Hey guys! todays video is all about why I quit being a distributor for a mlm company called it works after almost 2 years! I have been watching #antimlm videos for a while and in my recent GRWM video where I shouted out a few of my favorite antimlm KZbin channels I kept it classy and said I have nothing negative to say. well people wanted me to share my story of being in an mlm and why I left my mlm so today I bring you the facts about joining an mlm. I talk about how you REALLY make money in a mlm, I talk about mlm team trainings, I have the receipts and show you things that the distributors don't want you to know until you pay to join their " pyramid scheme" I mean mlm. I was in it for a year and a half I reached Diamond rank exactly at the one year mark. I was so mentally drained at the end of each day I had to stop, I hated reaching out to strangers 😭. I used to enjoy social media because of memes or funny videos but I couldn’t post any of that because my profile was for “promotion purposes” only, I wasn’t having fun . So I just quit and I felt bad it’s been 7 months but after watching this I feel so much better 😭

There is nothing wrong with a 9-5 you have a set space to work, set hours, set income, you have benefits, health insure, and so much more!! Now I do not think a 9-5 is for everyone however I hate how they try to crap on anyone who works a 9-5

Look at any top income earner in any company, they have thousands or even hundreds of thousands on their team. No top earner only sells product and lives on those commissions

I recently just started about a week ago and it’s already red flags left and right. For one she said I was only spending $149 for the starter kit when I actually spent $162 due to the shipping and more plus the $20 website fee. Then she proceeded to tell me i will earn while I learn in the training videos when I didn’t earn nothing and its so funny how she got me to message strangers who didn’t understand about the product to persuade them to buy it. Im so glad I found you but I wish I did before I thought about spending the money for it because I had a feeling even from before that it was not for me

When your focus goes to helping others instead of just getting the benefit yourself, that’s when you get rewarded. It’s not just about you. I have learned that the hard way.

when you focus on FACTS like the income disclosure statements that the MLM's themselves put out sharing how much the distributors REALLY make and stop focusing on the OPINION of what your upline says to keep you in, since you are their paycheck. You will see that no matter your mindset the STRUCTURE is set up so that only the top 1% make a livable wage. The income disclose statements do not put into count how much a distributor spends monthly ie with it works the $20 website fee, and the minimum 80BV auto shipment which is at minimum about $100 Plus taxes ... you can say the 80BV isnt mandatory however it is pushed to be the product of the product.. the average RUBY makes $349 ( got this number from the 2019 it works income disclosure statement) and since this is the average this means some DO NOT make this amount and make less and some make a little more. lets say taxes are 22% $349 - 22% is $272.22 now after taxes have been subtracted because you have to pay uncle sam.. now we need to pay the auto shipment and website fee $272.22 - $100 - $20 = $152.22... it takes the average distributor 4 months to hit ruby (again stated in the 2019 it works income disclosure statement) and if you are ruby making about $152.22 every month you have 3 people under you making less. .... $152.22 a month. you may have an hour zoom call one a week they encourage you to do power hours every day where you follow, message, post, and build a "relationships" with people to grow your potentials list. and if you don't " you're not trying" so lets just say thats all you did... worked maybe 8 hours a week on your business which is 32 hours a month.... girl that is $4.76 an hour... please tell me how that is better then getting a "normal" job... which also means the people under the RUBY are making less.. so how is that "helping others" you are "sold" a lifestyle that was probably bought on a credit card... or the girl's husband has a decent job and can pay for it. i hope this brought clarity to you.

Hope you get to see this, have you ever thought about going back to school, a community college? Go talk to a financial advisor at a community college about the fasfa. It pays for your school and you pocket the rest for books and living expsense, your aid package should also include goverment loan for lving expense as well, use that to love go get your dream job and then have secure finacial ability from a DEPENDABLE job to pay off your debt. That is a proud moment too. but not everyone needs to use that loan part even. which is even better. but either way is good!! hope this finds you well, message me with questions! also no this is not a scam, its a real thing. a lot of people dont know about it, hate filling it out or dont think they can do school. but there are so many options with college you never know till ya try it

It’s harder for you to deny making a purchase because once they make the personal connection with you, you might feel more pressure to support them versus being able to quickly Google ItWorks and finding out it’s not a good company.

Another thing about MLMs is your upline and other leaders will push you to come to company events which you have to pay like hundreds of dollars plus you have to pay for the flight and miss work to attend the event. They're going to say you're going to be a better person after attending the event, and that you should lead by example by attending this event to expect your team to also attend the event.

I worked for them for about a month and my upline just “gave me two loyal customers”..... in reality, she just got a bonus because I was a distributor and as long as she put two customers under me, she got $100. Wow, shady of her not to even tell me that.

I am so sorry you had this experience. I hope you will not continue to think that all of these companies are the same. Some of these companies have been around for decades and are really a good deal. It is illegal for a company to require a minimum purchase every month. I don't know how your company got away with that. I've heard of companies finding loopholes in the law. Also that yucky fake feeling should never be a thing with a good company. The way you described the upline pressure and these training meetings made my jaw drop. Any kind of marketing should be done in a very organic natural upfront transparent kind of way. No network marketer should make fun of another one. If you're ever open to looking at another company make sure you find one with a business plan that doesn't have you making money off of your friends. It should be above and beyond what your downline is doing. Also your downline should be able to surpass you in earnings if their effort is more than yours. Good luck in the future! This confirms what I was thinking. I was curious about this company. My husband and I used to do a few MLMs. YEARS ago. Yes, it's basically fake nice people just getting what they want to make profit...pretending to be your riends. Then we decided TY just ask the couple how long it took them TY get to that point. Unfortunately it is... you can try and call customer service and see if they will refund you, saying you didn’t know exactly what you were getting yourself into but I’m not sure if they will refund the $49

