*My dog recently passed away* he’d spent a year wanting to sleep on his own downstairs - - after he was diagnosed with “Kidney Failure” then out of the blue - - one night he didn’t go to bed downstairs - he lingered next to my bed.. so I went and grabbed him one of his dog beds and he slept next to me.. on his final night on this Earth - he randomly wanted to sleep next to me.. I’m both honoured and ugly crying. RIP to the best friend I ever had.

@@sms-ux5kl The dog maybe had cancer and a heart problem. If the cancer is allowed to weaken the dog too much, the heart attack can be very distressing right up to its last breath. Our cat had that condition and it really was the kindest thing to do, giving him what we prefer to call ‘the liquid lullaby’ . He had his last couple of days of beautiful sunshine roaming around his garden, then snoozing on his garden bench. I watched him as he looked around his garden and he was feeling physically miserable. He gave his little affectionate little meow that said “I love you too.” And he was cradled in my wife’s arms as he heard first my wife’s voice telling him how good a boy he has been, and my voice, the last thing he heard, telling him he’s my best boy and that I’ll always love him, as I gave the vet the nod to inject him.

Birds can be just as bad as dogs when it comes to biting especially cockatoos my grandparents owned a cockatoo and she nailed my grandfather several times with that sharp beak of hers his worst was his backside she drew blood when she bite him on the backside where his spine would be he literally felt the tip of her upper beak touch his spine. Many dogs if cared for properly and raised by a loving owner will return the favor my grandmother has been blessed she’s had 5 dogs in her life time two Belgian shepherd’s, two Siberian huskies and a shih tzu and all of her dogs are very well behaved they never laid a tooth on anyone and even 1 year old babies can be around them. A dog no matter the breed has a forgiving heart there are many bad cases of animal cruelty all over the world where the dog is so badly neglected it’s on death’s doorstep and yet that dog despite its ordeal is forgiving and ready to accept the loving touch of the very thing that hurt him dogs bring out the best in people they ll never judge you or forsake you they don’t care what kind of car you drive how much money you have in your bank account or what you look like on the outside all they can do is love you and be supportive in your time of need maybe it’s time you follow their advice and forgive rather than hold on to a grudge who knows one day you might decide one day to get a emotional support dog or a therapy dog and one of those dogs might be the one that saves your life one day just when you need it the most a neighbor of mine didn’t like dogs herself she wanted to get ride if her two dogs that she rescued from her son in law but all that changed when a man forced his way into her house wearing nothing but his underwear and tried to attack her her oldest dog who’s 10 picked up on his intentions and she charged towards him and really laid him open big time his hand was covered in blood and very likely permanently damaged from the bite inflicted upon him by her dog. He was in so much pain that he stood up and ran out the door didn’t even take anything on his way out after he had left my neighbor had closed the door and locked it then she went to her dog who had just saved her life she fell to her knees and gave her dog a big hug thanking her for saving her life as well. She changed her mind that night too she decided to keep her dogs because in her exact words “ I don’t know where I would be if my dogs where not here with me I would be dead she said the person who pinned me down she said that she truly believed that he was trying to kill my me because he had me pinned down snd I couldn’t move my arms or legs or grab anything to use as a weapon that was near by

Put my pup Maximus Leopold Prime down today. His last day featured a pup cup, car ride, cheeseburger, family visit, 1 hr + walk, and puppy massage. I held him as he crossed over the rainbow bridge. He was 14 with a fractured jaw & infection, progressive heart murmur, and couldn’t eat anymore. We don’t remember the last time his tail wagged. He was holding on for us ❤

Seeing this video reminds me of my fur baby. I lost him this May to cancer. It has been one of the hardest things to process. I miss him everyday. The first time I came home hit me the hardest. For close to 10 years, he was there to greet and shower me with love as soon as I opened that door. Recently I read the book, An Unbreakable Spirit: The Legend and Legacy of Chico, and it reminded me that I am not alone in my grief. Pets bring so much to our lives. I know my dog changed my life, and I will never forget him. I was looking for ways to honor his memory, and I finally decided to make a donation in his name to the local animal shelter. I plan to continue this tradition every year on his birthday.

