@Ruby Rose Heheh... **sighs** I always wondered why my peers don't have pimples. They're all like "Use this!", " Use that!" It annoys the hell out of me, since I always thought they looked kinda good on me. Until.... my junior( who I was friends with) said they looked good on me too! So yes, whenever people annoy me now, I just give them my "I don't give a f*** look" to them. Lol.

I had the same problem, I also thought too much about my jokes and if people find it funny or not. But now I say fuck it, I say what I find funny. I had an incredibly similar experience. I was mostly bullied for the hair on my upper lip. But people would also make comments about the hair on my chin, and the hair that would grow on my mole(thats on the right side of my chin. Now, I use facial razors constantly to make sure you can't see a single bit of peach fuzz above my lip, on my chin, or on my mole. Also, because of my mole, long and thin hair, olive skin, and face shape, people started saying I looked like a witch.

I remember going into my 2nd grade year at elementary school with zero to no insecurities as I wasn't looking at myself or going onto beauty parts of social media. I was in music class and we were going over notes and whatnot when a boy named Ryker said "your neck and arms are hairy! You're like a gorilla!" That's when I started shaving my legs, arms and hands (i had knuckle hair too which was uncommon for a girl in my school) and wearing hoodies to school. So Ryker, if you're reading this, respectful rot in hell

@@oishibaking I'm 20 now at 169cm (didnt grow since I was 15) and went to an all boys high school in South Africa, I had a small group of really great friends but they were all over 185cm. It really hurt my self esteem and I hated my height when I was 14, now that I'm comfortable with myself, I don't give a doodoo about my height or what other people think about it. It's not something you can change and as you grow older you understand and accept that fact. I found that for me, developing other aspects of yourself that you can change will make you more comfortable with yourself. For me it was hitting the gym, getting a few muscles did wonders for my height insecurities. You're still young and will probably grow way taller during puberty so don't stress over height too much ^^. Wish you the best mate!

I hate how the word insecure is used as an insult so often. Insecurity doesn't mean the person can't have basic human decency. Insecurity usually comes from the group and can stick for a long time. Humans are group animals and caring about other peoples opinions is a part of us. Don't give me the "don't care" -argument either. If I didn't care I wouldn't even dress when I go outside. Almost everyone cares what others think of them. At one point I realized some people are assholes who will find ANYTHING about anyone to nag about. Be it big nose, shortness, baldness etc. After that it has been easier. I am tall, which probably helps to fit in or stand out in a positive way. Not that I am shaming short people. I couldn't care less what height people are, but some people do. They call shorter men "manlets" It is cruel and feeds insecurity in many people. I don't even know what I'm insecure nowadays. When I was younger it was because I was chubby. Nowadays I am slim, tall, not balding and quite capable in many ways. I still fear meeting new people as if they will start to tear me apart the moment they see me. Even though I have words to fight back. I hope to get over it some day :)

Once I worked at a primary school for a week and those kids are really brutal when it comes to pointing out all my insecurities... I had a conversation like that: "what are those red dots in your face?" "well, pimples, you've never seen those?" "oh that's really ugly" "look in a few years you might also look like that.." It kinda hurt me that this sentence scared the shlt out of him xD

Maybe this is something to make short people feel better: being tall can also be an insecurity. You always stand out, which is uncomfortable as an introvert. You look awkward in group photos. Your back always hurts because you have to bend down all the time. Finding clothes is difficult. Your legs quickly look unproportionally long. And you look like slenderman if you aren't buff. As with any insecurity, this is ofcourse a negative view on the matter. There's also advantages, ofcourse. But I thought it might be nice to hear for those who think they're too short. Also, the average height differs greatly by country. In some asian or south american places, people are just shorter in general. So maybe the people around you are just a taller average and the difference wouldn't be so noticeable elsewhere.
@KnowHowTV
@KnowHowTV 4 жыл бұрын
But you can just improve your social skills ....go to the gym and eat healthy ...when you become buffed you will look nice and your back problem may also be fixed ......your insecurities can be gone if you work on them ....but what about the short people ....they certainly can not grow taller no matter what they do

@@KnowHowTV As you said, your insecurities can gow away in time if you work on them. It is, in the end, psychology. You can see the bright side of being tall or the negatives. It is the same with being short. It is true that society is kinder toward being tall than being short. But the way you as an individual feel about is is all that matters. I'm not saying that it is going to be easy, but any insecurity is a negatively warped view of some trait that deviates from some average.

