The GachaBoxx shows were amazing, they filmed the last one just last Saturday so that'll be coming out at some point GS are taking a bit of a slower year this year. They have completed two albums, an EP and several tours since 2023 and they need some time to regroup and focus on family, so not sure much more DOLL$BOXX stuff besides the live DVD will be coming imminently. The various members are doing solo and side project work for a lot of this year and we will probably hear more from them at the time of their 16th anniversary concert in October

The recent GachaBoxx tour shows have been a blast, with some of most interesting parts being the talk segments, with members reflecting on their 15 years together, how they met Fuki, and so on. Actually, the best GS/DB event I’ve ever seen was Doll$ Festa in July 2018, with Fuki Commune-Isao of Babymetal’s Kami Band and Mao of Fuki’s old band Light Bringer (nowadays working with Lovebites et al.) among the personnel-Unlucky Morpheus, and Keiko Terada of Show-Ya also on the bill-that was simply spectacular. But the current GachaBoxx tour has not only had great performances but a poignancy to it, with tears flowing. For me Hana’s drums and vocals with Fuki have been the individual performance highlight of the DB segments. Looking forward to the finale.

Oreo for sure is a talent 🧡 Oreo has a ballet background, so all the stuff you've seen in the past, whether it's older GS when they had dancers or in general some of more choreographed performances that involves the group, all of that was choreographed by Oreo. So performance is something that’s very much on her mind. And yes, she has “the entertainer” title in the group. And what you said about Hana, I don’t think that’s all that controversial 😄 Drums are essentially the first instrument she took seriously (even before she took singing seriously) and she has been playing it quite a bit longer than she played guitar. I would say she’s a good guitarist and an excellent drummer. Also to confirm it, I’ve got a chance to see two Gacharic Spin and DOLL$BOXX shows and they sound every bit as good live. And Hana’s drumming was definitely one of the highlights, it’s like she never took a break from DB for the past 6 years. Her drumming sounded crisp, tight and very controlled. It seems like drumming comes more naturally to her and she feels more comfortable and confident behind the drum kit, which allowed her to be more energetic and flashy than even you see here.

I hope your viewers are learning your views on keyboard players by now? Lets hope so. Oreo, is a joy to watch. As you have seen she can take the lead vocal and does not play her key boards at all. Agree about Hana's drumming. When she drums and sings, it is amazing. As with some other bands, Doll$boxx have set a high standard for your reactions and reviews so it was a excellent score for this performance of Toy Soldiers.

Yes Doll$boxx reformed for a tour that started in December and ends this weekend...only in Japan unfortunately but with Hana on drums (they kept the line up the same - but for some of the encore songs through the tour they had Angie and Yuri involved in DB encore or Fuki involved with GS encore)

Another great review. First, your rant about Oreo was right on the money. She is an amazing keyboardist and performer, and like you, the fact that she is willing to leave her station is a huge plus. Also, although I would have given this song a higher score, I fully understand your logic with your 8.6. Yes, not only do you have a high expectation for this band, which shows your respect for their talent, your have given GS a number of 9's in the past and if I remember right, once it was a 9.8. I am pretty certain this is a rare event and I'm not even sure if you have given any band a higher score.

If you want to see Hana abusing the drums: Subliminal (same liveshow 2018), Jyoushiki Destroyer (with GS from 2016), and Black Survival (with GS from 2023).

Comments about what keyboardists can't or shouldn't do seem rather silly when we have seen Oreo in other songs rocking out on her keyboard while literally sitting on top of it. She's an entertainer for sure, and it gets even more obvious in songs like Hunting Summer, Zubari Hatsujouki and Ben Jan Dan. As for Hana, even though she's great on guitar and pretty much any other instrument I've seen her play, I have to agree that I prefer her on the drums. Which is kind of ironic since she was originally a guitar/bass player before Gacharic Spin.

Drums didn’t follow guitar and bass. Hana learned piano young, and studied piano, guitar, and drums in arts high school. She played drums in a band while in that school and later in the band Heian with Koga. That gig started a bit earlier than the bass-playing gig with Straight Flush / Armeria. Hana has said though that it was while with GS that she properly studied and mastered the technical aspects of drumming.

I fully agree on the high expectations they set or themselves. I was able to see them live on their GS x Doll$boxx tour in Japan last December and while it definitely was one of the best concerts I've seen in a long time, it still was a bit disappointing, because they only were as good as I expected them to be, not better. Mainly, because they didn't mix it up more. It really was strict 50/50 between GS and DB, except for the encore, where Fuki joined the full GS line up. I was hoping for more of that, considering how often they rearrange stuff on a regular basis otherwise. But all that aside, still a fantastic show absolutely worth going to Japan for. And after their six year hiatus where I thought I'll never get to see Doll$boxx live, it really was great finally seeing them live. Now let's hope for some new material as well 😀

Love how you laid into those commenters on keyboardists. Oreo is an amazing Keyboardist with a lot of energy and showmanship. I had the pleasure of seeing Gacharic Spin last April with my brother and he said he loved watching Oreo because she was dancing and moving around the whole concert.
