Dolphin s300i pool cleaner Not Working And A Skipping Track

Fixing a pool cleaning bot. Customer complaint was that it would turn on for a second then immediately stop. Internal parts are not available separately and the company wants you to buy a $450 assembly...

I did the same thing he did, well sort of, I unscrewed the smaller wheels then hit them both in . I did that a couple times . then screwed them tightly , just enough to not over tighten since this is plastic

Mine is misbehaving too. When you disassembled, did you notice any heavy metal slugs inside the wheels? There is only ONE on my unit. I would think there would be two. Maybe they put in only one to cause the unit to automatically always turn in a given direction when it wants to do a reversal? Seems weird. Thanks.

So did you replace the electric motor or just replace the 626-2rs bearings?

Customer declined the motor, replaced bearings only. Customer says it works flawlessly.

I have the same model and mine is not turning left or right. Any idea what could be the problem?

Not of the top of my head but if I remember correctly they have tracks so check the belt, the cog and check to be sue the cog is right to it's mounting. Sorry I can't be more helpful

If bearings turn could they still be the problem? I have same issue but my bearings turn so I was thinking they were fine. Is it worth it to replace them anyway?

If they are turning freely it's likely a different problem however the bearings are super cheap and easy to replace so it's worth a shot. I also cleaned the commutators and brushes as well as making sure the track system was no longer skipping. The whole unit is available...at the time of this video I think it was just under 400 for the unit, that's something only you'd be able to decide if that cost is worth it versus replacing the whole cleaner.
