What I did to help me with some of my classes (especially for my pre-req Anatomy class) is I used Kahoot and made them so I could practice. I used questions from the book, power points, and made my own. It was great as I’m a visual person and I could add in pictures. It made me go from getting a 36 on my first Anatomy exam to a 96. I like repetition, so it helped drill it in for me in a fun manner. Plus it was a big hit as study groups.

@@paigemya When I made this comment, I just completed my first semester. Now I'm in my 4th and final semester. My advice to you is once you study and read material put it into practice by doing practice questions. Once you have done the "input" process you need to do an "output" to retain and learn the information. Also, when you are studying make sure you go over the things that you don't know too well. We tend to gravitate towards the things that we feel comfortable with. :) I hope this helps!!!

I find that I have little time to even set aside to put together my study material. I'll put in my agenda from the time i know we have an exam to do my flashcards but aren't able to complete them until 3-4 days before the exam. What I'm going to try doing is write out at least 5 flashcards a day for each exam then study them as time goes on so I don't feel overwhelmed to do 30+ flashcards for a single exam.

That’s actually really smart! Doing a few flash cards a day! What I usually do is just do them all as I’m going through the chapter! I’m going to try this! 💕 have a goal for each day! But nursing school is definitely time management and learning how to get at least some of everything done a day!

What do you mean read the textbook?? I’ve struggled with that, The chapters are long. How do you pick out what’s important out of the textbook ?
@microbiologyit3 жыл бұрын
“What’s important out of the textbook?”- Write down the main topics your instructor covers in class and additional topics and terms that may be on the PowerPoint slides. Find those same topics and terms in your textbook and read and study about them. “The chapters are long”- Divide the chapter into sections. For example, a chapter may have 16 pages and you want to complete the chapter in 4 days. Then you’ll have 4 pages to read and study each of the 4 days. This takes away from the stress and being overwhelmed.

I just started nursing school and I’m trying to figure ways to study effectively. I got a 74% on my first exam and I’m trying to do better because I was aiming for at least a 80%. I’m just going to have to study harder
