As a former Chrysler Tech, I've seen these GB70s all over the shop and have personally used them. They're ok but they don't last in a professional environment over extended use. Plus they seem to struggle with dual battery diesels like the Ram 2500/3500. I'm a battery technician for AAA now and I would personally recommend the Yesper Armor over a GB70 any day. It's half the price of the GB70 and out performs it by a long shot.

Just yesterday I had AAA come give me a jump start using jump box with no result, called AAA again and had them send a flat bed to have it towed, he pulled out his jump box, and bam started immediately. So my question is are there different amperage jump boxes .. Vehicle is a F150
@nausticaz68452 жыл бұрын
@@seabreezeof The company provided jump pack they give us is only rated for 2000-2500 amps but its made to last us a 13hr shift before recharging over night. These packs don't last forever. Especially when they get used daily. My guess is that his pack was no good. It should easily jump an F150 with no problems. I personally bought the Yesper Armor specifically to jump dual battery diesel trucks because the 2000 amp jump packs they give us simply do not have the power. The Yesper Armor is much smaller in size but it packs a 3000 amp punch. It will jump a diesel 5-6 times before it needs a recharge, which only takes 30min. It comes with a 100watt car charger

@@nausticaz6845 I followed up with the first aaa driver, he told me he had jumped 10 vehicles before coming to me. Additionally he said he checked on the unit he has, and said its only 1800 amps. So there's the issue, 10 jumps before me, and only 1800 amps. It was not enough to jump a F150 truck battery.

When I parked my car for a week and all the engine oil migrated in the oil pan and try to start it on a very hot day with the jumper. All it did was engaging the starter with a clicking sound, engine didn't budge even partially. Nothing worked, not even with the portable lithium ion jumper in parallel with a heavy dry cell battery jumper (the one with the compressor). Had to charge it overnight, not what you need when the car is stuck in the street on a hot day. I see my neighbor couldn't start his V8 full size truck either with the lithium ion jumper or using a jumper cable from car to truck. AAA came in with a commercial dry cell heavy duty jumper for him.

I can't tell if this video is just shilling for Amazon as so many others do, and maybe just deciding what's the "best" based on Amazon reviews alone. Did a person actually test these in a real situation of dead batteries? It sounds also like someone typed out copy and a robo voice reads it, could be from the companies themselves. Maybe the voice over is just too clinical or maybe it's me being skeptical again. I can't decide if this is useful or just sales pitches for sponsored products. BTW I'm getting super suspicious that Amazon reviews are becoming very unreliable as actual customers get perks and discounts to give 5 star ratings all the time. I will keep searching for hands on in the field reviews of these jump starters.
@kestuxd69532 жыл бұрын
I agree so much with you! Indeed, as you can see he gives no real reasons why he ranked one product or another at the place he chose, nor why he chose those 5 products in the first place. Now here are the arguments that I think make no sense: 1) for the 1st starter: long cables? Look again at 2:09, it's 5 inch max! Of course, the shorter the cables the better, if they are long enough for your situation, but you don't give that as plus if it's not true, right? 2) for the 2nd charger: the battery of 18000 miliaps per hour? it's miliamps TIMES hour, not divided. (3:28) 3) For NOCO GB70, what is reverse technology protection, please? 8:08 4) NOCO GB70 what those 15700 joules have to do? It's energy.. so what? meaning it's powerful power pack? If it's outputting 2000 A as they claim, for 12V, that can last for 0.65 seconds until it's completely depleted. Formula is work (Joules) = voltage (Volts) * current (Amps) * time (seconds). This guy has no idea what he is talking about. Maybe it's the peak moment current that lasts a few miliseconds, it that case I step back, but still 15kJ doesn't seem like a lot of energy. One single AA 1.5V battery has a few kJ of energy. 5) NOCO GB70, what has compatibility to do about it? Well, sure, as long your battery is 12V it's compatible, but so is every other starter in the world. This argument makes no sense at all. Besides all of that, I tend to be very forgiving towards juniors. We are all humans and make mistakes. Learning is hard and takes some time, but this guy has 110k subscribers, so he is not one of them. My conclusion is: this video is very poorly made, the arguments were very strange or incorrect, the co called tech-reviewer has no idea about basic physics nor technology, apparently, and his statements make no sense. I give 2 out of 10 for this video.

