I haven't thought about the Jamie Kennedy Experience since the early 2000s. What a surreal time to be alive. A lot like it is today, the majority of people didn't have internet, so things could still build up word of mouth telephone style and no way of broadcasting their thoughts so you just had to guess what people were thinking. But then you had some people who were connected and could tell you about things before anybody else knew. It was like the United States had an acid phase where reality and superficiality of show business melded together and infected every corner of our lives.

@Liam O’Neil it annoys the shit outta me when people act clueless and stupid as if we don't have solid reference as to why some things are offensive. Mexicans don't care if you call them Mexicans. They DO care if you're saying specifically to be negative on a certain topic. Black people don't care if you call them black. They do care if you're being negative in the meaning of that word and on certain topics. There's a difference in saying "the black guy over there standing beside the Mexican guy" vs "looks like nothing's getting done today. Look at the black guy and that Mexican just standing over there"

The best thing snl could do is shutdown. And no bill burr didn't steal this from cumtown. The snl writer who wrote this stole it from cumtown and I guarantee you some of the writers on that show listen to cumtown.
@TheSUPERPOTATO20004 жыл бұрын
@@bodbn It's not even the same bit. The cum town but is just them riffing on funny mobster names with PC buzzwords. This sketch is by-the-numbers SNL. The straight man who's been gone for a while comes back to find out that things are different and he reacts to them. Even if they did hear the cum town bit, they went somewhere completely different with the premise. What do you want them to do, pay royalties?
@TheSUPERPOTATO20004 жыл бұрын
@Diamant I don't know who Kurt Metzger is but he's not a writer on SNL, so I don't know what that has to do with anything. Also, Bill Burr isn't based in New York, he lives in LA, so I doubt he frequents the NY club scene. I really don't know where you're going with this
@TheSUPERPOTATO20004 жыл бұрын
@Diamant So you're saying that the joke is stolen because the SNL writers are likely vaguely familiar with a mid-tier New York standup who happens to A. have written for Amy Schumer and B. frequently lift material from a different comedian who happens to be one of the hosts on the podcast Cum Town, which did a similar bit over six months ago, which somehow found its way all the way through this wacky loop, onto network television. Am I understanding the story correctly?
