@iiWiReviews...I have the Auva 50's on my Ascend Acoustic Sierra RAAL V2 Bamboo Cabinet Towers. I was so impressed, ordered the Auva70's to hear for myself what differences/improvements might be had. Once I had experienced the 70s, Josh offered me the opportunity to return for credit either set! For Me, the 50s offer a full tonal bandwidth balance that leaves Nothing missing on the audio table...deep bass , mid base definition (speed, punch and tightness), midrange clarity and liquidity and top end openness and articulation...All with very natural realism and superb holographic 3D presentations (LIVE)! I find once a listening session is started, it is hard for me to shut it down or even skip through any cuts...I Have To Hear All of the Album (and many more)!! With the 50s, all music genre Sings and calls for my full, undivided attention!! The system and room Totally Disappear...I Am There with the Musicians in the recorded venue!! 🤗 😎 The 70s do take these characteristics a step up, but find I am missing the mid-bass kick (100 to 250hz)...it is there, but "anemic" at best! The midrange and treble are very clear, but somewhat too analytical and cold...not so musical or emotionally involving as per the 50s! The overall presentation of micro/macro hyper details, although greater and more open than the 50s, seems cold and hard and soon induces, to my ears, listener fatigue. 😳 No doubt the 70s with my system, in a different dedicated music room (not possible in my home), or with a different synergy of components, cabling or speakers, could Really Shine Superbly! 😉 👍

I love the way you describe what you are hearing. I bought a couple of sets of Stackaudio EQ component isolators which are quite a lot cheaper than their auva speaker isolators. I totally agree with everything you described! Totally transformative. Best value upgrade you can make to any system in my view.

I built a few years ago to verify if the improvement is very noticeable. And yes, it is. My two pair of speakers are internally improved so that they do not vibrate but I still appreciate the improvement by better decoupling them from the floor and furniture.

Thanks for the review. I’ve had my eyes on these and you confirmed what others are saying. On another note, I replaced the partial board shelf under my preamp with one made from quartz I had made and was also shocked by the improvements similar to what you described.

Excellent review. I do believe vibration control has very positive effects on equipment. Specially those that have mechanical moving parts like speakers, cd players, turntables and such. However, the price of these feet are really out there. Only testing them against my own solutions would I be willing to spend that kind of money. Please do not worry about the trolls. I purchased the Oehlbach shock absorbers for around 30€ and placed them between my Dali Rubicons and Solid Steel SS6 top plate. I never would have imagined the noticeable change in sound signature like it has in my environment. The bass is tighter, soundstage clearer, better defined, a more agile sound. Considering how expensive my setup is, these 30€ absorbers are a no brainer and simply fantastic. I also added the Dynavox high-end dual absorbers for the Solid Steel spikes. Fantastic quality for the price. These two items combined made a substantial difference to my setup. Isolation, dampening, shock absorbers are a must. ❤

While not particularly aesthetic, washing machine feet are fantastic and cheap. If they can stop a washing machine from vibrating the ground, they will definitely be able to isolate speakers and stop speakers vibrations too.

Great review and analysis Srboljub. I have been looking at and implementing vibration attenuation of my hifi components for quite a few years and indeed found great improvements can be made for a relatively small amount of cash compared to buying new equipment! I have looked at all aspects of my audio system and found benefits can be made to every piece of gear especially my turntable but also as you have found speakers. But there are other interesting vibration control techniques that can be applied to amplifiers and digital equipment too.😀 As always your analysis of the sound improvements is spot on! What convinced me about vibration control was a particular record I heard which had some clapping at the end which was very indistinct and just a blurred noise. After working on my turntable this could be heard as individual clapping and was an astonishing revelation just because I controlled the vibration enough in order for the stylus/turntable to produce the sound cleanly.

Outstanding review. In that your personal accounting of the significance of vibration mitigation and just how it has been done in your field was particularly telling. Validating, as I can hear differences depending on what I put under - or even on top of - my preamp. Bastion Audio has something similar, using varied materials in their spike pucks instead of sand. Maybe not quite on the same level, but still very effective. And much cheaper 🙏🏼👍🏼

Spring isolators are an affordable alternative if you have bookshelf speakers. They made a genuinely large difference in my Lintons. Springs under the speakers on top of the stands. Takes the disappearing act to the next level and cleans up the bass so much.

In my small space I have to put my bookshelf speakers on a wide cabinet. No room for stands. I ended up putting them on Isoacoustics speaker stands. It definitely helped. Improved the sound in my situation but I cannot confirm it would have helped if I did have speaker stands but on my cabinet it did. I’m a believer in isolation but I have a unique case. Isolation feet also helped with my home theater subwoofer in my living room but they don’t need to cost a fortune. I think I payed $50 usd for them from SVS.

