Dolby Atmos Measurements & Calibration - REW & Audyssey MultEQ-X - Center Channel - Part 2

I move onto the center channel speaker with REW, The Spatial Audio Calibration Toolkit from ‪@joentell‬ and ‪@TechnoDad‬, and Audyssey's MultEQ-X Room Correction Software. I wanted to calibrate a system without using the internal test tones from REW. Luckily, we have a great Blu-ray Disc that archives this with full-range random pink noise, which is perfect for full-range measurements using an RTA in REW. The center channel is an extremely important speaker to get right because being able to hear dialog correctly in movies is paramount. You should not need to increase a center channel by +2 above your other speakers just to be able to hear dialog correctly. After a perfect EQ your center speaker should measure 75db just like all of your other speakers and sound perfectly clear.
This is using a new method of importing Target Curves using Audyssey's MultEQ-X. I'd like to shout to ‪@ocaudiophile‬ for giving me the idea that this was possible and I wanted to see if it would work with the new Audyssey MultEQ-X update that allows you to import target curves now.

EDIT: I've found a fix for the EQ roll-off issue, will talk about it next video. It's an elegant fix.

@@hdmoviesource excellent. I’ve got all eleven speakers hugging the target curve within less than half a DB. The clarity now is absolutely amazing. I’m hearing details in the soundtrack that I never knew were there. Thanks again for all of your in-depth videos. I’m still using my mini-dsp for my subs. I have two butt kicker advance transducers on two of my main chairs. One of two dedicated sub outs on the receiver is dedicated for those because I wanted to send them an unaltered signal.

Hey Carl, Wow, so chuffed with the reference to my comment and fair play for your concideration. At the end of the day what matters is how your system sounds to you, no matter how you get there and given the compromises we all face. Hi Carl if I can please ask you a question? After you have done all your measurements for all your speakers in REW and your happy with the results. HOW do you get them results to your Receiver ? What steps do you take and software? Sorry I've seen OCA also doing heaps of similar measures with REW but I'm stuck on how to get them into the receiver. Be a great help mate cheers Ned

You need software called MultEQ-X, then you can load the text files to that, then send it to the receiver.

@@nedkulic2164 If you could actually get the phone app to convert everything and send it to the receiver, it should be the same quality. But, I personally will never use it again because MQX is so good, and far easier to use. There's things you just can't do on the phone app.

I haven't tried, it looks like a really cool way to do it. I'm not sure about the target curve though.
