Just a clarification...Tommy's statement regarding the duel top option: "it gives you a hardtop with a soft to mounted underneath so you can just fold it up" is 100% NOT accurate. You cannot have the soft top and the hardtop on at the same time, you have to choose one or the other and store the one you're not using. When you purchase your Jeep with the dual top option, the soft top comes packed in a large box in the back of the Jeep, but it is definitely not mounted with the hardtop.

Loved this video. I really can fanboy the hybrid powertrain. I have a 2021 4xe. Of 5 Wranglers I have owned, it is my favorite by far. Awesome powertrain, plus the $7500 tax credit which isn't mentioned in this video - really makes the ownership cost of the vehicle to be much cheaper than any other powertrain option. Real world experience is that I am averaging 38 mpge on this vehicle as an apartment dweller. Also, something I haven't seen a lot of comments on boards - because the ~800 lb battery is placed beneath the rear bench seat and spans the full beam of the vehicle it lowers the center of gravity and provides additional roll and yaw stability. It also seems to smooth out some of the steering wobble.

Well Tommy I saw you talking to the Chrysler ceo at one of the expos recently and he said that you have till January 2023 to order a eco diesel in the wrangler and then they are gone for ever. So I got off my ass in a panic and said holly crap I gotta get the diesel before there gone forever. Now the ceo mentions that they wer going out with a bang. I saw the limited purple rain color and thought that’s the bang! It took me a week to pull the trigger. The salesman said sorry that color ended yesterday. I was pissed off! So I started doing some research on the colors available and found out about the Rubicon FarOut edition. That’s what I ordered. A blue Wrangler Rubicon FarOut edition with half doors!! It will be here in a month. I’m so happy, like a kid waiting for Christmas!

I’ve owned a 2018 JLU Sport S, and now I own a 2021 JLUR Soft top. I wanted an easy way to go topless during these Minnesota Summers, instead of having to go through the trouble of unbolting and lifting a hardtop. I bought it in February 2021 from the nice people in Burnsville (Shoutout). Maybe I missed it, but I didn’t hear you talk about the 4High Auto option on the automatic transmission. That was the second reason why I upgraded to the Rubicon. The remote start, heated front seats and steering wheel are priceless. The 8” screen is nice. Much better than the 7” screen that was in my Sport S. The LED head and taillights are so much better than the halogen headlights. One thing I don’t like is the key fob. The panic button is huge, and can and will be set off just by having it in your pocket. If it gets below freezing, your Jeep might not be able to detect it. That might be an issue if you keep it in a jacket pocket, or in a purse and spend sometime outside. Other than that, I highly recommend getting a Jeep. I was looking at the 2023s a few months ago, and I saw they had a purple color option that must have gone away. Reign was the name, but maybe they decided not make it available yet. I know that’s the only color I’d like more than my Firecracker Red Jeep 😊

Factory ordered a '21 Unlimited Sport Altitude last year for my wife. I wanted the 3.6l but was not willing to pay extra for it nor was I willing to get it with the Etorque. Disappointed, we ended up with the 2l turbo. At this point, I am now a huge advocate of the 2l. Very powerful and gets shockingly good fuel economy. I have the 3.6 in my Grand Cherokee Trailhawk - that is a great engine as well but I would not take it over the 2l in the Wrangler after experiencing both.
@slavakuznetsov4966

I drove both (with 8 speed automatic) and the 2.0L Turbo fuel economy is at least 4-6 MPG above the V6 using 87 octane, and gets even better for 91. V6 is a good truck engine (great for towing) and rock crawling - that's why it can be found in many RAMs, in Gladiator, and Wrangler. The real problem with V6 + 8 speed automatic is the crappy eTorque system, and if you live where the temperature reach down to -40 - gotta stay away from any FCA hybrids, especially 4xe.

Auto start stop failure caused a replacement with many visits to the shop: Auxiliary battery. Main computer. Electronics module. Alternator. Even the cheapest very basic standard Wrangler two door just with its factory HR and LR and without lockers or a winch can go almost anywhere. It's the break over angle thats way superior to the four door . It's incredible light weight, makes climbing almost vertical rock faces a breeze or steep snow or mud inclines look so easy , because its not trying to pull massive weights especially soft top equiped versions at 1405KGs is really easy for the engine and gear ratios to get you anywhere or over anything. So from experience the basic 2door wrangler it just never seems to loose traction . Always has plenty more power for you and the gear ratios are so good you don't get stuck unlike like other heavy 4x4 in the 1800kgs 2200 kg ranges . It's a true legend classic , can't be beaten and is what makes this little jeep arguably the best off road capable vehicle of all time .

