I was recently in Norway and saw a lot of these other wise known as Nisse or Tomte and loved seeing all kinds displayed in shops.
What you need:
2 adult socks for the sweater and hat
1 white tube sock
Filling - White Rice or Epson Salts or kitty litter
Small tiny hair elastics
Pink blush
Kitchen string
Glue stick & hot glue gun
Styrofoam cone 4" or toilet roll, or fluffy stuffing or simply card stock
Various ribbons, buttons, beads etc...skies the limit!
beard options (yarn, fun yarn, faux fur)
Felt
scissors

Your videos are amazing and your gnomes are so sweet! May I suggest that you use a wooden skewer/chopstick to hold yarn down instead of your scissor. Also prevents burns!

Great video! I watched the first gnome video, then this one. I'm new to making gnomes & love all of the beard alternatives. It's also helpful that you tell other alternatives. Cute gnomes!

Thanks for posting this. I made some last year for my Mom at the senior's lodge and the response was shocking...the workers, the residents, they all want one! I wrote down your youtube channel for Mom to show everyone. They then came back and asked what I made the beards of... hope they saw this video.

wow wonderful to hear...Im glad they loved it so much... simply and cost efficient was where I was going with this so many can enjoy it! The beards are made of yarn or anything I could find that was fuzzy. I prefer it over faux fur due to cost. The yarn is attached to a piece of felt with hot glue.

I didn't want to pay $3.00 for a little patch of fake fur from Hobby Lobby, I went to Five Below and found a white furry $5.00 blanket that works perfectly for the beards!! I just took the seam apart on the blanket and now just cut my beards out of the furry top. Just a tip for anyone trying to save money on the crafts! Love your video!

You have an owl one?, oh, I gotta see that one, my mom passed away in 2014, due to Myeloma Cancer, she collected owls, and I got her collection, plus she handed down to me, her owl fascination of collecting owls as well! 🦉✂️📐🔫🎅🤶🎨🌲

Love them! I’m on the hunt now for materials, still searching for beard material! I have a suggestion for ya, if you ever want to do a point top to the hat....fold the top together (in half) towards the back and hot glue it. From the front it’ll just be a tip! I love the variations of your gnomes, so adorable!

Im also hunting for new materials, but I'm sure my craft room, has a bunch of things I could put to good use! Great tutorial, I don't mind if it's a long video, as long as it's educational and creative, which this was! So great job, and... for info on "bugs" in rice or beans, a person can freeze their bag of rice or beans in your freezer for 1 week, and it will kill any eggs, so...I hope that little tidbit helps! I want to make a bunch for my family, and hopefully have a little handmade gnome christmas card with it! Thank you so much for your tutorial, great ways to use yarn! Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas, happy crafting!🎨✂️📐🔫🎅🤶

I found my faux fur at Walmart, but it was on a Halloween mask! It was full head mask of a dog with a moving jaw. Turned out I paid under $4.00!!!! I have so much fur.

Just got all the bits i need here, except the elastic bands, been in lots of shops and no-one seems to have them! Not even hobby craft! I am really looking forward to making them. Couldn’t find any yarn that was suitable so i have bought some little Pom poms . But love what you have done with the ordinary yarn. So off out again now to buy some. Thanks for the tutorial, excellent stuff.

Great minds think alike! Pam from Pam's Life did that last year with the fun fur! I tried it as well and it looks so cute! I also used fake fur that was a leftover from a previous project. It worked very well...oh..and Michaels sells a thick silicone finger that protects from the hot glue! I've used it for years and has saved my finger from burns for years!! Loved the yarn beard idea! I will be using that this year on my Santa Gnome!

@@JennySikma I found mine on Amazon and my Michael's had a Mod Podge section with hot glue supplies. Mod Podge makes hot glue molds to make different embellishments. They sold a special hot glue gun and extra long glue sticks of different colors as well as in glitter and metallic finishes. They were starting to put stuff on clearance, so not sure if they still have those items. The mod podge section was around the artists section and before sewing. Thank you for the cute idea. Got to try this! I used to work at Dollar Tree and inventory relies heavily on location! Foam cones or anything foam sells out quickly. We never had the brown raffia. But you can order online and pick up your order at your store with no shipping cost or for a cost have it delivered to your home. I believe you mentioned you live in Canada, so that will be a lot of the reason why you have very different selections. My store is little but in the next town over in Indiana, I live in Kentucky by the state line, they have four stores and two are huge! Can't wait to shop tonight, but my hubby won't like it! Please make more crafty videos! Thank you
