my ex husband was an absolute Demon... Thank God I have been free for going on 21 years. the nightmares are now very in frequent. That man abused me in every possible way. I now relish and celebrate every single year that I have been apart from that man. But the nightmares still creep in

Typical abusive behaviour, these men need a man to get hold of them, they'd be a quivering wreck, because underneath it all they are just pathetic snivelling cowards.

It is shocking. Disgusting. These abusers destroy people, and many times get away with it. I'm a survivor of domestic abuse, all these things spoken about on the video. Its be great to see the news media report as non-gender specific, highlighting it.

I blame the judicial system. The Same courts that congratulate and encourage women to leave an abusive relationship are the very same courts that punish her for not wanting anything to do with their abuser. Then to add insult to injury make the victim hand over the children to the abuser just so the abuse continues and ironically only gives the abuser more power and control over the victim.

This is my story. He got released on licence, reoffended shortly after but just got a slap on wrist, reoffended again at the end of last year so has now been recalled to prison to serve the rest of his sentence but he will still be out next year I think. No doubt to reoffend yet again

Ah ah, here we go with the "free" market agenda. We can't have help for victims of relationship violence (of any gender) if there are no refuges and legal advice to hand, well-funded police forces, affordable housing and medical care, the list goes on. Sorry but the idea that some rich philanthropist will fly in to the rescue if your girlfriend (or boyfriend) is putting your health, sanity and life in danger is a bit of a silly one. Either you believe in living in a civilised society or you don't. There's not much "anti-narc" about the law of the jungle.

@@jackgoodings True enough, and no one should be tolerating an abusive partner. Two caveats: A stronger person can do a lot more damage, and that stronger person in an adult relationship is usually (but not always) a man. There is also the issue that hundreds of years of tradition and religion "gave" men the right to be physically abusive. All in all however I would say that emotional abuse is more common than the physical kind, and that here the 21st century, of course, we should have a zero tolerance policy across the board, and assistance for anyone, woman or man, straight or gay, who is struggling to escape an abusive partner.
