I hate how the word insecure is used as an insult so often. Insecurity doesn't mean the person can't have basic human decency. Insecurity usually comes from the group and can stick for a long time. Humans are group animals and caring about other peoples opinions is a part of us. Don't give me the "don't care" -argument either. If I didn't care I wouldn't even dress when I go outside. Almost everyone cares what others think of them. At one point I realized some people are assholes who will find ANYTHING about anyone to nag about. Be it big nose, shortness, baldness etc. After that it has been easier. I am tall, which probably helps to fit in or stand out in a positive way. Not that I am shaming short people. I couldn't care less what height people are, but some people do. They call shorter men "manlets" It is cruel and feeds insecurity in many people. I don't even know what I'm insecure nowadays. When I was younger it was because I was chubby. Nowadays I am slim, tall, not balding and quite capable in many ways. I still fear meeting new people as if they will start to tear me apart the moment they see me. Even though I have words to fight back. I hope to get over it some day :)

Maybe this is something to make short people feel better: being tall can also be an insecurity. You always stand out, which is uncomfortable as an introvert. You look awkward in group photos. Your back always hurts because you have to bend down all the time. Finding clothes is difficult. Your legs quickly look unproportionally long. And you look like slenderman if you aren't buff. As with any insecurity, this is ofcourse a negative view on the matter. There's also advantages, ofcourse. But I thought it might be nice to hear for those who think they're too short. Also, the average height differs greatly by country. In some asian or south american places, people are just shorter in general. So maybe the people around you are just a taller average and the difference wouldn't be so noticeable elsewhere.
@KnowHowTV4 жыл бұрын
But you can just improve your social skills ....go to the gym and eat healthy ...when you become buffed you will look nice and your back problem may also be fixed ......your insecurities can be gone if you work on them ....but what about the short people ....they certainly can not grow taller no matter what they do

@@KnowHowTV As you said, your insecurities can gow away in time if you work on them. It is, in the end, psychology. You can see the bright side of being tall or the negatives. It is the same with being short. It is true that society is kinder toward being tall than being short. But the way you as an individual feel about is is all that matters. I'm not saying that it is going to be easy, but any insecurity is a negatively warped view of some trait that deviates from some average.
@moviemoment2474 жыл бұрын
I'm glad someone said it. I have a few tall friends who get made fun of for being tall. People think it's not gonna hurt because being tall is seen as only a good thing. But trust me; there is beauty to be found in absolutely everyone, because we all have our own complexity, inside and out. We get to decide what we mean. And a lot of the time, society tries to tell us what we mean, or what we SHOULD mean, without even giving us the tiniest glance. Society doesn’t really see us, and it doesn’t truly give a damn about us, either. That’s why it’s so powerful to see someone give a damn about themselves, to claim their confidence and individuality back. And I know how hard that is. It doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a long, sometimes terrifying process, but the reward is extraordinary. I myself have a really bloated, sometimes slightly pregnant looking stomach. That’s how weight distributes on my dad’s side of the family. It all forms on the inside of the stomach, not the outside, which pushes it outwards, like bloating, as I said. I have a very hard time finding pants that fit my legs right without them constricting the shit out of my waist. On top of that I have small boobs, so my proportions are a bit odd. It’s difficult to love that. I have a long way to go. But I think that I’ll get there eventually, and I am 100% rooting for you, and I believe you can get there too💕

Well, I'm pretty sure God *didn't* say, "Oops, My bad!" when planning what genotype you were to be born with. Yes, it's important that you take care of your body in general. But apropos the things we humans can't so far change like your hips or my nose (I'm Afro-Caribbean and have the stereotypical 'black nose') are the things that we're just gonna have to learn to accept, just like Jesus obviously accepts them. I'm sure you seem very attractive in the eyes of certain others, and if He can easily see the beauty and uniqueness (and the beauty in the uniqueness) that He gave you, I don't see why I or others shouldn't either🤷🏽♂️😊. Hope these words help, as that is their intention, and God bless you!

As a female that has a deep voice, height it 5'2, has eyebags ever since I was 7 years old, has a flat nose, big forehead and a big problem with hair loss, I can relate to this
@Missliatutors2 жыл бұрын
Lol same. Big forehead. Flat nose ang big lips. My height isn’t helping either. I will be turning 14 in just a few weeks but my height is still 4’11. Been called ugly by people. Also been called pretty and cute but that was ages ago. ( I guess they were just trying to make me feel better. ) I have big nostrils. Also been called ugly by a kid. :)

As a mf'ing tall guy, i feel the fact that most clothing is made for "the average". I usually have to size up my stuff for it to fit me without leaving gaps of skin, which ends up getting me lotsa baggy clothing.

im 5"10 and 200 lbs tallish guy and clothes still never fit me right when i go shopping. BUT for some reason every hand me down ive ever received fits perfectly so i have no fashion lol. Seriously though why does it feel like clothes are only designed for like a perfect body build and noone else?

I’m 6”0 and 140 lbs so jeans and pants just don’t work anything that fits in length does not fit in width
@DanielsGameVault3 жыл бұрын
I know the struggle of not fitting within the average measurements for clothes: I'm 6 feet tall (183cm) but VERY skinny, so pants often match the length but not the waist, or vice-versa. Same goes for shirts: the sleeves are fine, but too baggy, so finding the right one is often a chore. The upshot of all this is that I sometimes score really good deals on clothes because unusual sizes (very large/small sizes) are the last ones left because few people fit them and they often go on sales/clearances.
