The problem with bullying is that so many people hear the word and think it's a childhood problem and dismiss it. That's how Rees Mogg gets away with saying "it's all a bit snowflakey." Bullying is abusive and I think that Abuse would be the better term to use to explain to more people just how serious it is.

I worked under a bully a few years ago. I was the manager of a boat hire base and this "superior" visited every Tuesday. I was physically sick every morning I knew he was coming. One of his favourite tricks was to sit at my desk and tell me to pass him the telephone handpiece, 2 ft in front of him, and dial in the number he wanted to call. He began working at the beginning of February, I phoned up the owner and handed in my notice in mid-March, left mid-April, and the "superior" was sacked for incompetence in June. It's not worth your health putting up with bullying in the workplace.

This is an interesting anecdote. The bully was sacked for incompetence. Do we have a clue here to one reason why someone might try bullying their subordinates? After all how competent, how on top of his brief in all his ministerial appointments was Raab himself? "If you fear your own inadequacy may be exposed make sure you have passed on the blame to those beneath you." could that be it? Of course we need to bear in mind that a boss may indeed need to reprimand a subordinate for inadequate work as well. How that reprimand is delivered is crucial. One can be critical without being threatening or bullying if one if confident in one's own position and ability. I suggest Raab may not have been. . Ambitious but over- promoted and unwilling to admit it.
@williamgeorgefraser
@williamgeorgefraser Жыл бұрын
@@kloffus3 The guy had previously worked for a company where base managers had to do as instructed by head office. He joined the company I was working with and was suddenly given carte blanche. Some of the things he told me to do were nonsensical and even impossible to do given the setup. He insisted on imposing his own ideas without knowing anything about local conditions. I got my own back by phoning him up after I handed in my notice and gave him an earful. He replaced me with someone with no experience who turned up 1 hour before I left so I didn't have time to let him know how things worked. The guy lasted 5 weeks before getting sacked, during which time he took 1 week's holiday and went off with the breakdown van without contacting head office. The next base manager had to change 7 starter motors in a week, as he didn't know how to start the engines.

This is who they are as people. Their superiority complexes are why they are where they are...desire for power. They try and get away with anything they CAN get away with. Imagine him behaving in this manner out in public towards any member of society, and someone reacting to it. He'd be picking up his teeth, not just being accused of bullying. They live such privileged little lives without any thought of consequences for their actions. Look at Braverman as another example, just walked in to another governmental position within days.

People don't get promoted to the level of working with Ministers if their work is substandard and a person who will swear at someone in a TV studio just to make a routine request for transport, is clearly a man who thinks he can be obnoxious and intimidating and throw his weight around without any consequences. I read somewhere that another Minister testified to seeing Raab abusing officials.

I really wish journalists were brave enough to ask politicians who are playing stupid word games, as Sunak was, "Do you think I'm stupid, mate?". I really wish, just once, a journalist would call out this weasley wordplay.

Raab's record: As Brexit Secretary - total failure, As Foreign Secretary - paddleboarded as Kabul fell, As Justice Secretary - wants to tear up our human rights. What an odious little man he is.

That interview reminds me of ‘did you threaten to overrule him?’ If memory serves its was Jeremy Paxman interviewing Micheal Howard. Unfortunately I don’t remember who was being overruled.

Hi Owen, brilliant commentary from you, spot on, can you possibly cover the fact that the NHS has already been privatised and it will be no safer in the hands of Labour. Not the Andrew Marr show on KZbin makes this point quite clearly and factually. Thanks for your contribution to truth.

Twenty four people judged it was well beyond setting high standards, something I would guess they are used to. Rees Mogg is part of the group who want to complete their attempt to reduce working people to Dickensian conditions. Not enough food or heat, insecure housing and job contracts and of course , a removal of hard earned workers rights.

There is no such thing as an informal complaint once its mentioned it becomes a formal complaint. Raab obviously questions to answer. It does amaze me that MPs can keep their seat in parliament, when found guilty of what would be a sackable event in any other place of work.

How many times can someone directly dodge answering the question - "were you aware of any informal complaints about Dominic Raab?", five times in a row it turns out! Without a shadow of a doubt Sunak is 100% guilty of knowing about informal complaints about him. The lies and the corruption never ends