I lost my dog on august 20th and it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done , when he died that day a part of me died too. he was my best friend , anytime I was crying he would come over and comfort me , when he was happy he used to have the biggest , brightest smile. but then he got an infection then, he escaped outside on my street and ate a slug and he started to cough up blood and when he went to the bathroom it would just be blood and the vet said that if we let him live for longer he would pass away within 2 days and he was already in pain so I gave him a hug and said my goodbyes and the vet put him to sleep and I’m getting a paw print done for him 🐾 and I’m getting his blanket made into a teddy bear 🧸. I miss him so much. he only had just turned 2 at the start of august, he was so so young I just wish he didn’t pass away but at least his pain and suffering is at an end now. I miss you so much Louis you were my best friend R.I.P 🕊💔 I hope your up with all your doggy friends now :) I’ll see you in another life buddy 💗

I had this happen to me too. My dog a year before his passing he became blind, and went from a playful and happy dog to a dog that just wants to lie down and sleep. He could barely walk near the end of his road. When we got a call from the vet they said he had a kidney Failiure and internal bleeding, and there was nothing they could do. He was a morkie and loved to run around and play. On his last morning, I took him for his last walk. He couldn’t really walk so I put him in a wagon and rode him around, to give him one last look at me and feel the wind on his face. It was the perfect golden sunrise for his last day. He knew that it was his last day, so I spent the entire night and day with him. When it was time, I gave him one big hug. I looked at his eyes. I could tell he wasn’t feeling good. I remember the first day I picked him up, when he was so energetic and playful and loved to run around and play catch. All the years after long days at school from bullying and just school in general, he would always be home, at the same time, waiting for me so we could play. I was so sad, it’s so indescribable. My whole family was allowed to say one last thing to him. I told him thank you for everything you gave to me and thank you for being apart of my life. I cut a little piece of his fur off and kept it with me. I made an ornament of his paw print to hang up on Christmas. He got me through so many difficult times, and he was amazing. His name was Buster. He died 1 month before his 7th birthday. I remember when they kind of put him to sleep, I was allowed to hold him. He was bacically snoring, and I gulped down my tears and just said I’ll see you later, and then kissed right on his head. He grunted at me, since he really couldn’t move or feel anything. Losing a pet is one of the hardest things you will ever do. I know how you feel.

My parents just told me my dog has cancer that destroys her bones and has less than a week to live, I’m still bawling my eyes out. This reminds me of my boy. He’s half GSD, half black lab. 11yrs old and while still very healthy, he’s slowing way down and you can see stiffness getting into his joints more and more. My best friend for over 10yrs, I hope I have this opportunity to give him a great last day whenever the time comes. Seeing your pets grow old is a privilege that not everyone gets to experience. Best poem ever written too. My heart breaks just thinking about his end, and not sure how I’ll cope when I have to say farewell.

My lab mix is 14. He’s sore and has trouble getting up if he’s been laying down for a while we’re going up the stairs with me for bed. I’ve just been recommended a med called Libreyla for their arthritis. I heard it’s a game changer. I’m so sad because I think I’m in denial that my dogs days are definitely numbered 😢. I recently lost my best boy Reggie a few weeks back. A jet black Cockapoo with the soul and character of a human. He was 14 when he passed and thats good innings for a dog - but im guessing thats due to his Poodle dna. This video tears me up big time, because I feel so damn lucky that he died simply of old age and in his sleep. No pain, no suffering. He just slipped away. Same but i didnt get to say goodbye to either of them my first dog i had for 9 years was put down when i was asleep my second dog died of cancer while i was at football practice 1 year later and my 3rd dog died last month while i was at basic training she had a heart disease whete her heart was enlarged i didnt find out she died till 3 days later when i got to call home she was 4 she died 1 month before her birthday my second dog was also 4 when she died my first was 9 i had him when he was 8 months old till the day he died in 2017 and my second died in 2018 my dogs would be 15 and 9 and 5 years old if they were all still alive

Eventually you could see that she got so sick she was miserable and couldnt even walk anymore without falling over. I then knew it was time. But I wouldnt of done it if she was still showing will to live and was still able to eat and enjoy things in life..

