Well done Patience, keep going and good you’ve got a contractor. It’s not cheap but it’s worth it. A lot of people forget like everything building also has professionals. The chain is an architect, contractor, engineer, head foreman, foreman, Mason and labourers, but a lot of people cut out the most important persons and go straight to foreman, mason and labourers. That’s where all the problems come in. Keep going, you are doing well.

Since you haven’t painted the outside I’ll advise you have the injection barrier done to prevent the rising damp. It’ll be significantly cheaper. They only have to chisel the mortar joint area and inject. Pls do consider

Doing a great job Patience. I'm always amazed with your progress and you inspire me. In the US, plumbing pipes are buried at least 12in deep in the ground to prevent accidental damage. Seeing your pipes barely buried, you may want to get your plumber to dig a bit deeper.
@1HavePatience5 ай бұрын
Thank you. Yes, the pipes need to be buried much deeper

I just subscribed to your channel today. I am inspired of how far you have come with your building. I have decided if I build in Ghana, I have to be on the ground from start to finish. Trust is an issue for me in Ghana. The only thing I have purchase in Ghana is land. Even the land I bought I have lost half of them through scam. I also think if you are building a house in Ghana, is better to hire the workers from another region instead of the area you are building because the workers you hire from other regions of Ghana will work hard to complete the project on time so that they can go back home to their families. The workers you hire around the area won't be consistent in working.

Thank you! I appreciate your support on this KZbin journey 😊 I agree the best thing is to be on the ground during the build - even though they will still frustrate you 😅 A good and reputable contractor will also work well because they have their reputation to uphold and wouldn't want a bad name for themselves. When we started, we got the workers in from Kumasi.

With those flies they usually come after it rains, best is to turn off the lights especially outside in the compound because it attracts them and they will go elsewhere.

Flying Ants are attracted to the light at night. When they come out we usually keep thd house dark until they leave.

I have learned something new today, thank you. Usually when it rains there is power cut so the place is dark.

I stopped explaining to people how hard I have to work to amass funds to build because once you travel abroad they see dollar signs and they don’t want to see you as a normal person like them working to get ahead because that doesn’t reconcile with the cash cow view they want to exploit, sad but true.
