I cried when Dom died; legitimately I sat down and couldn't keep playing the game. I loved Dom from the games and this hurt. I read about him in the books and the first and second games; I felt for him when his wife died, my mom even watched his wife's death in shock. Dom sacrificing himself was heart breaking... So to see Marcus use Dom's knife to finish the queen off; was the most satisfying and brutal way to kill a villain. The Locust Queen deserved every inch of what Marcus did to her. I know her story was tragic; I know she was stripped of her humanity by the CoG science projects... But the Queen lost my respect after Dom and Tai died.

But nonetheless, I loved that they added the small detail of Marcus using Doms" trusty commando knife almost like a symbol of revenge beyond death. And Marcus sorta giving Dom something back like a thank you for being my brother, and we finished this together.

Me and my best friend would play Gears of War games together. We had an outing and we stopped talking for a couple years. I must have been 22 or 23 when Gears 3 came out and I played it on my own. When Dom’s death happened, it hurt so bad I cried. I couldn’t stop thinking about how Marcus lost his best friend. Hell, his brother. And all I could do was reflect on myself and my own best friend. I’m happy to say, we hung out again years later and got past the drama and I’m still great friends with him again to this day. We actually just started Gears 5 recently. But I can’t WAIT for the newly announced Gears E-Day. Playing Marcus and Dom again just like the good old days.

Gears of War is one of the few games where I generally shouted "YES! FUCKING FINALLY! HELL YEAH!" After I saw a villain get killed. It is just so satisfying to see these villains, who really sold off and hit the nail at making you hate them finally bite the dust that makes it all the more enjoyable to watch as they die
