I found that a dry erase marker works when someone has written on a white board with a sharpie. Write over it with the dry erase marker and it magically comes off. But I have never heard that it works on other surfaces. I just started picking up shoes for resale. So thanks for the experiment!

The absolute best thing I’ve found to remove sharpie is spray-on sunscreen! It needs to be the aerosol spray, not just lotion. Works best on rubber soles 😊

Dry eraser works great on surfaces such as plastics, glazed vases/potteries or glasses.

Yup, the other day at a local thrift store I found a beautiful pair of Allen Edmonds men's leather kiltie loafers. But they had written the price in a black permanent marker on the bottom, just before the heel. I tried using rubbing alcohol, but that didn't do it. Then I searched and found this vid. I will watch it and try. I need to be able to take pics of the bottoms to list and sell them.

And you don't have to use a dryer sheet you can use a rag or paper towel if it's rubber paper towels have a tendency to leave a residue so it's better to use a rag on rubber but if it's a smooth surface like the bottom of the hill in the arch area you can just use paper towel instead of a dryer sheet to remove the dryer race marker with a permanent marker

The dryer race marker you have to really rub over it and let it soak in your literally rubbing the permanent marker off with the dryer race marker and then wiping the residue off

Because the Active Ingredient in Sharpies And Dry Erase are Both... Acetone. Cheapest source for Acetone.... You already got it. Fingernail Polish Remover from Dollar Store. So technically, you bought 3 of the Same Thing to do the Same Job.

Dry Erase ONLY works on Non Ferrous materials. Smooth plasyic, glass and metals. If there are any grooves or cracks, no matter how tony, woll only put More pihment into the crevases.