@yomoms163 жыл бұрын
When you're connecting the black cable , you're connecting to the ground of the vehicle. So you are connecting to the ground.
@CaliforniaTravelVideos2 жыл бұрын
The confusion is between a 3 wire system (like home wiring) and an automotive 2 wire system (automotive car, truck, motorcycle, etc). With a 2 wire system that runs on DIRECT CURRENT, typically the black negative battery cable is directly connected to the heavy metal piece that runs through the entire vehicle, so on your black jumper you can connect to the battery or a heavy metal portion of the frame that has a good solid electrical connection (no paint, rust, loose metal brackets, etc) On a home with 3 wires, the electricity must run between the "hot" (white wire) and the "neutral" (black wire). Here the black wire is NOT the negative since homes run on ALTERNATING CURRENT (a bit confusing but don't worry). At any rate, the 3rd green wire in the home is connected to a ground rod outside the home to avoid shocking or electrocuting people. That's why on a HOME or other 3 wire A/C systems, the voltage black wire is not connected to ground. Okay?

The noco's have all a serious problem: if they are not kept at least 40% they may not recharge anymore. Also , they take forever to recharge fully from a household phone jack usb. Most of the bigger models will simply not recharge execept from a running vehicule 12 volt power outlet. Lastly , they don't last very long: usb charging port is fragile and internal circuitry is weak. Watch many noco repair videos on youtube. They are also overpriced. Don't forget that like all car batteries these jump starters lose a lot of power if left in the cold so shop accordingly for your engine size.

A mAh is not 'per hour'. That makes it sound like you could get 20,800 * 2 if you ran it for 2 hours. If it was 'per hour', it would be mA/h, not mAh.
@johncrosley13 жыл бұрын
Ah or mAh are both correct to denote capacity, however it’s all lies with these manufacturers when it comes to the specs. These units have two or more voltage outputs and they add these numbers together to give the impressive figures.They omit to mention these voltages are all generated by one 12v battery. The important number is the Wh (watt hours). Divide this by 12 v to give the true capacity, normally around 3 or 4Ah, about the size of a moped battery, not the 20 plus Ampere hours they say. If they lie about this I wouldn’t trust anything they say.
@shanejohns79013 жыл бұрын
@@johncrosley1 I was arguing that mAh is not the same as mA/h. Beyond that, what you're saying is certainly correct. It appears that some Chinese manufacturers are playing games with their regulators, and the regulators are taking a blind eye to the games. I was just recently shopping for smoke detector battery replacements, and saw a nickel metal-hydride 9V battery online being sold with a claim of 900 mAh. And the max that can be squeezed into that chemistry & size package: "The capacity of 9 Volt NiMH rechargeable batteries range between 175 to 300 mAh". Without knowing better, I'd say that their regulatory agencies will accept any excuse that SEEMS innocent.
@CaliforniaTravelVideos2 жыл бұрын
Hmm, technically you're all correct, sorta... They are saying the RATE of the current (Amperes), not promising that level of current will be delivered one or more hours. For instance, a Cheetah may be able to run at 50 to 80 MILES per hour... but that is also the RATE over a short burst of 1/4 of a mile - no, it can't run that speed a full hour. And while John is correct that generally it's nice to multiply 12 volts x 2 amp (or whatever) to discover the battery holds 24 Watts. Yet when starting a automobile, we really do want a short, very fast burst of current (Amps) to rush into the starter, so that's why it's also important to know the Amp hours (Ah) or mAh (Ah x 1,000). Whew, so we're all sorta correct LOL!
