Tim, Geoff (the bass here), and Avi all know each other. VoicePlay and Home Free were actually on the Sing Off together. Geoff actually arranged a song for Home Free ft. The Oak Ridge Boys ("Elvira").

Yes! I am so excited you guys are dipping into VoicePlay! They're the "theater kids" of acapella for sure. They always go all out with sets, costumes, and characters. There have been a lot of member changes and guest performances over the years, so if you watch more don't be surprised if you see unfamiliar faces pop up. I'd recommend their cover of the Halo theme, Carry On Wayward Son, their recent cover of Metallica's Nothing Else Matters (seriously, that one is a masterpiece) and I bet you'd get a kick out of Boy Bands in Five Minutes. That last one both is and isn't exactly what you'd think, and it's so much fun. Hope to see more VP on your channel!

It's always fun to see first time reactions to Voiceplay! You did not disappoint. Voiceplay is just the best! If you dontinue down this road, you will love it. Others have already given you a list of songs to hear and react to, you can't go wrong, trust me. They have no label, no manager, thus complete artistic control. Arrangements are done by either Geoff Castellucci, the bass, or Layne Stein, the beatboxer. They normally trade off each month. Whoever arranges has the video vision, plans the production, set, costume, makeup, etc. Final mix done by Ed Boyer who works with a lot of the big acapella groups. Subscribed in anticipation of more Voiceplay!

Or do you prefer Aerosmith's "Dream on"? Metallica's "Nothing else matters"? They covered them all. 🙂 Aaah, you're more into "classic" pop rock? No problem. What about Stevie Wonder's "Superstition"? Or Chris Stapleton's "Tennessee Whiskey"? Bonnie Raitts' "I can't make you love me"? Elvis Presley's "Can't help falling in love"? They did them all. 🙂 Epic songs from video games soundtracks? Check "My mother told me" (from both "Vikings" and "Assassins Creed V - Valhalla). Or "The Dragonborn comes", from Skyrim. Or the "Halo Theme", INCLUDING the explanation of "why that particular song" that takes the second half of the video, it's totally worthwhile. Or Imagine Dragon's "Warriors" (from "League of Legends"). Ah, no, you're more into series, either tv or animated? Then try Imagine dragon's "Enemy" (from the animated series "Arcane"), or Kate Bush's "Running up that hill" from "Stranger things"... Movies? I love how they made a story using Queen songs. It came about after Earl, the guy in the bed, had a health scare - appendicitis. Gods of the underworld fighint over his soul. :) The bass dude is Geoff Castellucci and yes he is a friend of Tim. He has his own channel of low bass covers. Maybe try Carry On Wayward Son, but there is ahuge catalogue of songs, in many genres.

There is no genre Voiceplay doesn't do. Thier version on Enemy by Imagine Dragons is top notch and connected to their other video game songs like The Dragonborn Comes and the HALO theme. And definitely another vote for Nothing Else Matters.

I think you might like what they did with Panic At The Disco’s songs in their Panic in 4 Minutes. It’s in two parts, but the total is 4 minutes so you’ll want to react to both together. (And there’s a cliff hanger.)

Hey guys, great to see you branching out and checking out Voiceplay, another group that I really enjoy. They take a more theatrical approach to most of their songs, makeup, costumes, set design, lighting, and handle a large amount of the production as well. They have a blast at Halloween, and go all out for that. As with Homefree all of them are outstanding singers, with exceptional bass and beat boxing. You can see how much they enjoy themselves, and while a lot of their covers are Disney songs, they have recently done a more reserved cover of Metallica's Nothing Else Matters that is incredible. If either of you have ever played halo, their cover of the theme song is well worth checking out. Also their Hoist the Colours, which is the extended hanging song from Pirates of the Caribbean, think of it as a really dark sea shanty!

I have subscribed to see more reactions to VoicePlay. Which in my opinion is the best Acapella group out there. Geoff Castellucci is the bass and he has his own solo channel where he sings low bass covers of songs. He usually multiplies himself on screen to show us that he's singing all the harmonies.

Yes, they really rocked this cover. Can't wait to see more of VoicePlay here. There is still plenty of other genres to choose from. Warriors, Dream On, Just Sing (Captions on is a must), Nothing Else Matters, Eleanor Rigby, Hoist the Colors, Running Up That Hill, My Mother Told Me, Halo, Dragonborn Comes, Superstition. Trapped: Billie Eilish in 3 Minutes, Panic! in Four Minutes Part 1 and Panic! in Four Minutes part 2 is a trilogy. They did the Panic! covers first, then went back and showed how they got in the mess they were in. Looking forward to seeing more! Oh, and Hall of The Mountain King is fun.

I loved your conclusion, "Queen brought Earl back to life!" How about gaming? Halo theme, Dragonborn Comes? Or, of course... Nothing Else Matters doesn't yet have millions of views, but they released it less than 2 months ago, and it's coming up on the first million fast. Help 'em out. You know an a cappella group can't possibly do a Metallica song... (wink wink, nudge nudge) give it a listen and help out. You'll be able to say you covered them back when they hadn't hit their first million for it. They just keep getting better... Queen in 5 is from 2018, Nothing Else Matters is 2023, so.... you won't be disappointed.

