My ex wanted the PPQ M2 in 9mm, I prefer .45 she got me a Glock 21 45 ACP, I enjoyed the Glock, but when we would go to the range, I was more accurate with the Walther than the Glock, and I enjoyed shooting the M2 so much I check marked it in my brain that as soon as they came out with the .45 I was gonna get one, imagine my delight when it comes with a threaded barrel...

Nice review. I love my PPQ 45. It's a underrated striker fired 45acp firearm. You don't hear too much about striker fired 45acp firearms. I use Federal HST 230gr in mine for self defense.

I recently purchased a .45 PPQ and love it. I was having an issue with the slide locking back while I was shooting because of how I placed my support hand. I fired it with my support thumb on the slide release and didn't have that problem. Will try again this weekend to see what happens. Having a holster made so I can conceal carry it.

I personally own this forearm and don't worry about a negligent discharge. Proper carry in a proper holster stops that. Weapons retention isn't just about stopping bad guys from getting your gun, it has to do with any loss of your gun, and this gun has multiple passive safety systems so you should be fine!!!

dont know about you, but ive taken apart a walther and notice alot of complicated and intricate parts inside with I think it was 2-3 springs in the firing pin alone, has a retainer spring cup, reciprocating firing pin, and like you said, has a trigger safety. Also has a firing pin block so the risk of an accidental charge is literally extremely unlikely lmao. No bump hard enough unless you hurl this gun at a 100+ mph like a softball will make the gun go off. Just sayin. Also if you are really concerned with safety. Any old sig or H&K WILL NOT have any issues whatsoever as all of them have a real firing-pin block and the sears have a locking disconnector to prevent the hammer from dropping. So NO-RISK accidental discharge. Now the only reason why you might be concerned with ND's is YOU. If you're all fingers and pull a Tex Grebner. Id say the problem with getting shot yourself has alot more to do with you than the gun itself. Which says alot about your lack of training roflmao.

There was a phenomenal scene in the film "Pulp Fiction" which depicted a victim storming out of a room and at a little farther than point blank range emptying a six shot 357 magnum at the two strangers {Samuel Jackson and John Travolta) standing in the room. All six shots missed hitting either of the two bad guys as they looked at each other in disbelief! I have yet to talk to any professionals involved in firearms training that told me that what was depicted was more probable than one could imagine....so yes practice under some type of stress would seem to be in order if you are carrying or at home.

How long can a .10 mm hold you over in this particular situation?
@EastmansHuntingJournals4 жыл бұрын
@@miniondawes2382 Scott here, if we are talking post apocalypse situation then it's all hands on deck with what I was hopefully smart enough to acquire beforehand. Depending on how deep down the rabbit hole we are going then I would have to break it down into several pieces. Bear in mind that reloading would be in my mind a way to stretch things. For food acquisition I am going to be building up a supply of .30 calliber rifle bullets for say a .308 or a .30-06 to build loads that won't deplete my powder supplies quickly if longer range bolt action is the desired weapon. Going really old school a lever action .30-30 might be good but would be light for say elk and I would waste ammunition with follow up shots. For end of the world defense I would have acquired a .223 bullets and plenty of brass as any of those awful situations would lend to not being able to reacquire the brass. In the pistol world being prepared in that situation, I would have the same mindset except I would have acquired whatever I shot the absolute best. That is my line of thought anyway, any other thoughts?
@miniondawes23824 жыл бұрын
@scott thanks for the reply. These are my thoughts exactly. Where as saving brass and reloading I feel were on the same page. I would rather use a bow for hunting, but that's just me. I'm just so glad that there will be people on the same page you know 🤟

Great question! 10mm is a great choice for wilderness but most of the time their frames tend to be a bit bigger and make it a bit more of a duty or bear gun only. (UPDATE: Read reply) Carrying condition 3 puts you are greater physical risk, but massively alleviates you from legal risk. in some states, a negligent discharge, even in your own home, is a mandatory prison sentence. If your trigger is your safety, then my wrist, cambering a round is mine. If people have the time to draw, and find the microscopic safety on a glock, I can draw and chamber a round with this a Walther with no external safety in the exact same time. Also, considering I'd rather die than face criminal charges, I'd rather be carried by 6 than judged by 12. let's be real. Once you have a negligent discharge and are now a felon, unable to own firearms, you're much more screwed than someone in condition 3.

they first dump the 45 for the 40sw and not the 9.. just recently a few department dump the 40sw to 9 due to more capacity and lighter recoil.. nothing can beat a physic, 115gr at 1100fps for a 9 or 185gr at 1100fps will punch more ?. only +p+ 9mm that will do a damage like 45 on meat test but its no point using that hot load, better stick with 40sw rather than use that hot 9mm because it only wear the barrel fast. its personal preferance to carry what you like, i dont like 9mm because i cant feel the recoil and it make me unconfident. the 40sw too much recoil for me to carry, so i end up with 45. 10+1 45 round from a small glock 30sf make me feel better than 10 round of 9mm from a same size glock 26.
