i bought this almost a year ago(idk the exact version it’s not the 4k one but it is 240hz), very useful for pc multitasking. the split screen mode is really good instead of double monitor(considering the space i have in my room) but it works only at 60hz i think not even 120. definitely not a monitor for console only but if you have multiple devices on your desk this is a great purchase.

The Neo G8 is arguably better than the G7. It’s 4k with 240 hz at 32 inches and is a mini led as well so the picture quality is the same as the G9. But it’s one screen, so you get all the goodies without the dual screens, but if it drops the frame rate to 60 when utilizing 2 screens on the 57 inch then it kind of defeats the purpose of buying it for hdmi 2.1 on the ps5 or Xbox series X. I went with the Odyssey Neo G8.

I used to use my Neo G9 49 with my Xsx on one side of the picture by picture and would frequently not have my PC running on the other meaning there was just a black screen on the other side. If I'm to understand clearly, you're basically saying this format would max out at 60hz on the new 57"?

I can't get 120 Hz and VRR to work on this in any resolution. VRR says enabled in the panel GUI and PS5 but it stutters badly when moving the camera. Disabling Adaptive sync in the panel and VRR on the ps5 and the stuttering goes away. Either way I'm limited to 60 Hz. I have a 2.1 HDMI cable connected to Port 1 on the panel as required. 120 Hz is always grayed out in the panel GUI. So VRR doesn't work correctly and I can't get 120 Hz to work, even dropping the res to 1080p. I'm on the latest firmware.

You won't because HDMI 2.1 hasn't got the necessary bandwidth to cope with the panels refresh rate. you'd NEED displayport 2.1 which is only available on AMD 7xxx GPU's. Displayport 1.4a max bit rate = 10.2Gbps HDMI 2.1 max bit rate = 48Gbps Displayport 2.1 max bit rate = 77.37Gbps Toms Hardware: "For now, the only graphics cards that can handle a 7680x2160 resolution at a refresh rate of 240 Hz with Samsung's curved 57-inch Odyssey Neo G9 are AMD's Radeon RX 7000-series that support a DisplayPort 2.1 with UHBR 13.5 (and offering a 54 Gbit/s of bandwidth). Now I didn’t buy this monitor for my Xbox, it’s mainly for my pc which still can’t run over 120hz with my 4090 at full resolution. I feel like this is a bit misleading. You basically say that the display works just fine for console gaming, as long as you understand you can't make use of the ultrawide aspect ratio. I get it doesn't make sense only for console gaming, but if it's e.g a work on PC/Mac + console gaming, then it can do the job even if you don't use PbP mode. Of course, you could just get dual monitors for much less money, or a monitor + OLED TV which would be even better.