My dog will live until she takes her last breath, no matter the cost of pain care, I will be there just as she has been for us.. Pain is a reminder we aren't dead yet, and we all live with it. Together, equally, life and then death. We all should have the same 24 hours.. it's what we do with it.......

Desiree Bryant - I am so sorry to read about your loss. My Marie, a Rottweiler, died June 29, 2006 at 10:30 AM due to soft tissue sarcoma. I had to take her to the vet to put her down because she was suffering. Marie was a great dog. I miss my girl to this day. I remember all the fun I had with her. Remember your Rottie when he was in good health too. I have had other dogs in the years since. I did not replace Marie. I just have had other canine companions. All the joy they bring is worth the journey with them. But I do not forget.

Tomorrow marks one year since my best friend passed away. To think one year ago right now, I was laying in my bed with him sobbing over the fact of what was going to happen the next day. Looking in his eyes and seeing he wanted to go. It was super hard and still is. I still miss him so much, and I’m crying while writing this. I’m surprised I have made it a whole year without him. I used to think what would I do without him, and thought I would never make it, but I have. It’s been tough not having a piece of me here with me, but I know it was for the best. Putting pets down is so hard.

My cat died last night from his diabetes. We had him since he was only a few weeks old, if that. He was only 8. I'm still in shock, I don't think he will ever recover. Here's the story: My cat has type two diabetes. He has to eat every morning and night, then get a shot of insulin. 2 units in the morning, 1.5 units at night. He wouldn't eat that morning, however, my mom gave him 2 units of insulin anyway. Fast-forward to about 7 PM that night. We had to go into town, about 15 to 20 minutes away to pick up prescriptions for my mother and I, and also to get dinner because we had nothing to eat at home. We tried to get all the cats inside because it was supposed to rain, but we couldn't. My cat we will call K wasn't anywhere to be seen, so we just left. We came home about 2 hours later. My dad took the dog outside in the front yard, and had me call K. When I opened the door, I saw him laying in the yard about 6 feet from one of the back doors (we have 2 because we got an addition.) He didn't look ok. It wasn't at all like him to just lay down in the yard like this. He had a sort of emptyness in his eyes that made me think he was dead. I went through the back door he was near to get my dad. K had used his last little bit of energy to move 4 feet closer to the door. My dad picked him up, carried him inside, and put him on the floor. I didn't see it happen, but my dad claims K tried to jump out of his arms. I went to get my sister, then called my mother (who was at work.) We forced honey and sugar water into his mouth to try to get his sugar back up. However, nothing worked. We tried to test his blood sugar by pricking his ear, but the thing (I can't spell it) was broken. The only way he was responding was he was looking at us without moving his head. We rushed him to the emergency vet. However, we live in an EXTREMELY rural town, so the closest one was 40 minutes away. My mom called them in the car, so they were ready when we got there. His paws were blue, and he was unrepsonive completely. We brought him in. The first thing the vet did was check his heartbeat and breathing. Her face fell. She said, "He's deceased." There was silence. We said our goodbyes, then me, my sister, and my dad went to the car to wait while my mom paid for his cremation. We are still all bawling our eyes out. They say only the good die young, and I'm starting to believe it. He was still so young. Cats aren't considered elderly until 11.

Sadly it’s gonna happen, they don’t live forever. I’ve had my Chico for 16 years I got him when I was only 4 years old. It broke me when we had to put him down, I didn’t wanna eat I couldn’t sleep, I spent my days/weeks crying. I dreamt about him every night for a month. My heart felt heavy like it was sinking to my stomach. It gets easier after losing them, but you never forget and sometimes you just have random days where you think about them and you need to have a good cry.