Im not a fan of how car companies been making engines smaller and putting a turbo on it. So my next wrangler will not have any turbos or diesel engines.

It’s not that expensive to change Jeep exterior lights to LED’s. Plenty of aftermarket options with halo lights, etc. That was the first thing I changed when I recently bought a used JK. Halo lights are cool daylight driving lights and I think are safety issues too. Your Jeep is less likely to blend into the background.

You can't forget the self corroding aluminum, doors, hinges, hood, tailgate and windshield frame feature they still haven't fixed. It was the last straw on my troubled 20 gladiator. Something the dealership would have to repaint almost all the Jeep. Oh and it would come back within a year or two. I see so many corroding from the inside out in parking lots. This is a problem they will all get due to the aluminum misprep. I would wait until they finally address all the issues at least somewhat.

If you buy a Wrangler be sure to bring it into the dealership every time your UConnect acts up and then lemon law that thing. The UConnect on the JL Wrangler is broken beyond repair. They make software updates that fix one thing and break another. You cannot ever reset it. You literally have to park your Jeep for 1 hour and try again and then maybe the touchscreen will work or maybe your Apple Car Play/Android Auto will work without giving you a "device not supported" message. Some people say you can open the hood, pop the right fuse and that'll restart it... I'll never do this because when I had my aux battery replaced literally nothing worked and Jeep had to re-program the radio with the VIN to let the car know what features should be present. For example the backup camera was nowhere to be found, SiriusXM doesn't work, etc. I understand software. I know it can be flaky at times. That's why any sane company would provide a way to restart the thing other than "pulling over and waiting an hour". It's a safety thing too. Sometimes the touchscreen just stops working altogether. Then you're messing with your phone trying to get music playing, make phone calls, etc. Every other piece of equipment I have you can hold the power button down for 10 seconds and it'll restart, why Jeep hasn't figured out a way to do this is beyond me.

We have a gladiator soft top, just took at 1200 round trip road trip which had some windy mountains in the middle. Was surprisingly quiet and in colder weather I've been really surprised how not cold it is. Pleasantly surprised and to me the ease of the soft top is totally worth it over the hard top. We have a manual too and the pentastar did ok but you do need to know where your power bands are and what gear you should be in where. We averaged 20.4 on the way down and 20.1 on the way back, both through mountains. I do wish jeep would have the 5.7 hemi. Would be perfect for those who don't want to or can't pay for the 6.4 but still want a v8. As far as options, we have the willys sport, gobi color. Screen is bigger now, only annoying thing is not having power locks.

I do have a question and like to know your opinion. I'll be only going to my cabin once a month and I need a 4x4 during the wintertime. I definitely want a Rubicon, but 90 or 95 percent of the time will be city driving. Does it make since to have an extra set of wheels & tires for city driving. I then can always change back to the all-terrain tires for if and when I go back up to my cabin? Thank you and I'll be watching your channel.

If it has 4 doors, it is not a jeep anymore. You lose everything that is fun about a jeep to gain practicality. Having driven one of my Wranglers for 13 years, I still miss it (traded for something more practical. LOL). The maneuverability in a short Wrangler is so much fun! Plus it looks so much better. The 2-door brings all the smiles. If you are a two car family, consider the traditional 2 doors. The 4 door is the practical choice, but will that bring the smiles? If I could keep my Dad vehicle and buy a Jeep, it would absolutely be a 2 door with a manual transmission.

Good morning guys. Great job on the video. A couple things that I would add. One is on the engine option with regards to the e torque. I couldn’t find a lot of information on the e torque, it’s reliability and repair ability if it had an issue. Unfortunately they don’t offer the 3.6 without it anymore or I would have chosen it. This influenced my decision into purchasing the 2.0 instead. I hope I don’t regret that. Lol. The other is on the interior seat options. Now I ordered the hydro blue rubicon, and am not a fan of the red interior highlights. The only way to change that is by changing the interior option to the saddle tan which is what I did. I know many people just respray the dash but then you still have the red stitching. Just my .02. Keep up the great work!