PS5 graphics power = 10.3 TFlops @ 140-150W for the entire console (TFlops = so 10.3 trillion calculations per second) XSX graphics power = 12.0 TFlops @ 153W maximum. My old 5700 with 5700XT VBIOS = 10 TFlops @ 225W for the GPU alone. My current 7900XTX = 61.4TFlops @ 425W typical when gaming. RDNA1 on my GPU vs custom RDNA 2 in the consoles but there's almost no performance boost from RDNA1 to RDNA2 the 6900XT had twice the CU count of the 5700XT and 103% performance lift. 23TFlops vs 10TFlops. TFlop doubling doesn't give 2X the fps rate it's roughly a 60% increase. you need to triple the TFlop count for 2X fps rates. Doubling pixel count (say from my 3840 x 1080 C49HG90 to your S95B 3840 x 2160 panel) on the same GPU will cost 25% fps rate in your game, triple screen typically costs half the fps rate of a single panel. I KNOW this for a fact having run trips for well over a decade. These are the facts. Now consider this... My 5700 used to give me this kinda performance at locked GFX settings (watch @ 4K to see the fps counter bottom left) kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKeTdotpr9t9i9Esi=8hQtYwqVQqIUIRhb 93 to 110 fps reduce that by 25% and you're JUST over 70 upto 82.5fps, so the PS5 simply CANNOT be faster (AMS2 is the same game engine as Project cars 2 and not very demanding) Same replay recorded on my 7900XTX in the exact same rig. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qn_VgIilmd2FqZIsi=OTFxyJClfZdRLNwp 199 to 330 fps so 3 times the maximum performance from 6 times the TFlop count. What does all this ACTUALLY mean? Sony and MS cap the fps rate of game to 60fps giving you smooth and ultra predictable performance. In games like AMS2 or PCars 2 the PS and XSX COULD run at max PC settings and achieve well over 60fps. In games like Forza Motorsport which is much, MUCH more demanding the XSX runs at 30 fps in quality mode and 60fps performance mode. It's also NOT running 4K native resolution at EITHER setting, to maintain those ultra stable fps rates it's dipping the resolution and dropping the graphics settings in scenarios where it's not possible to keep the stable fps rate (e.g. back of the pack with a full grid ahead of you, or, in an open world game with longer views). When it CAN maintain native 4K, it increases the graphical settings based on the available power and GPU capabilities. (e.g. leading the pack with nothing close to you, or, inside a building in an open world game). What makes you think a XSX with less than a 20% the raw grunt of my 7900XTX can POSSIBLY play FM at 60fps native 4K? They call it "optimisation" this is a flat out LIE, it's actually dropping the gfx settings and resolution on the fly to be able to hit a stable 30fps at medium to high settings and 60fps at low to medium settings. Then look at those GFX vs AMS2, a blurred mess with artifacts all over the place (e.g. the metal barriers going from silver to black and back at the shadow draw distance). Trees looking like cardboard cutouts that change colour as the shadows pop in, Can't identify cars in the distance because their outlines are fuzzy and which also have no shadows underneath them. AI that can barely drive let alone race despite being "self trained with 10's of thousands of laps at each track" yet their best time is over 8 seconds slower than the fastest GTE lap in the WEC 6 hours of Spa in 2019. (AMS2 AI got within 3 seconds of this @ 100% and they can go as high as 120% skill). So bad are FM AI that the entire field of AI driver in AMS2 were closer to me than 3rd placed AI in FM, I even lapped the last AI in FM in just laps!!!! Handling so bad that even I couldn't get closer than 4 seconds from that WEC time set in 2019, yet in AMS2 I actually got close 3 times then BEAT it by 0.3 seconds. Garbage performance barely pushing 2 threads above 80% load on any desktop CPU and leaving many of the rest at idle or barely above 20% load and therefore leaving high end GPU's sitting at 60-80% utilisation. Overall giving piss poor fps rates because T10 couldn't be bothered to use the hardware available to it's maximum potential. And people wonder why FM has such bad reviews on Steam... Because the PC optimisation was either never done at all or never properly tested! So no, there's absolutely NO WAY you'll get over 60fps on ANY 4K screen from either the PS5 or XSX.. In the words of Scotty "You cannae change the laws of physics!" You paid £1100+ and you'll never get 120fps with a console! I paid £750 and get MORE than the 144Hz my panel can muster, hence my next target is either the 1440P 240Hz variant or this 57" 2X 4K 240Hz panel which even MY PC would struggle to match. BTW your console couldn't run at 240fps on this screen as it's not got Displayport 2.1 which is required to handle the bandwidth, nor do ANY Nvidia GPU's so even a 4090 can't run over 120fps on this 57" panel even at lowest settings....

Much better than you can get on any TV" -- First of all "response rate" is not a thing, if you meant "repsonse time" (the time is takes a pixel to change from one color to another), then the statement is false, because OLED TVs have much better response time than any LCD or mini-LED display. This has been tested and proven time and time again by channels like HDTVTest and Monitors Unboxed. Maybe you meant Input Lag (the time from pressing a button on a controller to seeing the action on screen), then yes maybe this monitor has better input lag than any TV, due to less image processing being involved. But OLED TVs have really good input lag these days in Game Mode. But I think response time affects input lag as well (if pixels take longer to change color, then it will take longer for you to see the effect of your input onscreen) and OLED always has the advantage there.

Had mine for roughly two weeks now. It has gotten really hot once. To the point that I could feel the heat on my face radianting off it, and the back was red hot. That said after like an hour it went back to being cool as a cucumber. The only thing I could think that caused it was that I left it was youtube's bright white background while I went to the loo and didn't come back to it for like 20-30 minutes as I did a few things after but yes in any case, I can confirm that it can get extremely hot but it doesn't seem like much of an overall issue considering its happened once and its just a guess about why it went so hot in the first place.
