I'm sorry you're going through this. It's very disheartening to see division among men I've respected for years. You and your family will be in my prayers.

A very timely, “delicious” message indeed Pastor Joel! This one deserves a chef’s kiss! Happy Lord’s Day! May God continue to bless you, your family, your online ministry, and your church, all to His glory!

Adding sins and increasing people's personal burden was EXACTLY what Jesus was preaching against and why he came in the first place. How that got missed by the Antioch crowd is beyond me.

I don't know anybody who would ever have claimed the biblicist category who would have said they take the simplest understanding of the text. But that might be what Joel did. I have identified as bibkicist since college, today I would call myself a dynamic bibkicist at this point simply because, yes there's a plain reading of the text,,but even more so there is the context of that text, where it was in a passage; which includes verse, chapter, book, and the entire Canon of scripture. The reason why I say that, now in 'my maturity' is that as I read through the Bible, cover to cover, many times, I see meaning that's unlocked because I now understand something in another part of scripture, something that I might not have seen the previous five times I read it. But the Jews at the time, who knew their history very well, who knew their scriptures very well probably would have recognized it much more readily than I did as a gentile. So I would not say that all Biblicists says to interpret towards the simple, but we do tend to take the text as it is and avoid presuppositional knowledge being inserted that we might have heard in a church or from somebody else and try to make it work in the passage, which many Calvinists preachers do do, not all, but many do do this, and this is something that I do have a problem with. There are two parts that I didn't really hear Joel talk about in the first thing is that we don't read the Bible alone for a Christian we have the Seal of God's holy spirit to help us understand. I do not believe it was only given to the apostles and then to the pastors I believe we all have access to that. However we all start is beginners and that means we start off not knowing everything and perhaps having ideas that we thought were true that later we realized well maybe it doesn't quite work that way . And you know what I praise God as he does this. It shows his deity and the divine inspiration that delivered the revelation if scripture. I'm not going to call Joe out on here, because he's giving his progression through levels of maturity and not everybody will progress the same way, but it was fascinating to hear that I appreciated hearing that.

I'm sorry to bring you this bad news. You will be getting a 2nd excommunication notice from your friends, the Antioch Declaration Collaborators. It is for the serious infraction of disparaging Jewish rabbis in your public sermon. We are also seriously studying the New Testament to expunge from that sacred document any passages that seem to disparage this same group as well. Have a nice day!

If the Antioch declaration is now becoming a creedle, or confession by which all Christians must abide by. You have In Essence gone away from Sola scriptura. To man's new tradition. That makes you an apostate by adding to God's word In Effect.

This is about as subtle as a brick to the forehead. Pretty clearly Joel being defensive.

@@DerickTherving I absolutely mean no disrespect when I say this, sincerely. That being said, I for one am so grateful for this! I know Pastor Joel, and all of us, are not perfect nor shall we ever be, but Jesus Christ is. As His blood bought brethren, in His grace we are being sanctified! Direction not perfection!! I have so much respect for pastor Joel and everyone there with Right Response for the real life in the flesh example that we are given. Totally can't be easy for Joel or any of them but I really truly believe that they go out of their way for the brethren. As well as they sincerely do love the body of Christ. Very glad for the ability the Lord has given them all in showing us how to make application of God's Word in every area of life. To God be the glory! ✝️ 🙏❤️
