I saw Don Ho many years ago at the International Market Place in Honolulu and I will never forget that moment ….. I am from Canada and travelled to Hawaii with a friend who has since passed away. We went to see Don Ho all the time while we were there,

I saw Don Ho several times back in the day. Twice at Duke Kahanamoku's in 68 and twice at the Ilikai in 70 which was after he split with the Aliis. His shows were fantastic and if only I could go to one of his shows one more time. RIP Don Ho. You brought some aloha to many people back in the day as I'm sure you're bringing aloha to God himself in heaven.

Mahalo. This Christmas we were in Oahu again. My favourite place to be. It reminded me of our first visit. Our circle tour guide said of Don Ho, 'He's Hawaii's Dean Martin." I always wanted to see Dean perform live and I feel the same way about Don Ho. The closest we got was walking on Don Ho Lane and seeing his statue at the International Market. At Duke's Waikiki we had the musical trio sing 'Tiny Bubbles' in honour of Don Ho. It was very special.

Thank you so much for posting this! I lived in the South Pacific from ‘65 - ‘67, and this video brings back sweet memories of my parents and grandparents watching his show live at Duke’s. And I am amazed at how many lyrics I remember!! This warms my heart…☺️

Being very respectful to DON HO when I was 16 and lived two blocks from Duke Kojanamokus at the International Market Place I would enjoy seeing Don with the tourists, he was obviously intoxicated and had his arms around the tourists but they loved him.. Charlie's Cab Service drove him home every night. You always saw his white El Dorado parked to the side. The Honolulu Police Department made sure of that.

My grandmother had a small part on his show. Did you ever see the grandma that wouldn’t kiss him when he got the grandmas on stage to sing New York, New York because, as she said on stage, “I have a cold”? She always got a huge laugh from the crowd. It really happened that way one time and when Don saw what a hit it was, he asked her to come back every night and do the same thing. She lived there and was happy to do it. 😊

As a small kid I knew Don Ho from his various TV appearances in the 60s and 70s (sit-coms and variety shows)...It seemed going to a Don Ho show was a must on a Hawaiian vacation. Don did not have a great voice but he could have greatly enhanced a show like this with the use of the Great Tiki/Exotica music of the 60s and 70s.... The stuff Martin Denny and Arthur Lyman played... It seems Don lived fun "celebrity life"....

WOW, Elvis really put Hawaii on the map for the world by making the Blue Hwaii and all what he did for Hawaii. Don here is not even 10 % of that fame what Elvis was for Hawaii. I heard that Don was a biig fan and a friend of Elvis. Rest in peace to both of them.
