Exchange the urban heat of the Sunset Strip for the warm wilderness of New Mexico, as Dokken bring their timeless convertible Ferrari rock’n’roll power to the table with some key modifications along the creative path. Working with engineer Bill Palmer over the course of a year at his studio in Santa Fe, the Dokken flavours remain as potent as ever, yet they’re also sprinkled with some desert seasoning which gives Heaven Comes Down a richness hitherto unseen on a Dokken album.
You want to rock? Sink your teeth into ‘Fugitive’, which rides some shimmering guitar work courtesy of 20+ year member Jon Levin, and if you want ballads, head on over to ‘I’ll Never Give Up’, hanging on that Coliseum chorus, Levin laying down a landmark solo. The pattern of Heaven Comes Down never falters in delivering the goods on both sides of the fence. ‘Just Like A Rose’ brings the Pacific Coast Highway to desert plains with its smooth, effortlessly-driven gears, and ‘Saving Grace’ carries a mystical malevolence. But ‘Santa Fe’ is perhaps the most revealing with Don Dokken opening up with what amounts to a ‘life-moment biography’: a spartan acoustic arrangement allowing the rich yet road-driven vocals to frame what might well prove to be the defining moment of Dokken’s career.
Mixed by Kevin Shirley (Aerosmith, Iron Maiden, Joe Bonamassa) and produced by Bill Palmer and Don Dokken, fans will love it, neutrals will be wonderfully surprised by some of the ingredients within Heaven Comes Down.

My brother introduced me to Dokken in the late 80's when he was in the Navy and I was probably around 12 or 13 at the time. I was just learning how to play drums in band class at school, and I immediately began modeling my playing style like Mick Brown. My teen years were spent dreaming of being in a band like Dokken. To this day, my favorite music video is It's Not Love. How exciting that must have been performing on a flat bed trailer, rolling through town! That one part in the video where Mick flips this drumstick and Don looks down at it, and then back at the camera, his expression always got me. 😂 To this day, I still listen to the first Dokken albums (Tooth & Nail, Back For The Attack, etc.) and they always bring back many great memories. Because Dokken rhymes with rockin'. 😉👍

Great stuff Don. Mike from Australia here. I met you back in 2001 at HOB Las Vegas. Will always be a very special night seeing Dokken for the first time after being a fan since Tooth and Nail and getting to go backstage and meet you, John Norum, Barry Sparks and Wild Mick. Was truly a great night. Will be back in Las Vegas next April 25 - May 2 and hoping Dokken may be playing somewhere nearby. Love the new stuff. It is so good to hear that all 10 songs on the new album are all A songs with no filler at all. A shame that the record company made you drop 4 songs off the album. Hopefully they will surface somewhere in the future. You are a legend Don and it's great to see you looking happy and healthy amongst the mountains of Santa Fe. Looks like you have found your place of peace and serenity. Would love to get there one day. Cheers

Don's an amazingly cool person!I remember being in the studio sessions when he was working on the album with M.Lesnick,it had the song "Sunless Days" on it.He would have me run to 7 Eleven to get Red Wine and Benson and Hedges cigarettes.It was an honor to have been a fly on the wall for 1 week or so, just observing.When he was recording and he liked something he would say,"I'll buy that",type thing.He was also cool, he listened a bit to the demo's I was working on at the time with the band I was in before We Are The Black Things,the band was Raven's Cry.He would listen and comment.This was in a studio off like Devonshire and Desoto, 2002,thank you Don! tone raven-We Are The Black Things(W.Hollywood CA!)

I always liked DOKKEN and he's right when you get older you see things differently, you grow, you change you get wiser hopefully. But once you start getting to the top of that Hill if that Hill is not Jesus Christ and his word the Holy Bible, our instruction book your life has been a waste of time! And we will either be saved and redeemed and truly repent by the time we die or Jesus Christ, our creator, redeemer, our savior and judge returns to judge the living and the dead or we will be in the Lake of Fire and our names will be blotted out of the book of life forever! We will either be in the Lake of Fire or with Jesus in heaven and on this planet a new one a total new one just like it was before our first two parents disobeyed God and put us in the fall and the curse. We will either be saved and redeemed or we won't, saved or lost, sheep or goat, Heaven or the Lake of Fire, only two choices ladies and gentlemen the only one true Living God is Jesus Christ. God gave us a free will and we got to make a decision before we die or he returns that's it everyone has a free will that God gave us and there's only two choices and these choices are Eternal decisions that we have to make. And even someone that is an unbeliever, if you can't see what's going on on the planet for the one world order and you can't see that we are in the last days just from common sense and looking around and I don't know what to tell you anymore you are a totally lost successfully brainwashed individual confused and lost.

yo brother! if you are ever in west cental Florida, we must ride. they say Florida is flat. bullshite. i can show you roads that don'tlook like Fla. Brooksvile , Mt Dora , Homassasa, Ocala. and all year long. looking fore ward to more work from you and your crew. i grew up on your music . it slightly inspired my work in the early 90's. look up Crystal Talon. there are 4 songs from a demo tape that a fan put on you tube. we lost most of our recordings over the years. 52 original songs. these 4 remain. titles are " Double suiside" , " Second glance" ," The Hunter" and " Day and Night". those were good times and i always had Dokken playing in the 280 z . mostly i rode my motorcycles to town and band rehearsals. quit drinking and playing in 1996 but kept my gear. still playalone at home. 53 now and still ridin .just don't have band mates anymore. they all died or went nutz. we are thrilled to see you still out there doin it! i support you my man ! good stuff. And yea , George could play but his otherstuff didn'timpress me. there was something special about you particular four guys that made that sound. in ourband , i was the sole guitarist. we had two basses ( yea , crazy . it sounded good)one bass was the lead vocalist. we all had input . so after years , the singer tried to play our songs in his new band. it was terrible. thier stuff was fine but they couldn't replicate my guitars or the drummer.
