It’s funny. I was in a place where I felt like I needed to move to Tibet and become a Buddhist monk. Not too long ago, a good friend told me I’m already a monk. That made me realize it’s all about the world inside me. Thank you for your video.

I live in Malaysia which is neighbouring to Thailand. In my family, we often go to Buddhist temples. So seeing monks is normal for me but never in my life do I ever dream that one day I will be listening to a monk tru youtube and speaking in English. Its just amazing. Thank you for sharing Nick. I was alone with my mother when she passed in 2012 from cancer. I remember saying to her "if you think it is time to go you are fee to move on, or you can stay as long as you wish, all of us will be ok". She passed 1 minute later. It is hard at times to practice as I am not around alot of people and the ones that are do not really understand the changes I have been practicing for 10 years . Dear Ven Nick, I'm so happy to hear you talk about this beautiful experience with your heart in your hands. You were so honest about it even allowing us to see how this impacted you. 2020 allowed me to understand impermanence, when my mother died. As you said, it is hard. The stuff mum had been given to make her happy and to make her life comfortable stayed behind. She went empty handed as she was when she was born. The accumulation of things is madning, and despite all that has been said to make impermanence understood, people still don't get it which is why they are terrified about death; they are so attached to their 'belongings', and life itself. For some time now, I've been working on 'letting go'. Thank you for being such a genuine and kind monk. May 2021 be kinder to you and all your followers.

Luang Pe Nick, your talk was very pertinent to everyone whether they realise it or not, it's easy to get lost along the road of life through the many things that are placed in our paths to distract us. Khun Yai once showed me a tree in winter time without its leaves and said this is what life is like, when we are born it's at the base of the tree and as we go further in life we come to the branches which lead to other branches on and on, she said we must stay on the path and not be distracted away from it, meaning from the base to the top of the tree is the path and the branches are the roads through life that we may get lost on and can't find our way back to the path. Your talk reminded me of the Khun Yai lesson of not being reckless and staying focused. Venerable Nick you have abundant wisdom and doing a great service for your fellow beings.