What they've done in the last couple of years has been crazy! Dream On (Aerosmith), Nothing Else Matters (yes, Metallica!), Warriors, Carry On Wayward Son , My Mother Told Me, Hoist the Colours (EPIC!)... and more. The bass (Geoff Castellucci) has his own channel and has some incredible songs there. He has a 5 octave range and does all the vocals, from basement bass to tenor. (And yes, Geoff and Tim Foust are friends, as are Home Free and VoicePlay].

Geoff ("Jeff") the bass, Tim, and Avi are all friends. Tim taught Geoff his growl technique to get even lower, although Geoff later learned subharmonics, and that gives him his signature super low and thick notes. If you guys likes rock, you've gotta check out their new "Seven Nation Army." It blew away reactors, really pushing the borders of acapella. "Nothing Else Matters", "Dream On", "Enemy", and "Warriors" are also great ones from them.

You might also enjoy Geoff Castelluci's (their bass's) solo channel; he isn't so much into Broadway and Disney, but tends more towards country, folksy and storytelling type stuff and Halloween fare. His covers of Ghost Riders In The Sky, Far Over The Misty Mountains Cold, and Sixteen Tons are not to be missed.

If you like the Beatles VoicePlay does a good job with “ Elenor Rigby “. I also love their take on Aerosmiths “ Dream on” . “ Carry on wayward son “ is a good one as well. Homefree, Pentatonix and VoicePlay is the trifecta of acapella groups and yes they’re all friends and have collaborated in the past. They were all on The Sing off but in different seasons. Pentatonix won in 2013. Homefree and VoicePlay competed in 2014 but Homefree won. Man if Tim Foust of HF and Geoff Castelucci of VP and Avi of Pentatonix got together it would be epic but our speakers would suffer 😊

Welcome to voice play. You are very fortunate that you get to find out about them from the beginning if you like. I have been a fan for over 10 years and I’ve seen in person how great they are. just so you know there is a quite a bit of production value work, but the voices and music are all them. They sound just that good in person live. Even though you’re not much into showtunes or Disney, they do a wonderful job with all of their videos. Lately, they’ve been doing quite a bit of old rock that I think you will enjoy. I particularly recommend. Carry-on my wayward son and dream on if you wanna stick with rock. My all-time favorite of their movie/musical numbers is the ooggie boogie song from nightmare before Christmas. Although this is Halloween is excellent and so is. hoist the colors. That last one in particular actually broke several reactors, so be cautious about that one. Ha ha ha Please, enjoy

Yaaaay, you did Voiceplay! And don't worry - sure, they have a lot of Disney/Broadway stuff, but they also have a lot of other stuff too - nobody does rock covers like Voiceplay! I can recommend 'Nothing Else Matters' (Metallica cover,) 'Carry On My Wayward Son' (Kansas cover,) 'Dream On' (Aerosmith cover,) and 'Warriors' (Imagine Dragons cover.) Oh, and they did an incredible version of the 'Halo' theme in tribute to a friend they lost during the pandemic (it's worth watching that video to the very end.)

They have had some changes to the team since this one, earl the one in the bed left for personal matters, and j none the coloured one left for the navy but does still do some. I would recommend nothing else matters (no theatrics). Panic at the disco part 1 and 2 but prefably with trapped Billie ellish before it, they make one story. The bass singer Geoff has his own channel as well. The band at the mo is Geoff bass, layne percussion with a beautiful singing voice and goofy as well at times, Eli the bald rock tenor and newer member and baby of the group cesar with the voice of ab angel.

I’ll add that you should also look at their Imagine Dragons covers, too. Both ‘Warriors’ (which VoicePlay says is kind of the prelude to ‘Dream On’ thematically) and ‘Enemy’ are great. And just a few minutes ago, Geoff premiered his version of ‘Sounds of Silence’ on his KZbin channel. Beautifully done. But maybe not quite what you might want. I suggest you listen to it anyway. Geoff Castellucci on KZbin. Non-rock, but stirring (on VoicePlay): ‘My Mother Told Me’, ‘Hoist the Colours’, ‘Dragonborn Comes’ and a pretty old one ‘Phantom of the Opera’. And ‘Halo’. And even if you think Disney isn’t for you, I’d still suggest ‘We Don’t Talk About Bruno’ and ‘I’ve Got Friends on the Other Side’. Both are spectacular and very catchy.

I thoroughly love VoicePlay and all the genres the cover, they doit dö amazingly well. If you're interestedin a good Covered of Queen or Elton John or Steelheart or anything I recommend to listen to Tommy Johansson. He is lead guitarist of Sabaton but also have a successful solo channel where he each week realeases a new spectacular cover. Anything from 1980ies power ballads to Spice Girls, with a metallic twist to it.
