Thanks, the W163 ML 270 is similar but maybe a bit more complicated, seem to have more tubes in the way. But need to see this to remove the water cooled alternator.

Good job! Espsecially that you explained the problem with the stuck levers. That what for sure causes my problem with the lak of power that disapears when you put the pedal to the metal a few times.

My problem is loss of power ,been told after examination that the turbo should be changed ,the front propeller moves slowly then stops ,and there is no movement from the back of the unit ,so a new turbo should be installed . The vehicle covered 155000 and is 22 years old .

I got some whistling/ wining noise about 2500rpm and loss of power at low register.. Could it exhaust manifold gasket? And what would be usual kind? There is no fault codes and i am pretty sure that it's coming down there somewhere? Thank you.🙂

I have oil leak inside intercooler pipes, i watched one of your videos where you explain oil separator leak and how to fix it to prevent oil in intercooler and intake manifold, and then you mention that turbo leak can also push a loat of oil into the intake manifold. Any idea how to fix that leak without dissasemling the turbo, for example change sime gasketa or something external, or turbo rebuild is needed when it leaks oil into the intercooler, intake manifold and all the pipe line?

My c220 CDI w203 2005 diesel makes a load noise but the boost pressure is correct, this happened a while after a new intercooler was fitted. can that be that the suction side has a loose inlet pipe? power is okay but slightly lazy. not much. I used EGR cleaner in the gas tank, a Shield product. can that have an effect on the load noise?

Amazing job! I will try it for my C270 to check because sometimes i have Check Engine light on and i have a weird whisper when i accelerate over 1.800 rpm it might be the turbo or only the conexion that you were taliking about. Thanks for the tutorial!

Im sure mine has this problem , is there a way of freeing up the veins inside that werent working on yours ? Sure mines the same , would it be a new turbo or would they free up with a clean ?

Good video, but the knocking with metal hammer on the hot case of the turbo is a big no no... you either use a rubber mallet or a wooden piece which you hit to push out the stuck parts. You can end up cracking the hot side hitting it like that.

Depends on how you treat your car. You could kill a reliable engine through bad treatment and make a high mileage on an engine that is known by being not reliable if you only treat it well and service in time. Some engines are called not reliable but in reality they’re not bad units but they earned such reputation from people who don’t know how to treat and service it.

Most likely the oil leak is internal not from the turbo

@@doit_vehicles Inspected turbo and turbine don't have any play on it. Car don't lose power and whining will stop when engine is warm around +70celsius

Hello ! That's a good question. No, it does not necessarily mean that the turbo flaps are stuck. The way to find out without removing the turbo is to disconnect the actuator and see if it moves in and out freely and if the vacuum will move it as well; There is a video I made on a turbo on ford focus ( same principle ) where I showed how to test these if you want to see .

On my w211 e220 cdi The turbo actuator moves just a little. Is it possible those vanes from inside the turbo to be stuck? Sometimes the car has a lot of boost and runs very well and sometimes the car just dont have boost at all. Also when the boost is good the car is like a diesel train. It leaves a black cloud behind

It looks like there are a couple of issues . If the black smoke comes when there is boost usually it's not because of the turbo . It needs a proper diagnose to find out ... But start with that actuator and investigate why is almost stuck . rust , phisical damage ?

@@doit_vehicles there it seems to be no damage. Now I am thinking for 2 reasons for my problem: the geometry is stuck, or the flaps from the intake manifold gasket also named Bermuda triangle because i have to remove half of the engine to acces it..

Great video buddy.. I LOVE YOU! but... you say that the actuator rod should be easy to push. I have an electronic Actuator that is impossible to move and the turbo is always losing pressure. Also, I have a lot of oil in the turbo intake from PCV (probably is faulty valve). These two makes the EGR valve get full with carbon and intake manifold. What advice you have for me.. apart of "sell the car" :)

I guess it's a newer car ? since the actuator is electronic . The best is to clean and stop the oil leak , read the live data and try to find out what is causing the losing pressure ; it might not be from the turbo .

I have the same issue but im pretty sure ive found out my problem is the intake manifold swirl flaps are dirty. Im swapping to a manifold with no swirl flaps soon ill let you know if it fixes the issue.
