Not only is Don my favourite SAFC player of all time, but my first Black hero as a child, as I'm sure he was to many others. If I ever met him I'd probably cry, that's how much I looked up to him as a kid. In an era when racism was rife in the NE, his presence did more to combat the racism in the area than he could possibly know. Every white mackem kid had a picture of big bad Don on their bedroom wall. He totally changed my outlook on life and my attitude towards people with a different skin tone than my own. Love him to bits, always will. The number 8 will always remind me of the legend that is Don Goodman.

Don't talk shite. It's had plenty of media attention over the years. Those watching football in those years don't forget it. And as a result of the tragedy there was an in depth review of old wooden stands at football grounds.

Don & Tony Ford were my heroes for the baggies in the late 80's was gutted when he left for Sunderland , my first experience of supporting a club that usually sells it's best players couldn't umderstand why my hero had left , was even more gutted when he joined the Dingles, cracking player though

We've ALWAYS done that; this is why we'll never build any sort of legacy. I remember being broken hearted when Laurie Cunningham left, then Bryan Robson, then the inevitable descent into mediocrity. Ron Saunders was one of the worst things to happen to us; he even sold Bully too, what at plank.

Always a pleasure to see him about wolves town, well after he stopped playing for us also; visiting my primary school, spotting him often driving around in his merc with license plate 'd0n 1..something like that', bumping into him at wolves train station with bag full of papers on his way to commentate etc. etc. Everyone always reflects what a gent he is. Love Don Goodman, he took time when I was a kid to come into our coach after his game for West Brom at Blackburn, when our lads team had played a Blackburn youth team earlier on the day and then gone to watch the baggies beat Blackburn in the old league division 2 , and said a few inspiring words. Not many Pro’s would take time out after running for 90 minutes. Thanks Don 🙏 Edit- also an articulate and knowledgeable commentator.

Sadly, that is the way of the world. ALL companies are virtually 'shoehorning' women into absolutely EVERY facet of life, just look at the coverage that women's football has received of late. Just look at the $h!te being flung in the direction of Sourness too, bloody disgrace IMHO.
@RichP879
@RichP879 2 жыл бұрын
@@63Baggies No. It's women being more fairly represented and its taken far too long for this to happen. Same with non-white people. Also the higher profile for women's football is long overdue and I'm glad its happening. Aside from, again, fair representation, the WPL has high quality players, the international tournaments are high quality and our fantiastic Lionesses have won our first international trophy for 56 years and I and most of the nation are super-proud of them :) So, no its not shoehorning, its representation - that's the thing.

Karen Carney has 144 caps for England, so she has absolutely played consistently and for a long time, at the highest level. Hence, she is emminently qualified by the criteria you spell out. She is also an excellent pundit - analytical and presents her points with clarity. So how you can use "whereas" in this context requires justification from you.
