I once visited the home where this was made. It is north of Austin. Area of ranch land. Been in the family for over 100 years. It really is a historic home, in that there is real wallpaper, furniture, from the original days. Only the downstairs living and kitchen area has been updated. The rest is a real home. Been in the family for generations. Feels that way too.

Corey, this was actually pretty tame even by 80s standards. Compare to grittier, older Drama or Horror films like Rosemary's Baby, Farenheit 451, or Soylent Green. Even the Rocky Horror Picture Show had already done a lot of the exact same type of thing you see in this film. It was old hat, but still fun.

God, if only Reynolds hadn't been in this and they had the relationship between Mona & the Sheriff as it was in the stage production (unrequited love between the 2). Great book by the author of the show (The Whorehouse Papers) talked about Willie Nelson as the sheriff. Would have been perfect.

I don't make sence now! That's what I know! Why make me say what everyone else says or what now? I'm supposed to do what lawyers? Fine take me into the Zars room! What? Well how would I know what her and mom talk about? Because she's my mom and she my wife, why do I have to be a tape recorder my whole life? I don't know what you ask mee this stuff or make me say what they hypnotized me to say or what ever but none of you lunatics have ever been here before so if you are... I'm supposed to be swapped out every three years designed right, that's what Denvers are built for in real life btw lawyers!
