Don 2 was great because it was Farhan's baby completely. He had full freedom in terms of story. Whereas, Don 1 was basically a remake of Don of 1970s, so he couldn't change much and maneuver the plotline in that film. In Don 2, Farhan really got his game up in terms of script, cinematography, etc. Especially considering this was 2011!! Like that's a decade away now... Moreover, I think SRK was just fabulous as Don in this film. I don't understand why they haven't made a Don 3 yet!

I wonder how you guys missed the 'Don 3' number plate at the end? That was a hint. There was certainly a plan for another sequel but unfortunately, post 2011 such slick action movies lost it place to 'Masala' action entertainers at the box office. Even Don 2 didn't do that good at the BO as per it's merits. And later on SRK's career crisis started where he was in no position to take the risk to make Don 3. And most importantly, Farhan became busy with his own acting career.

SRK became quite reckless around that time and series of Flops later on helped him to become (act) humble.

Hamming is very attached to him . He is a amazing actor but he overacts in over the top acting,he doesn't feel natural . He is the only actor who is big and everyone refer to him as overactor. Movie was never planned for few reasons: 1. The movie wasn't a financial success as people assume it to be. Movie was very expensive on budget and Farhan akhter and ritesh sidhwani sold the movie distribution rights to Reliance at a very high price. Movie underperformed in theatre s and dropped by almost 60% in second week. 2. This movie has a cult following but is not popular among actual mass audience to get in that footfalls looking upon the Don2 performance. Unless they have a very good script and they promote it well. 3. Obviously they need a great script to start with the idea of Don3 or it will fall flat anyways.

Don 2 may be the better movie from don 1 for obvious reasons but aura and acting of SRK was the best in Don1. We got clues of last revel just from SRK's acting in Don1. Where in don2 they were in some scene

They dont didnt Don 3 because Farhan Akhtar was waiting for a great script for Don 3 and now he find it but they are still finishing writing it, so there is still hope to have Don 3

the father son thing, you don't remember is the same kid that Vijay was raising and taking care of. That's why the father was involved in the plot. The kid was the connection between the father and Vijay. And father gets caught because he was doing a task for don.