I did something very simple. Based on my own idea. I have 1 pair of "Duntech Princess C-5000". About 60-65 kg each. Round 1,80m High. These stand on a 30mm slate plate. A carpenter/wood turner made 8 balls (30mm) for me from Grenadilla wood. Grenadilla is closest to ebony, which is also used to make instruments, but it is not protected. Total cost about €100.-. Result: excellent. In addition, I put a blanket like a scarf at the base of each speaker. Against standing waves. Cost €20.- Not too expensive to try.

Thanks for the interesting idea! First, when I saw the word "spikes", a little tensed. And then it became curious. But what do you think: if instead of spikes for many dollars, use cuvettes to develop photo paper ($ 1 on a flea market) with sand covered in them ($ 10 per gasin to the nearest career), cuvettes can be placed on painting plumb line ($ 5 for everything in everything in everything in The nearest construction store), will we not get about the same effect? I'm somewhat intrigued as I think, my speakers would benefit from this kind of isolation. The problem is, they don't have threads at the bottom. Any ideas how I could use the Auva's?

From the top of my head, some sort of thin gel pads or double sided tape could make your speaker stick to the top of AUVAs. However, this is still not a proper solution if you have kids or large pets that could hit the speaker and knock it over. More deliberate idea that would be more stable is to make a platform wider than the bottom of your speakers, with threads in the corners, and grippy thin rubber or silicon in the middle where speakers should be positioned. That's basically a miniature speaker stand.

What does not make sense to me are the 3 spikes on each foot. I am a fan of 3 spikes on large triangular speaker stands as they are self levelling although I know there are other considerations but unless you have a perfectly level floor surface wouldn’t 3 spikes on each foot create issues where not each spike would have the same connection to the ground or perhaps one or 2 spikes would have no contact with the ground in a worse case scenario. Perhaps somehow this makes no sonic difference but I would be interested in hearing the rationale esp as I have fairly thick carpet and a less then perfectly flat floor…

I have no doubt that these tools effect a change on the sound you hear. Vibration in a sound system is complicated. It includes room nodes as you pointed out as well as the vibration path to the floor, the substrate the floor is comprised of, whether the floor is suspended or not, whether the components in your electronics are damped at the component level or simply the chassis. For example are your speakers mechanically connected to your stands or isolated. My point is that there are many approaches to tuning your system…will you wall mount your turntable? Is it suspended? Are footfalls the problem? You realize that walls vibrate as well and need to consider how to deal with that. My point is that if you are a critical listener tuning is challenging and to a certain degree a matter of taste…otherwise there would only be one great violin, one great piano, guitar etc. Tuning is what separates the the masters from the mundane. Turntable design philosophy is a good example of this…minimal plinth like a Rega or lots of mass like the Lenco mods, compression or suspended springs, isolation or energy dumping etc. …these are some of the variables one can incorporate into experimenting with tuning. Sometimes your preference may fly in the face of a particular manufacturer’s philosophy, be counter intuitive and the result of a relatively cheap or if you’re lucky a change that only requires some labour. It isn’t a binary where this approach will always be better or worse than some other. I appreciate you encouraging people to consider what contributes to sound system coherence.

Both, since it’s essentially a feedback loop. Speaker vibrates into the room, room echoes back, both into your ears directly and into the speaker itself. Its all about distortion mitigation basically

Maybe my 19kg resin XTZ Master M2 speakers dont benefit of absorbtion or my already absorbing dynaudio stands (2 layers of some rubber sandwiched in the top and bottom plate) do not let me hear a difference... btw. I don't plan to, but given it's very similar to Fosi ZA3 that I already reviewed (same TPA3255 chip, same power supply choices...) it should be very good amp with clean and neutral sound.

It's actually quite easy to prove they reduce vibrations. Even your smartphone with all its gyro sensors can serve as a vibration meter with several apps. Proving it has a big influence on the sound we here is something much more difficult for various reasons. Anyway, they offer 30 day return policy so it's safe to try.

Diminishing returns? It is odd to always have few that judge the value of potential upgrade gear by what they physically see rather than by actually listening to the degree of sound change and hopefully improvement. Granted I believe this is going to be different for each individual system which is why I would never just take any reviewers word for it but its a starting point. If the were $5000 they might still be excellent value if they made enough sound improvement and that can only be judged by listening and not by pre judging that acoustic feet cannot possibly make that much difference to the sound. Thats actually not rational…

You'd want to give washing machine feet a go. If they can stop washing machine from generating tons of rumbling in a room, and isolate their noise, they will easily stop speakers from doing so too.
