It is somewhat of a double edge sword, but completely agree with this. I'm the embodiment of that. I have a shorter fuse these days (over a decade of dealing with depression and anxiety does that to you), but when I snap, people tend to fall in line pretty quickly, because the otherwise calm and peaceful person I normally am turns into a wild beast whose look means business, and who will relentlessly berate you into submission in a very direct manner, in a tone of voice just a few decibels higher than normal, to get the point across. While smiling with a smirk that would make anyone uncomfortable, and reminding you of everything you've done wrong since I've kept track (a.k.a., the first time you did something bad to me or someone/something I care about). Colleagues, the odd teacher (because the colleagues were being loud and obnoxious and preventing anyone from learning anything, the teacher was not doing anything to control them), my old boss (who had a... let's say random way of doing performance reviews, and consistently say something we did was wrong, after having approved literally hundreds of identical things), and one or two random people being utter duchecanoes for no reason. The number of times I've been royally pissed have been limited (about 10, or so, in just over 35 years), but sometimes it's the most effective tool at your disposal. Provided, of course, and as Domics and yourself point out, you're not constantly "crying wolf" and abusing the anger card. Besides, the scenic route is a much more rewarding experience. I've torn people's minds into mush in an instant by just being patient, and playing my cards right.

I've experienced the same, I had quite some anger issues as a kid and people really didn't bat an eye at that. I had therapy though... Since then, I rarely ever get angry (much less than most others around me). I did get a little angry at a shopkeeper a few years back and yelled at him, my friends were immediately like: "Woah dude..? You okay?"

It’s a psychological thing. You find this to be true is most cases. Another example: you’re more likely to be listened to and respected in a lecture when you voice your thoughts if you’re normally silent and always listening. That one rare occurrence that you voice your thought on the matter, everyone will listen as you’re not always actively talking. This concept works well in business as well.

Supressing your anger is the one thats harmful. You supress your anger when you tell yourself that you're not getting mad/ you're not feeling anger. Instead of doing this, you should accept that you're feeling anger but still not act on it. Just like what you said, you can also express it in a healthy and not harmful manner. You can also use reason to deal with anger just like what Dom does. However, that doesn't mean you wont feel any anger. You will still feel angry. Reason just limits the anger. Just like in the video, Dom didn't yell or hurt Ellen. He controlled his anger to an extent. Btw, sorry if my English is bad. English isnt my 1st language.

Now, would I not let go of the leash while feeling harsh pain while holding the leash like my brother said angrily to me? Of course I would let go. But would I try to chase our dog and try to grab him with my bare hands while being afraid of his dull but violent teeth? Yes. Of course. So that is what exactly I did, which failed. Now would my brother not get angry at me and understand the pain I felt though my finger? No, he wasn't that kind of person at that time, but I'm sure he will be. He was always caring for me sometimes. But would my brother reasonably but uselessly get angry at my for letting go of the leash just for feeling pain? Yes. So when he started to break me down, I went inside the house, hoping to get away from it. But of course it didn't. He further humiliated me inside and completely broke me. I almost lost my patience and sanity through intense sadness and anger. I hope this helps you learn that it is useless to be angry at useless facts that has a reason to happen, and that you have to do everything you can do to go the right path to stop the useless anger before it even happened.
