He was much better on KFRC... 610 A.M....

Yes he was. KKIS had it's strong signal in the Contra Costa County area, as far up as Sacramento and East to the Stockton area as well. Only a marginal signal in San Francisco. It also wasn't a major market station. KFRC had the big signal (and much bigger paychecks) than KKIS.

@RadioAirchecks And another sad thing is that many D.J.s today kind of sound the same.... I began listening to him starting way back in 1974, and I was in Junior High. He was, like many hundreds of fans, a HUGE part of my mornings.... And mentally helping me to get ready for my school day.... And then he left ( kicked out of ) KFRC.... That was, I believe in 1986.... NO ONE can even come close to his truly great on air persona, or his oftentimes self - depreciating humor. Quick addendum: I once wrote him a fan letter back in 1980. He wrote back thanking me, and included an autographed 8×10 photo, and he was wearing a tuxedo. I still have that picture today, framed very nicely, and using museum glass.
