn speeds being what they are will make big ships dominant when SCM speeds hit.....the Redeemer will be boss

What I don't get, is your aim in these videos is absolute garbage. You barely even PASS THROUGH the pip let alone hold it and trace, yet you are getting credit for hits on clear misses. I've let a full volley of repeaters till empty direct onto a target pip, get hit markers and everything, and enemy shields show zero damage. I just don't get it. The network code is trash or something, but dog fighting in this game is completely broken. How can you show my client hit markers but no damage has delivered to target? Makes no sense.
