All I know is that it's in the Litany of Loreto which has been prayed by many saints of the altar for millennia... Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy. Christ hear us. Christ graciously hear us. God, the Father of heaven, have mercy on us. God the Son, Redeemer of the world, God the Holy Spirit, Holy Trinity, one God, Holy Mary, pray for us. The "Morning Star" or "Day Star" is the herald of the dawn, basically, the "second in command", the one who sings the king's praises, the "brightest of the rest" One can surmise that the title belonged to Lucifer, who fell and became Satan/Belial/etc, the accuser, the liar, the murderer... and then the Blessed Virgin was elevated to the role of the Morning/Day Star.
