My gal and I got in to a verbal argument....she had pushed me and I pushed back.. She hid my phone and I asked her to call the police cause she was not letting me out of the room. They showed up, neither party wrote a statement, nor did either go to jail. Can I still be charged somehow? Or is their a time limit of some sorts?

In SC there is no time limit on domestic violence charges but given that the police responded and left without making an arrest I'm not sure anything else will occur unless someone contacts the police with additional information.

@@DaleSavageAttorneyatLaw if the victim doesn't show up to the court date will the case be dismissed??
@DaleSavageLaw4 жыл бұрын
Tanesha Reid it depends on whether someone makes a motion to dismiss, whether the victim was properly notified, and if the judge will do it.

@@DaleSavageLaw how can that person go about that? By showing up(victim)
@DaleSavageLaw4 жыл бұрын
@@taneshareid8713 Victims of crime in SC have a right to know about court hearings, it's called the victims bill of tights, so they are supposed to be notified by the prosecutors office about those hearings and the date and location of them.
