There are also some tourist-friendly options, 1st class, VIP. With shower, yea 😁 They are just a few times more expensive than the regular ones. And provide no authentic experience of course. 😁 Also, nobody, except crazy heros 🤗, goes from Vladivostok to Moscow with a train. The flight would be noticeably cheaper than this exhausting 8-day train and it lasts for only 8 hours! Just envy your optimism 😅 I become zombie in such a train on the second day.

Aaaand a makeup in a train!)) What a russification) In a "Smilla's Sence of Snow" was something like: "I have only one simple work principle: I always make hot food. That's important when you live alone. It serves a mental hygienic purpose. It keeps you going." So, instant noodles is really what you can eat more than once))) But it has it's consequences - even visual ones. Alcohol helps to make any trip to become faster. +3 stable sleep hours if you're drinking some small amount. Also that hot water tap that you called "samovar" (selfboiler) is really named "Titan". I was extremely surprised at the beer appearance)))

Southern Siberia, is the birthplace of two major European and therefore North American haplgroups: R1a and R1b From there, they began their migration 7-8 thousand years ago to Europe.
@rdtgr84 жыл бұрын
Definitely not 8,000 years ago. In East Europe there is 10,800 years ago R1a skeleton from Vasylivka-on-Dnieper (Dniepropetrovsk oblast, Ukraine). R1b skeleton also presents in the same location but several centuries younger (10,200 years or something). However in Serbia's Iron Gates R1b skeleton is even earlier (around 11,000 years ago). In Latvia's Zvejnieki site 9,000 years R1b skeletons were found. In Russia's Karelia 7,600 years R1a, and in Khvalynsk (Saratov oblast) 7,100 years R1b and R1a were found. So you see. However, indeed in Mal'ta site of Irkutsk oblast, Siberia R* (not R1a, R1b or even R1* !!!) haplogroupped skeleton of boy was found with age around 24,000 years ago. So we might suppose migration from South Siberia to East European plain occurred somewhen between 24,000 and 11,000 years ago. The most probably they arrived there prior to 15,000 years ago
@НиколайЮжаков-м7ф4 жыл бұрын
@@rdtgr8 Ну, или так. Данные меняются. Но общее понимание примерно такое вроде.
@ВладимирПутин-е7м4 жыл бұрын
@@rdtgr8 So interesting. I'd love to see research on the linguistic migration associated with those travel groups; mapping the expansion of the ' R* ' ethnic groupings out of Siberia. Addendum: apparently Siberia is a Sanskrit (Indian) word meaning Military Outpost or Army Base ( I can not confirm this. I am not versed in ancient Sanskrit). Indian deities / idols have been discovered in Norther Siberia (central Siberia actually, not Arctic Siberia) and dated to 8 thousand years ago - shown to me by an Indian friend.) Wonder what 'haplogrouping' the norther Indians (Brahmans) are? Some 'dark haired Russians from Siberia are supposed to be genetically closer to northern Indian than Slavic ancestry. But I am not an expert. Opinions welcome.
@rdtgr84 жыл бұрын
@@ВладимирПутин-е7м Indians has two R-derived haplogroups: R2 and R1a-Z645. First one, R2 was spreaded among Central/East Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and probably the rest of Central Asian region as early as 7,300 BC (and maybe earlier). Remnans of R2 and L haplogroupped people were found in all of those countries. This people were pre-Aryan and pre-Turkic natives of Central Asia. Most probably they spoke languages of theoretical Elamo-Dravidian superfamily. So they are responsible for Dravidians arrival to India. Second one, R1a-Z645 is pan-Aryan haplogroup and was arised near 3,500 BC in surroundings of border of West Russia with Belarus and North-East Ukraine (we may suppose this by earliest spread of R1a-Z645 descendants and as well its direct predecessor R1a-M417 which was found in Kharkiv region of Ukraine with age 3300-3000 BC). As I stated before other R1a clades were present in Ukraine and West Russia since at least 8,800 BC (or 10,800 yaers ago). The language associated with original R1a-Z645 people was probably predecessor of Balto-Slavic and Indo-Iranian langiuages (it was also PARTIAL predecessor of Germanic languages). However I believe it was not proto-Indo-European because R1b people from Latvian Zvejnieke who were probably predecessors of Celtic (and partially Germanic) speakers lived separately for at least 2,000 years before R1a-Z645 creation. So I believe in around 3,500-3,0000 BC separate proto-Celtic and pan-Aryan communities already existed. In around 3,000-2,300 BC part of R1a-Z645 people (mostly of R1a-Z645-Z93 clade) were spread from West Russia into Middle Volga and South Urals where we have original Indo-Iranian archeological cultures arised: Srubnaya and Sintashta-Andronovo. Andronovan (Indo-)Iranians further arrived into South Siberia, Xingjiang and most of Central Asia before 1000 BC (we have many Europoid skeletons with R1a-Z645-Z93-Z2124 and native-EastEuropean autosomal component in all of these places). However, why I wrote (Indo-) in previous sentence? Because as I stated they had Iranian R1a-Z645-Z93-Z2124 while Indo-Aryan R1a-Z645-Z93-L657 is (almost?) absent in those excavations. So the exact route of R1a-L657 between 2700 and 1500 BC remains quite unclear. Maybe this is connected to burning of skeletons ritual which deprived us material for research. However since Vedic Sanskrit and Avestan languages are very similar between each other it is doubtful that Indo-Aryan and Iranian routes are significantly different.
@rdtgr84 жыл бұрын
@@ВладимирПутин-е7м Now about the pre-history of Central Asian R2 and East European R1. Yes, it seems they arrived to those respective regions from Siberia between 20,000 and 11,000 years ago. But did them arise in Siberia? Of course not. R haplogroup together with its sister Q haplogroup (native for some Siberian peoples and Amerindians) are subclades of P1 haplogroup wich is in its turn subclade of P. It seems they have Asian-Pacific origin and most probably are native to "Sundaland" (originally a big pice of land which currently is divided between Malaysia, Indonesia, Timor, Philippines and some underwater parts of South-Chinese sea). At least, both P* and P1 are currently present among native Philippinean (Aeta, also called Negritos) and Timorease peoples. And its turn P haplogroup is subclade of K2b, other clades of which are spreaded between Papuans, Melanesians and native Australians. So we again have Sundaland and its surroundings. And moreover sister for K2b is K2a haplogroup which is main haplogroup for East, South-East and some of North Asians (Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, Burmese, Thai, Vietnamese, Malaysians, Indonesians, Philippineans, Yakuts, Khants, Nenets etc.). So you see: P1 haplogroup arised from Asian Pacific coast (probably Sundaland or South China)and arrived into what-is-now Russian Far East where it divided on Q (predominantly going further alongside the coast into America) and R (which deepened into mainland Siberia probably alongside Amur river). Then after Siberia R-people divided on R1 (going westward into East European plain) and R2 (going south-westward into Central Asia and Iran) streams. And this formed this landscape we see after 11,000 BC.

