When I was a little kid (over 40 years ago) someone had made me cream of wheat that I still talk about over 40 years later because it was like no other and I could never replicate it. She has since passed away so I could never replicate it😞. but for whatever reason I feel in my heart THIS is how she made it and I CAN’T WAIT to make this!!!! I am so excited….Thank you so much for sharing this…I felt your connection to your gmom and how you said, “you don’t want to mess it up”. I don’t want to mess it up now😂

Mi mama went home with Dios in Dec de 2018 and this video brings me beautiful thoughts and memories of her when I was a child she loved making us farina and we would add a lot of azucar and evaporated milk on top. This video gave me chills at the end. My mother in law has been making this for my daughter since she was a baby (she is 9 now) and she will make ALOT for us to take and I would heat it up for a couple more days as breakfast. I always ask her for the recipe but these Dominican ladies can not explain and I have always been scared to not learn how to make it and if she passes away this is exactly how my daughter and I will react to Farina every time we smell it from a far. This video makes it seem so easy and I can not wait to try it. You have showed me how to cook SO many meals. I've made Farina every morning for the last 18 years! It's the only breakfast food my 19 year old son will eat. I've also made a dessert version, "Sweet Farina" same ingredients, but with a little more butter and condensed milk in place of the white sugar....Delicious!

My family makes something similar like that but it's am I and my uncle mom made it like the same kind of way but the only difference was instead of using just cinnamon and cloves to it I haven't had it in years and then about back in November I want to see my family in Connecticut and my uncle just like pulled it out of the microwave which he made the day before and he gave it to me and it just brought back memories so I know where you going with it. It looks really good and I'm glad you're able to go down memory lane. ♥️🙂

My West Indian family makes farina or sago porridge in water with whole cinnamon, cloves and freshly grated nutmeg and a little bit of brown sugar towards the end. Cornmeal porridge gets the same treatment but a little coconut milk. We add Demerara sugar and different milk to our own bowls.
