Many decades ago, my grandpa was at an Italian restaurant where after ordering he said, “grazie mille.” Don Rickles at the table over then says, “grazie mille. The guy knows two words and thinks he’s fluent!” Whole restaurant laughed and was a great moment.

Even when Johnny retired Don carried on for another 20 plus years and outlasted Johnny and Ed in life . His BFF Newhart is still alive to this day 2021. Don was truly a great comedian and helped bring laughter in times of sadness

One of the highlights of my entire life was seeing Rickles in Las Vegas. LOVED Rickles. LOVED Carson. Lucky to have been a kid when these guys were on TV all the time. After my parents would go to bed, I would stay up and watch the Tonight Show, every night! What an education. And then get up early for school. LOL. Best thing I ever did! Best memories. Great comedy. These guys were just AWESOME.

I watched Johnny Carson for years as a child teen and as an adult I cried watching his final show it really felt awful like I was losing someone I really felt close to he was literally still at the top of his game. Don Rickles and Johnny together was magic these two are hilarious they are truly missed.

A sax player from The Tonight Show band was still with him...they were the only two left. Doc said he was going to keep doingit til he dropped.....it was a fun show.

I all ways knew that I could rely on the Show to come on at a certain time...... and have a few laughs. And now as I am in the Dawn of my Life......... I graduated high school the weekend before this aired. Like many other early 70s baby's, I grew up watching Johnny late 70s throughout the 80s to the day he retired in 1992 (his goodbye show was the last Tonight Show I ever watched) There'll NEVER be another Carson or Rickles because NOBODY will ever come remotely close! Rest in POWER, guys!

I wasn't crazy about Rickles, but admired him for always giving Carson credit for starting his career.

@sjtom57 Although you may not appreciate Mr Tickles humor, Google Dan Rather's Big Interview series with Don Rickles. You may have an appreciation for the man. He loved his mother very much and supported his career choice until the day she died.

Don Rickles. Every morning before I go to work I open KZbin and pick Don at Carson and then starts the day with a smile. He was a genius and thise 2 together....
