I'm confident that Al is quite well aware of this fact. But, his wagon is pretty full with tasks that must fall into priority order. I've heard him mention something previously about building a position for the saws and stuff (waxing back to the fabulous work area he built in the barn at the previous property). In time, we'll see these changes made. No doubt.

Al I like the sliding windows you make for some ventilation. I think you should have considered a better backing for the door like marine or exterior plywood. OSB doesn't like moisture and your ends and exposed sides will delaminate quickly. Nice to have a warm space to work and build during cold and rainy weather.

I think you guys need to build a garage for your equipment as an upcoming project. Watching all that new equipment siting out in the elements makes me crazy. Invest in some battery minders for those battery’s. They don’t use much power.

Hi. The cows were funny when you dropped the bale. Either they were rubbing their heads because they were saying, " I love you, delicious food" or they were rubbing their faces on the bale to scratch an itch and realized it was getting their faces warm & were like, "oh yeah, let's get warmer!" 😂

Al, could you position some places in barn for a camera to capture the interaction with chickens (feeding and counting eggs), feeding whatever animals are inside the other stalls. Take a survey and see just how many of us long time subscribers miss the daily routine choirs. Could lengthen the videos which would not hopefully need any editing. Absolutely do not find daily chores boring.

Hey Al - They make battery heated blankets as well - you wrap your battery and then plug it in when it's really cold - it keeps your battery warm. A block heater would help too. Both would be on my machine if I was doing what you do... Thanks for the videos!

@@davidgetchell3633 - I had a questionable battery when I was in college (in the 70's) for my VW beetle - it would not start the car when it was cold, and Ithaca NY had cold winters. I started taking the battery inside to keep it warm overnight and that made all the difference - until a good friend gave me a new Sears 36 month battery. It was nice not to have to lug the battery inside every night! So the120v heated blanket for the tractor battery might help Al with his questionable battery...

Hey Al, install a timer on the shop wall, and you can set a couple of times that will turn power the engine heaters. I also suggest to have a battery tender. This will save those battieries from low voltage

Agree on the bigger CCA battery, my Mahindra is 6.5 years old and still starts in those cold temps. Another fine job on the barn extension. Sweet Potato will be in there before the next video is posted!

Or get a 120v battery warmer blanket - just keeping an older battery warm can make all the difference. Plus synthetic oil for easier starts in cold weather!

That barn is beautiful, glad sweet potato is doing well. Once this barn is finished, you should build a storage unit for your big equipment to keep it out of the weather. Like the latest door, but you do need to close off the open ends of the windows material or despite the fact that there are a lot less insects around these days, they will get in and slowly fill them up and die when the Summer arrives. You can get a thin, transparent U section that once cut to length, slides over the two exposed ends.

Block heaters! !!!! Keep the engine blocks warm. Starting the tractors in freezing weather is hard on the engine bearings.

hello al and gina. an engine heater would really help with those cold starts. if the oil pan is steel get a magnetically applied heater. when started or needed elsewear, it is easily removed. two hrs on the job should be plenty