It’s hard. When you’re in an MLM you believe instantly that it’s the best thing ever and everyone else who doesn’t join you is just a “hater” which is so far from the truth. It starts with corporate. They sell you the dream and tell you all the time no just means not right now and you just start to believe it.. it’s a very predatory environment. I’m sorry for your mom and sister

PLexus is the big MLM amongst my social media friends. It has quieted down a lot in the last couple years, so I don't know if some of them have quit or just still use the products. The most vocal person is also an attorney (doesn't practice, but does teach some classes). She claims they ( I don't know if she means the company or her team) have admittedly done things wrong in the past and are trying to run their business with integrity. I understand if the companies actually set things up properly, network marketing could be done with integrity. I just see no sign that corporate cares to as they don't control how the "huns" grow their businesses. I have to keep reminding myself, no matter what this person claims, she is still supporting a manipulative business model. Her family has not shown the most discernment in business dealings as her father partnered with/ collaborated with a local businessman who ended up going to prison for business fraud.....

Chris it’s up to you if you want to join. You shouldn’t feel as you said “pressured” to do anything. And honestly if you have second thoughts about joining I wouldn’t do it. How are you going to talk about and sell products you’ve never used? So yes you will need to buy product to be able to be a product of the product... unless you just want to lie about using them.. I do not agree with the MLM business model and toxic culture so I would never tell someone to join a MLM.

I currently have a 'hun' messaging me back and forth trying to get me to purchase her product. She's apparently 'due for her big promotion." I know exactly what she is doing and which company she works for. I tell her I want more information and to read reviews so she copies and posts photos that are probably the same ones they use for everyone they try to recruit. I tell her I want to read Google or KZbin reviews so she copies text conversations. See what she is trying to do? She doesn't want me to find all the negative reasons for not signing up. *SIGH* not to worry, not signing up. Gotta see how long i can keep this going for 🤣

I did not talk about the products because the products do not matter. Regardless if the products work or not my reason for not liking MLMs has to do with the business model and the toxic culture that i not only witness but so many people i know who can also testify too. they have also changed or reformulated a lot of the products since i got out so i can not testify to the products.

Hey! So I joined about a month ago and only 2 customers and 1 was my dad. I joined because I wanted to make some money and maybe supoort myself and my family. On top of that Im not able to work anywhere with me going through some unbalanced issues in my life so I cant currently hold down a job. 1. Why don’t distributors post their website links on their social feeds? If the products are good, people should be able to buy without getting sucked into a pyramid scheme. 2. Why don’t distributors post lots of their own before & after pics, if the products work? Why don’t any of their customers post before & after pics? I signed up with a jewelry mlm and left when I read they didn't want me on a marketplace. They didn't require a monthly order to remain active.I started my own jewelry line and sell on Etsy and my own site. People really need to be smarter.

Hmmm, I’ve been in this business for almost 10 months and most of what you said, was not my experience. Itworks especially has changed my life personally. When, you go into this JUST for the money, you lose focus. Also, if you don’t have the proper training then again.... you’ll lose focus. MLMs definitely make a lot of money, when you put the work in. I made my biggest check (not including the weekly bonuses) which was over $3,000. If you treat your business like a part time job, then you’ll get paid as one, but if you treat it as a full Time job, you’ll get rewarded as such. It’s definitely not for everyone. But I just don’t like the idea of working my tail off for one hour and making $10.50. I wanted more for my family.

I completely agree this has not been my experience. You do realize you can sell your products as samples that you received and make more of a surplus. Tax free. I honestly agree a lot of it comes down to training and work ethic. You quit after a year and then again after 6 months in. But what were you doing in that time frame. You said the products don’t matter but they completely do. If you are with any company the products if you are selling them should matter first. Leading helping others second. You experience is your experience but that is not everyone experience. Have you ever met Alonda nurse distributor who has made thousands from customers not building a team. She is one of the highest enrolling distributors with customers alone. You can make thousands in just selling samples. Everyone has there story I’ve seen success from the business in the 2 years I was in it. I’ve made well more than what I spent on products. Just from selling samples.

Actually you know what? just when I thought I was free that money stealing company, I wasn't informed about auto shipping, so thinking they had cancelled my account with them, apparently I thought wrong. They charged me close to 200 dollars for something I did not order and when I logged into my account to turn the auto ship thing off, it wouldn't let me, so I called customer service and they said don't worry we can do that for you. Well if that's the case, then why is account still running? this company is run by a bunch of thieves.

Everyone it's experience is different with a mlm. Im in itworks and made money not from recruiting because it doesnt matter if you recruit if no one works. A pyramid scheme is when you just make money off of recruiting and you don't sell products. I cant recruit 50+ people and not make any money, why? Because I didnt teach them how to get customers nor did I get customers myself. Just speaking on the "itworks" mlm definitely not a pyramid scheme or we wouldn't be on the Forbes list as well. MLMs are the #1 network marketing companies that produce millionaires. And there's a 1% in anything in this world because people don't work hard, consistently, to be in the 1%. It's the fact that you make MORE money by recruiting, therefore recruiting is more incentivized. Look at any of the top income earners, how big of a team do they have? Like Cortney and Jade or Joel and Stef, they have THOUSANDS on their team. Not a single top income earner only lives on product commission

We are the fastest growing team in the company because of our trainings and results. You do not make money by just recruiting. Recruiting is as equal as customers. If you recruit and no one brings in customers you absolutely do not make any money. Just wanted to clarify that. Jade also has other top income earners on Ber team as well, you just have to do your research or know them.
