My pup just went through this for the last 2 months! As soon as I noticed discharge and redness I took her into the vet right away. BUT as soon as her right eye healed up, she got the same thing in her left eye. The Vet said this can happen. Ointment in both eyes 7-14 days. For now she's all good

Hello, Doc. May I inquire if a swollen eye (just occurred about 2 hours ago, probably from an allergic reaction, then resulting in a bacterial infection) could wait overnight before receiving treatment? There is no available veterinarian at the moment. Thank you so much.

My two year old Rottweiler was diagnosed on Friday with a tumor in his eye. They recommended to remove the eye. Do you have any thoughts about possible surgery? Ed Ry

My canine currently has this. I took him to the vet the first day I noticed it (2 days ago). Today is the worst it's been. I have a steroid antibiotic and gabapentin. It looks bad. He's beat. They did the opthalmic tests and ruled everything else out. Freaked me out when I seen him the first time. I noticed it secreting more tears leading up to the doctor day although he didn't show any signs of swelling. I knew something was unusual.

Can Clavamox be given for an eye infection for my dog? A new vet prescribed this and I am very cautious about what I feed my dogs.

Hello Dr. Pete. How can you really tell the difference between conjunctivitis and glaucoma? My jack russell just turned 18! He had kept the right eye completely shut the past day. It has excessive fluid, clear and white. The sclera is red while it's white in the left eye. He droops his head to the right. Has no apetite (but also has 2 loose bottom wobbly teeth),

Hi Pete Excellent video and explanation. Our dog "Charlie" is a German Spitz Klein, and is now 14 years old,and was diagnosed with a tumor 4 months ago,and the Vet gave him 2 months to live, but he is still very active, and has always been a loyal and faithful companion. For the last 3 days he has had redness in his left-eye,and swollen at the bottom with a pink like blob. Is it possible to buy eye drops for him at the pet store,to see if it clears up? Unfortunately, because he has a heart murmor, the Vet will not operate on him, because he may not survive. Can you please advise what is the best treatment for "Charlie"? Kind regards Lew (York) England.

Hi Doctor Pete, thank you for your information! My dog had a pink eye in her right eye yesterday, because all the vet are currently full and I had to book an appointment with the vet until Tuesday. However, my dog gets better by today. She can open her eye, and less liquid coming from her eye now. May I know if the pink eye will heal itself without a treatment? Is it any danger to wait until Tuesday for her treatment?

@@daniellorenzo1062 take him to the vet. Last time I bought a eye drop (no chemical one), just the artificial eye drop (sorry about my English) and used it on her eyes, probably because of the dry weather. then she recovered in the next day. But I think it is really hard to say. if you can find a vet nearby, better to go to the vet.

Very informative and the Dr seems super knowledgeable but at the end of the day I guess you still have to take your dog to a vet and leave your wallet with them.
