Im sorry but if you hate engaging with your fans so much then get off social media. The main point of social media is FOR INTERACTION, and i definitely find it annoying and hypocritical how she tells her fans to touch grass when i simply cannot seem to escape her constant tweets and posts involving problematic behavior. What no one ever talks about in this “para-social” conversation is how celebrities intentionally cultivate these kinds of relationships with their audience as they stand to benefit hugely from the ensuing loyalty and attention. Fans are always blamed for ‘caring too much’ about a public figure, be it a traditional star or a KZbinr/Influencer, but we have to ask ourselves. Is it really fair to interact with your admirers as if they’re your friends, profit off of their love, and then turn around and accuse them of obsession? It’s called a para-social relationship for a reason. A relationship goes two ways.

Thank you for this, I know I've seen a lot of people explain this in videos discussing parasocial relationships and yet I still we get folks talking about fan should touch grass and shit. I know it’s not something to get too worked up about, but when she called her albums mediocre pop and said we were dumb for falling for it, it really hurt. I found her music in my freshman year of high school, every girl I knew sang juicy in sophomore year and when her hot pink album came out I listened to every song and would make other friends do so too. We would all anxiously eat for her next single or album to come out. Those songs gave me and so many other girls confidence and are tied to fun times, so it was like a punch to the gut to hear her say that. I stopped listening to her music months ago but this made me and a lot of people I know disappointed :/

So many woman like her have come in music industry and just like her have taken their couple of years of success to their heads and now are nowhere to be seen. I saw a comment saying that Doja said before that she has ADHD and is not medicated. My girlfriend has ADHD and because of her, I know how dysregulated someone's emotions can become because of it. It's not easy to live with ADHD and actually know yourself and what you feel, not what your dysregulated thoughts and emotions do. Also, Doja is on a contract which she can't escape and is overworked by it; I honestly can't imagine how she can have all those deadlines and expectations while not being medicated for her ADHD. Her fans have a right to feel hurt and the public to be weirded out, but I wish people would not assume everyone is disorder free.

I always gave her the benefit of the doubt. I have stood by Doja for so long and seeing her take her own fans' dedication for granted really just made me feel like I've been wasting my time wanting to support her. This isn't even really the breaking point for me, I already felt some sort of way about her mocking Amber Heard's testimony so hearing that she's perfectly fine with dating (and possibly MARRYING) someone who has admitted to being a groomer and using his platform to take advantage of his female fans really made me feel too uncomfortable to keep up with her as frequently, especially considering she is cool with women who have publicly suffered at the hands of men (ex. Megan thee Stallion). Everything she's been saying/doing in the past 2 months have been so contradictory and plain hypocritical that I really don't think I'll ever be a stan again, stanning her and being apart of her fan community really helped me through some emotionally tough times and it truly irks me to see her act out against us like this.
