I've been cutting for 32 years (1990) and I agree with this brother. The corded clippers perform much better. I have 6 pair of cordless clippers and don't get the same finishing product. A pair of corded Fast Feeds, Wahl Seniors, Andis Master with the fade blade (for Afros) and T outliners (andis or wahls) will always give you great results.

But lighter clippers are better for your health in the long run. And cordless cuts faster
@Nolepower Жыл бұрын
@saidzueke4782 I don't agree my brutha. A pair of Fast Feeds with a #1 moving blade from a 76er (but keep the outter still blade) is unbeatable. Very light and they cut precise. Also the Wahl Seniors are not that heavy at all. I have multiple pairs of cordless clippers and have modified them to my liking but corded clippers will always be king from my perspective. It's the direct amperage they get to the motor.

I'm a brand new barber student. I have both but I agree with this guy. I see many advantages to learning to manage the cord on a corded clipper. The top of the line corded clippers and trimmers are generally cheaper than the top of the line cordless. You won't run out of power and one or two years in you won't have to replace expensive lithium batteries. I'm stocking up on corded workhorses now while they're still perceived as dated. I just got my first Wahl Senior corded clipper and it went through bulk like a hot knife through butter.

I started cutting around the time a lot of cordless clippers came out. Ive pretty much tried them all but no matter what theres always been at least one corded clipper/trimmer on my station. The cordless GTX made me miss the corded GTX. The first cordless master was trash so I sold it and bought a corded Black label master. I heard the cordless fast feed was trash so Im trying out a corded fast feed topaz.

I don't know if I agree with what your saying I been cutting for 15+ years and 100% I recommend cordless clippers for newer barbers for a few reasons 1. They are often lighter then their corded counterpart 2. There's less hassle when it's cordless some new barbers are clumsy and will smack the cord off of a client's face 3. There's nothing that you can do corded that you can't do cordless in 2022 The only thing I can say that's perhaps a con is cordless is a bit more expensive and you do have to have more then 1 fade clipper if you don't choose a clipper with a stand and maybe I suppose you could forget to charge you clipper at night when you close up shop but even with that being said cordless clippers work and charge with the cord plugged in

All valid points! But cutting hair should be consider and treated as an Art. These days most people think they can wake up tomorrow and be a Barber Bc they can afford the latest and greatest clippers without actually taking the time to experiencing and going thru the steps to become a good barber. Yes cordless can be all those things you mentioned. But again I think what this vid implies is to the average up and comer barber is not to get caught up on expansive gears now since the most expansive gear of 10 years ago (corded) are much affordable to get you started today. I been thru lots of barbershop with lots of barber who didn’t even take the time to learn proper Barber educate yet they’re “ CUTTING” hair prolly diminishing the profitability from the barber that actually does the good deed to become one. ( sorry for the book reply ! Lol ). This profession has been water down so much is not even funny.
@CobbInterscope2 жыл бұрын
@@yugol.5812 I agree with it being watered down and I also agree that it is in fact an art that being said I still do stand behind what I said I do believe that cordless is the better Route how ever only spend the money if cutting is a passion if your on the fence about cutting then it's already not for you. It takes a very long time to get to where you can confidently say you can cut any style of hair and even being able to say that dosnt mean there's not gonna be hair that you struggle with because this deep in and every once in a while I get thrown a curve ball and have to adjust my style kn the fly to accommodate that specific cut any way I'm rambling what I'm saying is no you don't need cordless or corded at the end of the day try both and see which one fits you better I prefer cordless and recommend cordless to new and old barbers alike the clippers I would recommend as far as branding goes may have changed since my original comment I agree with just about everything you said I believe the convenience of cordless out weighs the pros of keeping the cords don't go and buy the super expensive joints off the jump wait until you can afford them them spend what ever you want

Brother, what about trimmers? Like between cordless and corded Wahl Detailer? On paper, the motor on the cordless Detailer is 6800rpn, whereas on its corded model is 5000rpm. So, in the case of Detailer, the cordless should be more powerful. However, I don't know if there is any real power difference between them in real life usage. Have you felt any power difference between the two which would make one better in your opinion?
@nateholton2 жыл бұрын
I used to use the corded detailers back in the day, but cordless detailers are good. I personally did a mod on my cordless detailers that lets me put a gtx Andis T outline blade on them. I like the gtx blade because it’s a all around blade once you zero gap them properly .. line, shape, and cleans up well.. very smooth on the skin
@theFaramarz2 жыл бұрын
@@nateholton That seems like one nice mod. I've heard some don't like the power on the cordless. And that's what I find most bizarre, because considering that 1800rpm power difference it should, at least, feel more powerful.
@xikaryo67352 жыл бұрын
The only problems I have with cordless clippers are that they’re way overpriced, and barber enthusiasts are so easily fooled by hype they make it easy for brands to get away with overpricing trash because people are buying them. It’s kinda like how Babyliss started this trend of “gold clippers”, which ain’t even real gold mind you, but still makes dumb people think “oooo gold, that must be quality!” 😂 The other issue is obviously that cordless clippers lose power and you’ll have to eventually replace the built in battery with another. To be honest though, I still prefer cordless. Corded is just inconvenient, looks ugly, has extra weight due to the cord, and isn’t the future we need. We need cordless to become standard so that the completion can force price drops across the board.

I've been cutting hair for 35 years and I can say with no question this is straigh-up bad advice, period. One reason is because a lot of barbers are mobile and need to cut hair whenever and wherever. The biggest reason is because many high end, high quality cordless clippers that are just as good as the Andis Master and far better than anything Wahl has ever produced do work corded.

@@nateholtonLarry of Larry's barber college used to do all his stuff with a pair of Masters, and even described on video how he'd workaround the potential heat issue. He'd do some clipper work, line up some, back to clippers and eventually found a system to counteract the heat Also, not sure if they made a change recently, but I never find my Masters to heat up to a great extent, just your average clipper heat after some usage, nothing too major.
