Phil McCrevice and to your second point, that’s why cheetahs just walk up and greet us every time we get around them, right? Because they know they could kill us? If you haven’t noticed, most animals are naturally “afraid” of humans and if any idea even remotely similar to what you’re suggesting crossed it’s mind, it would be attacking him because it would feel threatened due to natural instinct, not thinking “yeah I dare him to fuck with me”....that’s ridiculous. Maybe their companionship has something having to do with him being his source of food and shelter. Or that studies have shown that animals release oxytocin in response to their owners. Truth is, we don’t know 100% why this animal cuddled up with him, so I don’t think it’s your right to comment on my opinion, and I don’t see anything wrong with leaving an unknown factor up to imagination. Sorry for the rant, but your misogynistic and vacuous comment really caught my attention. It’s exciting though! I don’t normally have drama of any kind, so I thank you for the entertainment. Even dogs are not always predictable and trustworthy and they were actually "designed" (bred) to be compatible with us, plus nearly all canines are team players by nature.

Nerys Ghemor You have some idea how much It hurts from a Cheetah groom. Granted each has a different scale of pain to it, the males are much worse. Their tongue spines cut into you the first lick and they love pushing hard down on it to feel and taste your hair. It's torture. I bled from Eden's grooming sometimes. But I let her do it to a point because they love it so much. Helps bond with them if you let them groom you.

@@malccy72 You know what my secret is? It's listening and learning. It's not about radiant energy coming from all of us that Cesar Millan harps about every episode. Yes, there is actual electrical energy emanating from us from our biological neurons firing off from muscle movement and so on. Sharks can sense this and one way they hunt prey. We see it in brain scans, but listening to an animal is the best way to reach its mind. Watch and learn. I discover what makes and animal tick and focus on that; their loves, likes and dislikes. Everything is an individual and so that changes per individual, but species all do a certain thing, but all differently. Cats all have their instincts and common behaviors and I discover what they like and dislike and use that to connect with them. I become one of them by emulating them as much as possible and allowing them themselves and do the things they like, share in it and avoid the things they don't, but have to learn what that is too. I've connected strongly with so many animals this way. I'll walk around hunting moles with my landlord's dog that loves hunting, bark at someone walking by (so they don't hear me of course) :) run through the house when my St. Bernard sees something to bark at in the window, I'll run with a cheetah that likes running, drag a toy on a rope along the ground, allow cheetahs to groom me until it bleeds because they love grooming me, I'll allow them to nibble, grab, play fight, suckle, lay on me, rub their cheeks on my cheek, lay down on my back to lower my defenses for them and they lay down on me, hand feed, let them pounce,.. and so on. There are so many things you can do to connect with these animals and win them over.

I can't think of anything that would be considered "bonding" with a wild animal, like this clip shows....It takes complete trust, and complete vulnerability, for an animal such as this Cheetah to be able to allow any person to be this close and comfortable to it. @Tyler Fox I've been bloodied before by interacting with cheetahs, sometimes they slap me, or pinched my thumb too hard but mostly from their grooming which cuts my skin and they don't do anything differently, same friendly cheetah. I did a video about it and Gabriel laps up the blood, keeps purring and grooms me still. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJ2oaZ17eZKrac0 It is because cheetahs don't see people or their friends and family as prey. When they see you as family, they will protect you not kill and eat you. Besides, cheetahs that eat together will groom the blood and guts from each others face and body after a kill and meal. They know what is prey and not. No predator is at mindless killer.

I've been around lots of domestic cats of all ages and this is what I can say: If the kitty is nice and well adjusted, when they start to get too rough, if you let out a squeal (like her litter mates would when she played too rough with them) then she'll let go and generally learn not to be so rough (but it may take a few times cuz she might still get carried away for a while). If she's not well adjusted, when she gets too rough and you squeal she'll get rougher! I can imagine with a big cat, if she's not well adjusted, you do NOT want to be around her (cuz it's very hard to train their fundamental worldview out of them)

I volunteer at my local zoo. It's great and some of the animals are very tame and you can give them pats, but the reason why you need to remember they're wild animals is because they would still make pretty terrible pets. They're great in their outdoor enclosures that mimic their natural habitat, and when you go in with them, both you and them can really enjoy the interaction, but if you put them inside your house they're likely to scent mark everywhere, bite, scratch or destroy things etc... This is why I love volunteering at the zoo - you get to interact with animals that you'd normally not get anywhere near.

I've heard that of all the big cats, cheetahs are the closest to housecats in temperament.

Puglous They are apparently you have never owned a cat (as my cat is laying on my chest purring and cuddling while I type this)

fubukifangirl ive also heard they are the biggest cats that can actually purr. lions for example cant cuz it requires purring while breathing out or something like that which they cant do, they can only kinda roar lol
