My concerns aren't even performance, attention or even the cost. Just like you I'm quite reserved and love my loud cars so an R32 is definitely the right choice. It was always the complications of having a RHD affecting vision especially when making left turns. It really isn't that bad right? I guess you just need to be more aware of your surroundings.

I'd recommend not getting one. Buy something cheaper and wait until you're out of college. I was in the same boat less than a year ago, and I realized that buying a car that you can't get parts for and dealing with insane insurance rates isn't the best idea. I know everyone says this, but buy a miata (or something else sporty but not a headache to deal with). Edit: I realize everyone in this comment section is under the age of 18 (me included), don't buy a car like this with all of your savings. I know it's tempting, but please don't get into the mindset of "if i save up for a year I can get exactly enough to buy a gts-t" because you'll have nothing left to do anything. And for the love of god, don't immediately buy a body kit and drop 5k in parts, make sure the car actually runs for a few months before you do anything.

Depends on the state. But u can only register it like that if you drive it to shows and stuff. Insurance was cheap tho. I was going to insure it for like 25-30k value. And i suggest everyone insures it for more so if anything happens to it. They get paid out.

Depends on your age, state/city, and driving record. But its not much. Basically the equivalent to insuring a newer nissan maxima.

@@Ilovedeiselguzzling I didn’t end up doing it, I drove a buddy of mines R32 GTS-T around for a bit and it didn’t scratch the itch so I ended up with a 99 Miata that’s going to get turbocharged. It was still a great car but just not the right fit personally.

It honestly is tough, especially when people overcharge so much more now. Back then I got mine 13.5k with the rb25 in it. No rust. Now rusty, rb20, sometimes doesn't run or needs work people asking 20-25k. Then the rb25 is like $5k for the engine pretty much stock and used. Sad

If you want it that bad, go for it. But I would highly recommend against it. You have to do some much to comply with regulations, you have to pay extra to get it tested and all that, and if you want to modify it at all you’re basically screwed because California lol

Your best bet is to buy a vehicle thats already imported. Or work with one to get the exact car you want. But california is the best place to get one because they have the largest variety of imported cars even though the laws are strict.

Rb's are pretty reliable tbh. I beat on the car every day and not one issue. And with 50k u can get A LOT. U can buy a built r32 gtr for less and run low boost ull be around 4-500 whp mostlikely.

I'm building my hcr32 right now. Handle your water pump and oil pump and if you can , get the crank collar . It's not needed for below 550whp but and upgraded n1 oil.pump and gear is. Also I recommend a head drain. Change out the ceramic turbo as well. Anything newer . I would recommend keeping the clutch fan and definitely upgrading the intercooler and a bigger radiator. Rbs love heat , so managing that is very Important. Other then that, I'd keep the rpms 8k . No more then 7500. Having a decent turbo, like a gt3071r, very good mid range. Get you some ID1050 injectors and a walboro 450 fuel pump, down pipe and tune and you will see 350/ 400 whp easy. Rods are good for not much more then that , and head gasket is a weak point at 400 whp as well.

Front mount IC does nothing for power. It enables you to turn the boost up, because you can dissipate more heat. It also creates more lag, because now you have more volume to initially fill. Once your on boost, that is another story. Sorry to nit pick. FYI the RB20s have better blocks than the RB25s or RB26s. :) But, I understand where you're coming from, no replacement for displacement. unsure where you got your story, but i actually have life long experience in r32's and r33's. first modified car ive ever been in, first turbo'ed car ive ever been in, first sports car etc. first car ive been around and fallen in love with due to real life experience with em. not the typical "i saw it on fast and furious" "i saw it in a game" bullshit lol. my uncle RIP to him had an r32, and r33 amongst his modified cars in jamaica. same with my love for e36's my uncle in america had an e36 m3 back in the day. loved it. and that ended up being my favorite car of all time. which is why im currently on my 2nd one.
