Yeah, he's always done characters on talk shows. He said in an interview a long long time ago that he only really feels comfortable when he's playing a character. Or at least, that's when he feels the most free to let loose and be funny while on camera. If you ever see him being himself he's actually really normal and laid back. If he wasn't famous you probably wouldn't even pick him out as the "funny guy" in the room. Will is a true comedic actor rather than a stand up comedian. But he's also IMO the best comedic actor alive.

The bird was so calm for a parrot in general, but especially for its species. He seemed like a bit older of a bird too. Probably been in show business a long time 😂😂😂 Edit: I forgot to mention, Will Ferrell is actually a parrot/ bird lover in real life. That bird would have to be his or at least be extremely used to him to be that calm and collected on his shoulder, esp with all those people around. I have a Quaker parrot named Ollie. I had a conure and parakeets in my childhood. They’re very special creatures. But yes Will Ferrell is a parrot lover for real, and I think his favorite are cockatoos. Just a fun fact for everyone.