I'm glad someone said it. I have a few tall friends who get made fun of for being tall. People think it's not gonna hurt because being tall is seen as only a good thing. You'll feel a lot better if you at least attempt to tackle your weight issues. If you improve your health and physique, it actually does significant wonders for your psyche. Self improvement is wildly therapeutic, especially when the improvement is taken into your own hands and you realize how powerful you are with an aspect of your life in your reigns. Don't let the overwhelming expectation of society let you become a defeatist.

@@coughpillbox748 becoming healthy as far as diet and exercise will always be beneficial, but weught loss should always be the effect rather than the goal (unless you have a medical issue requiring weight loss). Obsessing over weight can make you feel discouraged if you dont meet your goal when you want to. If you get the proper exercise and diet, youll naturally lose excess weight or fat which is a nice feeling. I remember once in gym class the teacher said that taller people were the fastest runners, and she had half the class guess who would be running the fastest during an exercise. I've usually been the tallest girl in my class, so I got singled out immediately, and I felt really embarrassed that I was one of the worst runners. Ever since that day, I've been really self-conscious of my lack of athletic abilities versus people's expectations.

It absolutely sucks that we are pushed to feel ways like this. I am so sorry that you have found yourself in that kind of position. I’ve been there, and honestly I still am. But trust me; there is beauty to be found in absolutely everyone, because we all have our own complexity, inside and out. We get to decide what we mean. And a lot of the time, society tries to tell us what we mean, or what we SHOULD mean, without even giving us the tiniest glance. Society doesn’t really see us, and it doesn’t truly give a damn about us, either. That’s why it’s so powerful to see someone give a damn about themselves, to claim their confidence and individuality back. And I know how hard that is. It doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a long, sometimes terrifying process, but the reward is extraordinary. I myself have a really bloated, sometimes slightly pregnant looking stomach. That’s how weight distributes on my dad’s side of the family. It all forms on the inside of the stomach, not the outside, which pushes it outwards, like bloating, as I said. I have a very hard time finding pants that fit my legs right without them constricting the shit out of my waist. On top of that I have small boobs, so my proportions are a bit odd. It’s difficult to love that. I have a long way to go. But I think that I’ll get there eventually, and I am 100% rooting for you, and I believe you can get there too💕

Well, I'm pretty sure God *didn't* say, "Oops, My bad!" when planning what genotype you were to be born with. Yes, it's important that you take care of your body in general. But apropos the things we humans can't so far change like your hips or my nose (I'm Afro-Caribbean and have the stereotypical 'black nose') are the things that we're just gonna have to learn to accept, just like Jesus obviously accepts them. I'm sure you seem very attractive in the eyes of certain others, and if He can easily see the beauty and uniqueness (and the beauty in the uniqueness) that He gave you, I don't see why I or others shouldn't either🤷🏽‍♂️😊. Hope these words help, as that is their intention, and God bless you!

I know the struggle of not fitting within the average measurements for clothes: I'm 6 feet tall (183cm) but VERY skinny, so pants often match the length but not the waist, or vice-versa. Same goes for shirts: the sleeves are fine, but too baggy, so finding the right one is often a chore. The upshot of all this is that I sometimes score really good deals on clothes because unusual sizes (very large/small sizes) are the last ones left because few people fit them and they often go on sales/clearances.
