If you dedicate your entire being to any sport, I mean live for it; multiple trips to the ER on a stretcher in an ambulance, multiple surgeries, pain, living with pain and understanding you are shortening your life and later life will likely be spent in a wheelchair with CTE but still throwing your whole being into it, not if but when it gets stripped away you are lost. Utterly lost.

Dom gifting the poster to Faber was all class. Dom could come across as insulting and arrogant, but also very calculated and cerebral. The story of his rise and fall(s) is both tragic and inspirational. I love long form documentaries and this is one of the best I’ve seen.

💯 I become a big MMA fan not only because of Fedor, but especially because of the WEC. I was a huge Faber fan and disliked Cruz. But I watched Cruz evolve into a unique fighter who blended great takedowns with high movement and fluid striking. He had a long title reign and then came back to reclaim the belt, beating Dillashaw in an epic 5 rounder. I grew to respect and appreciate Cruz. He was a bit of a punk when he was younger, but he's also so honest and real. A champ inside and outside the cage.

His episode on Joe Rogan saved my life. I've listened to it about a dozen times. I was battling from chronic back pain for nearly 5 years and like him my recovery was full of ups and downs. I wasn't able to box competitively for years. But since 1st Jan of 2022, I took up the sport again. I'm stronger and better than ever. He's right about all of our demons surfacing when we have no outlet like martial arts. It was so painful to deal with them head on and there was nothing I could do but face them. I'm better now for it. It's as if life needed me to take a break to adress a lot of my emotional baggage. Anyways, thanks for this beautiful documentary.

Another amazing video. Whenever Ariel had Dominick on the phone listening to the absolute heartbreak and sadness in his voice had me tearing up. It's extremely inspiring listening to Dom on Joe Rogans podcast all those horrible injuries over and over again. Dom obviously his employment is a UFC professional fighter and that's how he make money so it severally messed with him. Then him not knowing who he truly was without fighting suffering from depression and seeking therapy to help him with it. We all know for a fact some people that suffer from depression end up unfortunately ending their own life's. Dom coming back after not only healing from several injuries but years being out of the cage to him fighting like he hadn't been through anything nor ring rust. God dammm the writing for this video is GOAT Status. I don't know how you do it, you introspectively put everything into exactly the right perspective using the words of a poet. The ending almost had me in tears. I don't know how you do it. I wouldn't even be able to imagine where to start but somehow you put it in a way that's just spot on perfect. Keep up the legendary work!

This is an awesome video, man. I can see the hard work you put into it and appreciate you creating content. Something great about Dom was that he is such a unique fighter and I still haven't seen anyone fight like him, with that wide, looping-punch stance. I saw a random comment before the Chito fight where they said he was undefeated in non-title bouts, and I think that says a lot to how consistently skillful he was. Again, great video and the editing is done so well! I especially liked those shots where you would obscure the background and slowly zoom into the foreground of the fighters during their fights. Congrats on your consistency with exercise and I hope that goes well for you!

Dom is one of my favorite athletes of all time and one that I have always looked up to and been inspired by. His post-fight press conference after his fight with Cody where he says "Loss is a part of life" and "I was there. That was 100% me." The way he owns his L's and moves on and still maintains his greatness as both a man and a fighter, that "Let's get back to work" mentality will always be something I strive for no matter what I do in life. Thank you Dom for everything you've done and continue to do for the sport and also for the role model that you have been for so many people out there who struggle with their demons, their mental health, their obstacles in life, and I pray that they can all overcome whatever it is they're going through just as you have. "Discipline = Freedom."

I grew up hearing Dominick Cruz name in Professional MMA but didn’t get really into the sport until his latest win vs Munoz. I’ve always liked Cruz and he still looked great in his latest fight with Vera. I wanted to know more about Doms timeline in MMA and found this video today which was mastered by you that not only offers his MMA career but rivalries and triumphs of injuries and life. This was one of the greatest documentaries I’ve enjoyed and look forward to another of Dom Cruz when he finishes his Legacy. Thank you Dominick Cruz and thank you Mixed Martial Academic

You have no idea how happy i am to see this man get a docu style video to show not only the demise of WEC but chronicle Cruz's triumphs, rivalries and setbacks......and the retaking of the throne. Way back when i was an amature MMA fighter, i met Cody Garbrandt when he was maybe 16 or 17, and we joked about driving to Cali to train with Team alpha male because at the time i was more impressed by the WEC and Team Alpha Male's list of fighters... and Cody actually went...and we know how that went. But i then watched Faber vs Cruz 2 and my entire fighting style changed when i got to really watch cruz's footwork...and from then on out i matched my footwork to his despite being a welterweight and it REALLY paid off. I fought 7 years, turning pro and won a handful of belts... it got to the point where I'd have to move to another state to get the level of training partners i needed to match the level of competition i was facing but... MMA ran its course and i was ready to persue training my clients full time... but the TRUE icing on the cake was fighting my VERY last MMA fight ever...JUST minutes after Cruz FINALLY came back and knocked out Mizugaki...and even in my victory speech i asked the crowd if anyone knew who won the Cruz/Mizugaki fight...what a bitter sweet night...i retired the night he FINNALY came back and i spent all those years only watching his highlight and training vids on youtube and past fights in WEC...plus his title defense against Mighty Mouse. MAn i waited a LONGGGGG time to finally see him come back...and he did the same night i ended my career...poetic i suppose. anyways...great work and great video! This Cruz vs team alpha male rivalry was so much inspiration for me years ago during my career.

Of all the mma fighters who deserve a biopic, Cruz ranks up there with GSP, Jones and Silva. What he accomplished despite the crazy hand he was dealt is almost fairy-tale and grossly undeappreciated. The fact he invented his own style that is still effective to this day despite literally selling courses of it online is also ridiculous. I know this sport is unforgiving, but that performance vs Vera gives me hope Cruz is able to end his career in the most historic way possible, by becoming the oldest and only 3x UFC Bantamweight champion.

Great job on this one, I wasn't a big dom fan thought he was a cocky big mouth guy, but I did not know all this behind the scenes tragedy that struck dom's life and I have alot of respect for.that man, alot of weaker ppl would never get back up from one or 2 of his set backs but dom had about 6 times he was dealt tragic news and he kept going and believing in himself what a stud what an ambassador or this sport I have so much more respect for dom and I will always be a fan whether he's fighting or not, damn what a story of resilience and self belief.

Bro, your POV story telling in this genre is 2nd to none. Always lengthy and always worth it! As a UFC supporter since 93, I’ve seen a vast amount of content…truly 2nd to none. 👏👏👏👏. And the only aspect I see differently, albeit slightly, is I believe Cody’s performance v Dom is the greatest performance in the history of any MMA Championship. Performance is the key word ;-). I’m positive he still dreams of the greatness and confidence he had that night and could be part of his downfall. Hard to hit such an out of body level as he did against Dom. The Dominator brings out the best

Kickass doco. I never knew Cruz’s full story as I only recently became a bigger fan of UFC. It’s inspiring as hell that through so many setbacks he still kept coming back over and over getting better every time. Side note, do you have a tracklist? Preferably with timestamps. There were one or two by the halfway point and one around 49:00 that really built up the climaxes well but I couldn’t get Shazam to find em.