Traveling along the Trans-Siberian Railway is like traveling for me, I don’t know, to Lofoten in Norway! This is actively advertised, but in fact is far from the best option. I am always guided by the fact that the best travel route is the one you yourself made! You torment yourself on the train along the road through all of Russia, you don’t really see anything, short stops in which it is difficult to relax or plunge into the local atmosphere. It is doubtful pleasure, as for me, it is better to choose interesting places and move independently, living in places of stops for at least a day or two. So, having experienced this on yourself, you don’t agree with me?

Don't feel bad about how rough you feel on such a long journey. I took the VIA rail train from Winnipeg to Vancouver and after a few days of Sask prairie and the prairies it gets kinda mind numbing. You get cabin fever and the constant rocking and rumbling of the train is annoying. VIA is horrible as you stop 2-3X every hour and pull over on a siding to let the super long freight trains pass by. Guess what you get to see? Freight trains cars. LOL The borsht looked great and my Mom used to make it. There is a web site called Ushanka Show on You Tube with a guy who grew up in Kiev and talks about growing up in the Soviet Union. The vodka biz was real and they would always look for a Third. Third person so 3 of them could drink a whole bottle and not get poisoned. Will you be our third was a common phrase. However it is not as bad as back then but vodka and drinking partners is a Slav way of life and I grew up with that.

Siberian crown is not the best beer, so if you like it, better to take it in trains :)
