Naughty Dog's NEXT GAME!
So nearly four years after The Last of Us 2 and its ending we got confirmation that Naughty Dog is working on at least two new PS5 Single-Player Games! Naughty Dog announced the cancellation of The Last of Us Multiplayer Game but confirmed more than one ambitious, brand new single player games that they are working on! After the Grounded II Documentary The Last of Us Part 3 seems like it's coming but it appears to be a ways off! This means in my mind Naughty Dog's next game will be a new IP! Could it be the rumored Stray's Cross or something entirely different! The Last of Us 2 ending clearly to me sets up The Last of Us Part III the sequel. Could we see a NEW Playable Characters in a new Last of Us game? Naughty Dog has a big decision ahead in terms of the future! What do you think Naughty Dog's Next Game is? Can we hit 1000 Likes!?

How can people be burned out with the last of us. There are 2 games . Other than Remakes/remasters . Call of duty is something thats burned out . If you appreciate the art in every room or building. The way nature has grown in on the abandoned urban setting. The weather , that feeling of being freezing cold and wet whilst comfy in your home. The capturing of a desolate abandoned hostile world. Its never been matched. You only see games like red dead 2 come close. It's not just a "game" it's masterful art. Baffles me how people can say they don't like it but will blast away at brain dead,uninspiring games that are absolutely void to any of the elements that bring worlds to life. The last of us 1 and 2 have been crafted with a deep love for the project and it is evident right up until the credits. hands down the best series in gaming history on every level. A third is a must.

I think the open form segments from Lost Legacy and TLoU2 were little experiments which helped them tackle a new open world design for their next game. Going around that little downtown portion of TLoU2 and unlocking things on my own by following a map, off in-game clues and finding gameplay upgrades and self contained stories was one of my favorite parts of that game. On the scale of a whole game, that could be really interesting. Unfurling the plot by discovering story beats on your own, skipping parts of story by finding work arounds or just missing them outright... so cool.

As much as I want Part lll we need a new IP to be established from Naughty Dog. TLOU Part lll would be a great title to end PS5 lifecycle on and also a title for PS6 when it launches similar to when PS5 launched the same year Part ll did. Excited for whatever comes first though.

I heard and still hope for it to be the fantasy/historical piece. 3rd person action adventure in medieval times. Whether a fictional piece of Joan of Arc or what was circulating with their own Game of Thrones like.

Personally I hope that Uncharted doesn't get any reboots or remakes. That series had a perfect conclusion, and it's best to just let things rest. Excited for the next story that Naughty Dog wants to tell.

I think it would actually be a good time for Naughty Dog to go back to Jak and Daxter and have a more lighthearted game after TLoU 2 and all they've been through recently. Might me refreshing for the whole team to work on something that isn't so heavy and dark.

Naughty Dog needs a change in studio leadership, especially with Sony changing leadership after Jim Ryan leaves shortly, and with the recent announcement of a a large amount of layoffs within the Playstation Studio brands and studios themselves in the last 24 hours. I feel for those employees who worked paycheck to paycheck to create games they believed in to their core and after years of faithful service they are shown the door and let go yet the studio heads, Playstation leadership, and Sony senior leadership gets to keep their 6 and 7 figure jobs. Bungie being the prime example. Sony putting in a clause that let's them assume studio control if metrics are not met?! That's called a takeover clause. It's a shame. Those former employees deserve better.

Tbh, I don't really think TLoU3 will be that good. What would they make the game about? I think TLoU2 was a good ending to the series. I see a TLoU3 game working if it's a prequel to TLoU 1 & 2. Like 10 years in the outbreak, stories of what Joel & Tommy have been through. That's my thoughts.

I’m done with naughty dog because they don’t listen to their fans. They block comments because Neil is afraid of name calling. Had they listened to us they would have realized nobody asked for an “ambitious” multiplayer we just wanted a remastered factions. And now because the multiplayer project was too big and it would hinder their ability to make remasters and crappy ports, we don’t get any multiplayer now. I’m not mad about TLOU 2 it was a good game but the company itself sucks.

I think we have a new IP and one that is pretty much ready to launch in 25. Something different and unexpected like TLOU originally was. Factions2 cancel probably put a big damper and change in how we see pt3. If factions2 comes out then there is our content for a bit while ND works out a sequel by 26/27. There is much possibility they have their new IP wrapped up ready to go and are starting pre prod on 3. But how many resources were spent on Fsctions? Was Factions2 and new IP the next projects, was Factions a smaller or 2nd team? You have imagine the post Factions cancel will adopt into a pt3. But I’m more excited for a new IP. I’m excited for a non TLOU ND project. I want to miss this franchise, I want to get this story because it works and the gameplay is evolved not just another entry. I hope we get an incredible new IP, and the love from that will fuel ot3

I LOVED the original TLoU and beat it 10+ times, but I’m not so sure about a 3. I do VERY much enjoy TLoU2, but absolutely DESPISED what they did with the characters. I never warmed up to Abby, and Tommy and Ellie are ruined for me, so not sure why I should care about Ellie or Abby coming back for more. Would I play it? Yes. As they can always do something like the first and amaze me once again, but I just don’t know if I really care about them anymore. I would definitely be on board for a new IP or even Uncharted with the adventure of the others focused on a new character.

I’d like to be excited to play one of their titles again which is why I am hoping for something new. Uncharted and TLOU are amazing series but I felt disappointed by the ending of Uncharted and whatever the hell TLOU2 ended up being. To me it doesn’t matter. It could be anything. There are two main ingredients that make the sauce of a Naughty Dog game. As long as these two key things are continually pushed, then they’ve won in my eyes. Those two things are narrative storytelling: the ability to tell a story in a way that will not only pull you in from scene one, but does so in a way that in some way, shape or form, is relatable. The second, which is equally if not more important is motion capture/matching. If the technology can be so that it grabs all the little nuances of an actor’s performance, then it sells the narrative. The two are like a married couple.

Naughty Dog is in a great position imo. Potentially release a brand new IP soonish followed up by part 3 with some game mechanics of canceled factions 2, maybe factions 2 combined with part 3 completely. TLOU can go on for a few years making hbo seasons out of part 2.

They have no interest in cater to the public and that's the best thing about them. They are artists and follow their vision. So, no, they are not trying to get the ones that couldn't handle a profound story, the ones that want plot armour on their characters, a safe post apocalyptic world.

I agree but there is always the chance that years of work on Factions 2 has gone down the drain because Sony decided they couldn’t make a billion dollars Fortnite style. As far as TLOU. The games are emotionally draining. I can understand that people have a limit for this type of experience, but look at sequels in general. If Just Cause and Far Cry can have as many entries as they do, how could TLOU only have two? Or three for that matter. P.S. I like the Savage Starlight idea
