It's a nice theme, but it doesn't have quite the same history and "feel" to it. When it comes to music it's hard to argue what's better, since it's all so subjective anyway. But I'd take "atmospheric remake of (one of) the first theme(s) of the series" over "cheerful stage 3 theme".

You know, having listened to the original version of Eternal Shrine Maiden, I managed to recognize its main segment in CtC's final boss theme. Then here I was, listening to this arrange, and I had a holy crap moment. The second part of the intro, where the track picks up tension right before the main segment, that seemed to be an original part... Turns out it's taken from this arrange. Mind = Blown.

I’m kinda disturbed when I read the story behind the album. The story is eerily similar to being trapped in the backrooms, but in this specific case it’s much worse because you know the place and expect it to be like, a peaceful, serene area free from the influence of the modern dystopia, and not “a space that drives people to insanity or suicide with murderous entities” so seeing the dark side of Gensokyo is oddly terrifying.

This is gotta be one of the most beautiful songs ZUN ever made. The piano just make everything more better as well as the flute. It really gives off that majestic and sad nostalgia vibe. But at the same time it gives off this relaxing feeling. Like if you were standing at a rainy day, and you had a very bad day, but you feel that everything is going to be okay in the end. Also i heard this song was in CTC, i can imagine the people playing this having a hardcore mood moment and plenty of tears. I can can see why. I almost wanted to cry with this song as well. Its just very beautiful and majestic. Sometimes i have this thought ZUN will one day become old and tired, and that he’ll one day leave this world behind when i hear this song. It kinda comes in mind sometimes and it kinda scares me. But also we know that he’ll leave a wonderful legacy with us to share. His songs, his games and the wonderful world he has created. Its amazing how imagination can bring people to do wonderful things like Touhou. Thank you ZUN, for creating this wonderful world, for creating this awesome music, and for the great things you’ve done for us the community too! This is why i love Touhou, and the community. I don’t regret coming here. It’s the best community I’ve ever joined.
