It’s an inspiring speech, but by the end of the series most of the people in this room are gone: either laid off in the merger (suggested by Don with little oversight by the other partners and NO warning to the staff) or eventually fired in the McCann buyout. To say nothing if the first two times this happened: when they allowed themselves to be bought by PPL, and then when they fled SC to get away from PPL and left most of their staff behind on the sinking ship. For how nice this speech is, ultimately these workers are mere pawns to Don and the partners. They might like to think they care about their employees, but at the end of the day they WILL abandon them if there’s money to be made.
