No new wars under President Trump was what we had for four years and now nothing but conflict, billions of our US tax dollars going to a corrupt Ukraine, crime is out of control, our border wide open with criminals, murderers and rapists attacking our people, inflation hurting everyday people, and on and on. Thank you Dominque You are so right regarding journalism these days. It’s not journalism to have a reporter give us their opinion. It’s their responsibility to give just the facts and allow the viewer/listener to make their own opinion/decision. I believe we have become a mean society. At times I’m glad to be older because I don’t know what is going to happen to this country/world. But I must project a positive loving attitude and hopefully my kindness may rub off on someone else to make a change to be a kinder and gentler With the grace of God the world can be more loving.

Hi Dominique, I am really sorry to see your country going through such political polarization - we are also starting to feel it here in Canada. Unfortunately, the owner of your place of work, by showing allegiance to one side, has also put his TV station on that side. For all your ideals and ethical thoughts about journalistic neutrality, now you align and belong in the opinion-based journalistic realm, regardless of your own political views. I appreciate you for who you are and understand that your KZbin platform is about many things other than politics, but I also understand somewhat the criticism you received from subscribers.

I have never seen people so hateful since I came to this country of hope and opportunity. I shared my stories with coworkers who were ignorant (not their fault) and they listened with empathy. I do not recognize this country anymore. As you said, I also told someone very close to go do something about their opinion if they are so passionate about it. However, I do have hope as there is no other country in this world that can rise from the ashes, maybe a strong phrase, so let me say “heal itself”. I’m away from home but since I’ve moved I feel like I can breathe and think. Today I voted early. Oklahoma is not like Houston at all. Here they only have a couple of early polling places. I truly love and feel strong about my beliefs. I stood in line for 4 1/2 hours to vote in the cold. Made friends and we did not talk about politics at all. We laughed in line , shared stories about our kids, and those 4 + hours went so fast. I appreciate you and who you are and your stewardship. I know the Lord led you to where you are for a reason. I read all of the comments on Monday’s post, as of this morning. I did not see one that exhibited harassment or bullying. I did not see anyone ask you to stop what you’re doing. I read comments expressing their grave concern for the horrible hate displayed at last Sunday’s rally. I read outrage about human beings disparaged in vile ways. You can separate your self from it and declare that your views are private. I understand that. However, you are the top news anchor on a multi-national network. The person who owns that network spoke at that rally supporting and endorsing a presidential candidate who runs on divisiveness, name calling, and hateful rhetoric. The things I heard at that rally were so vitriolic and shocking. Phil McGraw defended him and was part of the team. You’re right that to many this is a make or break election. The future of our country is at stake. That brings out the part of people that has to make a decision. What do I stand for? I saw comments from women who decided that they must take a stand. That’s all it was. They made a decision to stand for what they know is right. I only saw ones being matter of fact, straightforward, and some even apologetic when they unsubscribed, even thanking you. As you said, that is their choice. Perhaps you view that comment section as being flooded with opinion, but they are based on facts and those facts were stated clearly. No one is trying to dissuade you from your beliefs, just letting you know that because of theirs they made a decision. It isn’t cancelling. It’s standing up for what you believe and know is right. To condescendingly say that women are ranting and raving over life-affecting issues and maybe they should join the school board is unwarranted. “Decency, respect, kindness, graciousness”…all what we need more of and definitely were not shown at the rally in NYC. While we appreciate your “encouraging” us, it seems that you’re asking these women not speak their truth “at all,” as you put it. Is this only a positive, safe, and encouraging space as long as women don’t state their minds and advocate for those being marginalized? Your podcasts are so well done and provide so much meaningful information. Women, especially midlife women, need platforms like yours. You are kind-hearted and I believe genuine. But, women need you to see them as valid when they express their deep feelings, as they did Monday.

I, too, will be one of those women who have followed and enjoyed listening to Dominique for years but will now take a stand for decency and democracy and no longer support someone who works for and supports a guy who doesn't really believe in whose virtues, even though he purports to. If he did believe in them, he would not be supporting a hateful felon, who belittles and plans to be a dictator on Day 1. It's so interesting that as i read through the comments to Dominique's thoughts, one of the over-arching themes is how those who support trump blame the media for everything and anything negative reported about him - no media, including Dominique and the owner of the media company she works for, can change his direct words - he is saying them - and he WILL be a dictator on Day 1 - just as HE said he will!

This whole channel is built on “opinions” - from religion, to friendships, to menopause, to make-up, to hair and fashion. Because people have come to love and value your opinion on a lot of subjects, they value your opinion on almost every subject - including a political world view. While you do have the right to withhold those opinions, please understand why people would want to hear them. Even this video is “opinion” on how to handle “opinions” on social media. People look up to you and when they want guidance, they go to those whom they respect. It is a sign of honor ❤

As a Canadian watching that Madison Square Garden event, I was overcome by shock and fear over the tone and language coming out of speakers' mouths. I, too, Dominique, have been a long-time journalist with an additional decade over you in that regard, having started my career in 1982. I don't question your positivity and your commitment to professionalism, but I DO question the wisdom, intelligence and judgement of the man who is at the helm of Merit Street Media who is responsible for setting the tone of the network and its journalism. Quite frankly, as an intelligent woman with integrity who subscribes to the foundational tenets of journalist excellence, I would personally detach myself from an organization run by the likes of a willing participant of the nonsensical hate-spewing that took place that day in New York. Being the daughter of a parent whose family was brutally murdered by German troops when they invaded Poland in 1939 made the Madison Square Garden event too familiar and rather traumatic to witness. Let's hope your prayers are as powerful as you say they are and better-placed than the so-called "Christians" who spoke at that event.

Now you sound like Kellyanne Conway, with her "alternative facts" bs. Trump is nothing but a bankrupted buffoon who whines, cries victimhood, spews hate and is a total embarrassment to this country. He is a poster boy for hate and anger. He inherited a great economy from Obama and then turned around and added trillions to the deficit and gave tax cuts to people like Musk and Bezos. He did nothing else, no wall, no bringing back jobs, nothing. He's for corporations who give him huge donations, he wouldnt pee on one of his supporters if they were on fire. So he can’t have a voice or opinion? He’s not a journalist, is he? What about the rights of the baby? Are you aware, if you want to, you can still kill your baby in the US? The Supreme Court has put the decision in the hands of each state. Killing your child via abortion is not a federally protected constitutional right. The decision belongs in the hands of the people who live in each state. We are a constitutional republic and that’s how it works. Even if a state bans abortion after 6, 8 or 15 weeks or a total ban you can get on a bus and go to many other liberal states where you can have an abortion even in the ninth month of pregnancy. President Trump is not even against abortion but he’s not in favor of someone just deciding at any time during the pregnancy into the third trimester to abort unless the life of the mother is in danger which is exactly as most Americans feel regardless of the propaganda you’ve been fed. But it doesn’t matter what Trump thinks because it’s up to the states!Educate yourself before speaking about a country in which you do not even live.
